Off-Grid Farm Cabin | Goats, Chickens & Fresh Eggs Stay at our primitive off-grid cabin on our private family goat and chicken farm, Badwood Acres. Our RV sites and Primitive Guest Cabin are located across the street at Dirty Annie Acres. We offer one private RV site as well as a group RV site that can accommodate two to three RVs, depending on their size. The Primitive Guest Cabin provides a quiet, unplugged experience surrounded by open skies, roaming animals, and the rhythms of farm life. You may wake to the sound of roosters greeting the sunrise, goats wandering through the woods, and the kind of stillness you can only find outside of town. This is not a luxury stay—it's a back-to-basics experience for those who appreciate simplicity, nature, and a slower pace of life. Each stay includes complimentary fresh eggs from our chickens, when available. The cabin sits in a private, fenced area of the property with its own parking space, giving you privacy while still allowing you to experience life on a working homestead. What to Expect: • Primitive, off-grid cabin • Primitive RV sites with gravel pads that are fairly level • Shared stargazing circle and fire pit (subject to fire ban restrictions) • Private access and a quiet setting • Working goat and chicken farm • Wi-Fi, potable water, and electricity available upon request • Fresh eggs included with your stay 🥚 • Wildlife may be present, including black bears, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, and many native bird species

The Back Forty (Single/Hillside)

RV/tent site · Sleeps 4 · Vehicles under 45 ft
Looking for a private place to circle the wagons? Head down the gravel lane and leave the crowds behind. Nestled in a private, tree-lined corner of Dirty Annie Acres, The Back Forty offers a peaceful place to park, camp, and soak in the beauty of Southwest Colorado. Surrounded by trees, green pastures, mountain views, and endless skies, this secluded gathering spot feels a world away from busy campgrounds and crowded RV parks. The site is tucked into the back of the property and is flexible enough to accommodate multiple setups. Whether you're traveling with two RVs, a few camper vans, or a small group looking for a private place to gather, The Back Forty provides plenty of room to spread out and make yourselves at home. By day, enjoy views of trees, pastures, wandering goats, and the quiet pace of life on our family goat and chicken farm. By night, settle in beneath some of Colorado's darkest skies, where the stars seem to stretch from horizon to horizon. Guests are welcome to enjoy our communal Stargazing Area and Fire Pit, where evenings are often spent swapping stories, watching shooting stars, and enjoying the crackle of a campfire. As an off-grid property, optional utilities are available on a limited basis: Electrical hookup available via extension cord for an additional fee; Water is available by hose connection or drinking-water tank fill upon request for an additional fee; Firewood available during non-fire-ban periods; Water source available near the fire pit area. Please note that some parking locations may require leveling depending on your rig and preferred campsite location. Every stay includes complimentary fresh eggs from our chickens when available. Roosters may provide an early-morning wake-up call, free of charge and entirely on their own schedule. Wildlife is common in the area, including deer, elk, black bears, and the occasional mountain lion. Food should always be stored securely, and pets must remain leashed or otherwise contained. Trash must be taken with you. This isn't an RV park. There are no rows of campers, no bright lights, and no crowded neighbors. Just fresh mountain air, wide-open skies, roaming farm animals, and a quiet place to call home for a few days. Welcome to The Back Forty.

The Back Forty Gathering Grounds

Booked 1 time
RV/tent site · Sleeps 15 · Vehicles under 45 ft
Private Group Camp at Dirty Annie Acres The Back Forty Gathering Grounds is a private group camping area located at Dirty Annie Acres, our sister property to Badwood Acres, our family goat and chicken farm nestled in the mountains of Southwest Colorado. Designed with groups in mind, this spacious site can accommodate multiple RVs, camper vans, tents, or a combination of all three! It's the perfect gathering place for families, friends, traveling companions, and weekend adventurers. Tucked down a gravel lane and surrounded by trees, the site offers plenty of privacy while still providing sweeping views of mountain treelines, green pastures, and some of the darkest night skies Colorado has to offer. This is where you circle the wagons. Explore Pagosa Springs, visit with our goats, or simply enjoy the fresh mountain air. In the evenings, gather around the communal Stargazer Circle, swap stories, roast marshmallows, and watch the stars emerge one by one. Every booking includes complimentary fresh eggs from our chickens when available, and our resident roosters are happy to provide a sunrise alarm clock at no extra charge. As an off-grid property, utilities are limited and cannot be offered to groups. Please note that portions of the site may require leveling depending on vehicle size and parking arrangement. Wildlife is common in the area, including deer, elk, black bears, and the occasional mountain lion. Food should always be secured, and pets must remain leashed or otherwise contained. Remember the old saying that when someone gets too old, stubborn, or ornery, they are headed for "the back forty?" Around here, we've given that idea a much friendlier interpretation. The Back Forty is where you come to unplug, reconnect, and spend time with the people who matter most. No traffic. No crowds. No rush. Just campfires, stars, fresh eggs, and good company. At Dirty Annie Acres, we like to think every guest becomes part of the family while they're here. Whether you're gathering with old friends or making new ones around the fire pit, we hope you'll feel right at home.

The Shack at Dirty Annie Acres

Cabin · Sleeps 4 · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1 toilet
The Shack at Dirty Annie Acres Think she-shed meets man-cave meets cabin in the woods. Tucked away on Badwood Acres, our small family goat-and-chicken farm, this cozy off-grid Shack at Dirty Annie Acres, our adjacent property, offers a little bit of comfort, a little bit of adventure, and a whole lot of fresh mountain air. The Shack features one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a bathroom, living and dining space, and a fully functional kitchen. (There is a full-sized couch that can certainly be slept on.) But let's be honest—this isn't the Hilton. This is an off-grid farm cabin, and Mother Nature is part of the amenities package. Our electricity comes from the sun, so when the sun shines, life is good. Water comes from a cistern, so there's water when the tank is full. Using resources wisely is a must. The cabin will keep you warm when the propane tanks are topped off, and cool when you draw the shades and let the mountain air do its thing. Around here, we like to say that everything works... most of the time. Wake up to roosters crowing at sunrise, watch goats wander through the property, and enjoy complimentary fresh eggs from our chickens during your stay, and fresh goat milk too (when the girls are feeling generous). Badwood Acres is a working farm, which means you'll experience the sights, sounds, and occasional unpredictability of country living. You'll also share the area with local wildlife—including black bears, deer, elk, and the occasional mountain lion passing through the neighborhood. This cabin is perfect for travelers who appreciate simple comforts, beautiful views, star-filled skies, and stories they'll tell when they get home. If you're looking for room service, this probably isn't your place. If you're looking for a quiet cabin, a hot cup of coffee, a farm-fresh breakfast, and a chance to unplug from the world for a while, welcome to Dirty Annie Acres.
