Pleasant Valley Lavender

3 sites · Tents10 acres · Morganville, Monmouth
Pleasant Valley was named by George Washington himself when he travelled through the area and declared, "My, what a pleasant valley!" He was absolutely right, and it continues to be a very pleasant valley enhanced by New Jersey's first lavender farm. Ever since I opened the farm in 2008, people have asked if they could pitch a tent and spend the night. Now you can! We are excited to make our farm available for tent camping. Enjoy the fields, smell the flowers, hang out with our chickens and enjoy all the area offers from the rich history and sightseeing to fabulous beaches just a 30 minute drive away. Visit the hip cities of Red Bank and Asbury Park and quaint towns throughout central New Jersey. Our site is private and quiet. Our driveway has a large flag by the mailbox. Our mailbox is bright blue. Please do not pull into #300. Learn more about this land: We offer a secluded site nestled among the pine trees that surround our lavender farm. At the birth of this nation, George Washington travelled through this area and declared, "What a pleasant valley!" Our farm, nestled in the Pleasant Valley area of Monmouth County is home to NJ's first lavender farm. The stream at the base of the valley babbles through our farm. When the lavender is in bloom you will smell the sweet scent of this amazing herb. Off-season the fragant pines are the dominant scent. Nearby, you will find hiking trails, county and state parks with fishing and boating and hip towns for antiquing and terrific food. A short drive and you can be on the beach enjoying the surf.

Wildflower Hill

1 site · Tent1 acre · Gillette, Morris
Nestled on the ridgeline of the 3rd Watchung Mountain, the property sits above The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. You'll be in a neighborhood, for sure, but a quiet one with lots of room for people and pets to stretch. The property has a 3000 square foot wildflower field with a cozy tent spot in the center. There is also a grand flat grass area for setting up multiple tents. A 100-foot dog trolley run spans the land so your fluffy can run and stay close, too. Numerous outdoor chairs and tables are set up in various spots to best enjoy the land. There is a fire pit and free firewood available. Use of up to two 8-foot single kayaks or a single 17-foot canoe is available. The Passaic River has a number of drop-in spots nearby and Round Valley and Spruce Run reservoirs are a short drive.
