Discover the beauty of Stone House Lodge nestled between northern New Mexico’s most popular recreation areas, El Vado and Heron Lake State Parks.
Come and relax in this beautiful, fun and friendly environment. We are surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers in a wooded setting.
We have five unique rustic cabins, each with their own special features. The cabins have been recently renovated and have electric and hot water.
Our RV sites are spacious long level pull-throughs and have access to water, septic and electricity. Our premium RV spaces are secluded with mountain views. Community showers and restrooms available.
Our Dry Camp Sites are secluded and peaceful with mountain and lake views.
Our campsite amenities include Restaurant and Bar with music and dancing on Saturday.
The Convenience Store features a fishing tackle shop, wood, ice, snacks and necessities.
Guests will enjoy a large covered pavilion with grills, picnic tables, grill/fire pits, bikes, kayaks and paddle boards.
We are a 2.5 hour drive from Albuquerque located just 3 miles past Heron Lake off of HWY 95.

3 nights at Stone House Lodge & RV
We loved how it was tucked away in the mountains. Tons of wildlife! We saw deer, turkeys, HUGE jack rabbits and also heard elk. The staff was VERY nice and the food at the café was also very good. We would definitely stay here again next time were in the area.

This was my second time staying here, and it will always be one of my favorite places to stop. Linda is a great communicator & even makes sure to provide curated directions, depending on which way you are coming from. Highly recommend stopping for a night (or two!) The donkeys are also a plus :)

The parking spot was level on gravel, close to the other two campers, but the forest was just up the road where we could walk our dog. Neighbor campers including our host were super friendly. Close to town on the highway. Convenient location.

2 nights at Durango RV Resort
I stayed in the basic cabin (ie, the fancy shed). It was perfect, one queen bed, two twin bunks, ac, heat, ceiling fan and a light. The sites are a little close together but I was not spending the summer so not a big deal, I was there to sleep after spending the day at mesa verde. The grounds and restroom/shower was very neat and clean. I would definitely stay again. There is definitely road noise but as you can see from the posting, they are next to a major road. It was not a big deal in the cabin as I had windows closed as the temps were pretty cool.

This spot was perfect. It was in a great location close to the hot springs which is what we go to pagosa for. There are some woods nearby that our dogs had a blast in. Beautiful and peaceful. Totally will come back!

This spot has a lot of potential. It truly is in a grove of aspens right up the hill from the host’s home. I was a week too early for the color change! I normally dry camp so I felt spoiled when the host ran both power and water to my camper.
The spot was quiet and convenient to Durango, the Million Dollar Highway, and Vallecito Reservoir. I spent most of my time exploring those areas.
I was in a trailer and had to back up a steep hill to get to the spot. It was not difficult, and if I had failed, the host was there to help. If I’m back in the area I will definitely stay there again!

We were traveling in a truck camper and booked a tent site, thinking we could just park the truck in the parking space that comes with the tent site. They said we needed an RV site and graciously switched us right away. The campground setup is really nice with lots of trees. It has some nice amenities including a heated swimming pool! The staff is so friendly and we lucked out because they were offering a free full breakfast while we were there. All in all, it is a very nice campground and we would definitely go back.
