Lush high desert river oasis on three acres, nestled in a fertile valley in Carson National Forest, right between the fiery expanse of Taos and the rolling colorful formations of Abiquiu. Peaceful, private and serene land right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives.
At the moment we have three options 1) Spacious, cozy, and private Vintage Camper that can be heated, with kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. 2) A Gazebo Tree shaded campsite for tents only, with fire pit, outdoor seating and the tranquil sounds of the gently flowing river in the background. 3) If you would like to bring your own camper/or tent we have a Willow brush enclosed meadow with stunning views.
You can go on a panoramic ridge hike right off the property, or just relax by the flowing creek, or listen to the bird symphonies. Some campsites have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house, others have private outhouses.

The land is beautifully wild with lots of animal life. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars. If you're pulling your trailer/camper you'll need 4W.
With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and/or a repellent work great.
Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away.

This glamp zone occupies only 1.25 acres. Part of our mission in creating this space is to bring folks together. We encourage campers to mingle. Maybe organize a group float down the Chama. The float from just above Bodes to our very own shore is wonderful. It takes about two hours. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil.
Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave.

Each site is nestled beneath towering Ponderosa and Blue Spruce pines and Aspens. They offer level ground for tents, grill for cooking, and easy access to nearby hiking trails, Cowles Ponds, and the soothing sounds of the Pecos River. Whether you’re stargazing by your campfire or sipping coffee with the morning breeze, this is where relaxation lives.
Your campsite is part of the Vida Bonita Pecos complex, which includes beautifully remodeled cabins and the remodeled Ponderosa Lodge. While you’ll have total privacy at your site, guests are welcome to explore designated areas of the property, our trout pond, and free roaming chickens and turkeys.
We don’t pack campers in. No RVs. No generators. Just you, the trees, and a sky full of stars.

Weekend Trip to Jemez Mountains A-Frame Cabin

Weekend Trip to Springwild
Our stay at the Springwild property was a great experience! Tucked just outside of downtown, it was easy to find and offered a quiet and beautiful place to stay for the night. Raven was an incredibly friendly host and showed us all around the property. All of the buildings were unique and connected to the local art. The camper was cozy and offered everything we needed for our brief stay. We also enjoyed waking up to the friendly chickens!

the snugglewide is a DREAM!!! so cozy and sweet, like being inside the best grammas tea pot. the site it's like walking through a portal to a more beautiful world where even the houses have personality. Raven is an amazing host and has thought of everything. I will definitely be going back and if you're reading this do yourself a favor and enjoy this little slice of high desert paradise

Really nice well set up yurt. Great views and privacy. Comfortable beds. Has lights, heat, power, and some water provided. Has a camp stove but we had a problem getting it to light, so we used our own. The only issue was some barking from nearby dogs intermittently during the night that woke me up a few times, but obviously that's outside the owners control. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The yurt was clean and cozy and the composting toilet was well-maintained. The bed was comfortable. It can get quite windy on the mesa top and the stars are visible through the top of the yurt.

Yes, yes, and yes. This property, facilites, and beauty is unparalleled. Everything about this experience was awesome. I couldn’t get the heater started and Cheves was onsite within 15mins fixing it. I want nothing more than to come back.

This is a very peaceful place where sunset hits the site perfectly. Everything you could possibly need is provided. It has a gentle, home-like feel. The bed is very comfortable as well which was a big plus after 18 hours of driving.
