We live on 6 acres of woods and hay fields. Larry used to hay the fields, now the local dairy farmer is haying the fields. This property was a fallow dairy farm called the Common View Farm when we bought it in 2007. We hear the name came from the fact that we can see the Craftsbury Common from the height of the property. Legend holds that people have seen strange lights and orbs in the area. It may just be a yarn told by the locals to the new flatlanders. I have never noticed anything of the sort and I have been looking. Who doesn't like a good New England ghost story? There are 20 acres of hay fields, 6 acres are woods. We have one old goat, Brownie, and our dog, Tinker, who runs the land and loves dog friends as well as humans. Our views are of the Lowell Mountains closest and the Green Mountains in the distance. You can see the Lowell wind farm on the horizon. We have a large garden and raspberry patch. The house closest to the forest path to the camp no longer belongs to us rather neighbors who value their privacy. To be good neighbors we ask our guests to stay within the bounds of the property. It is from the beginning of the path and the 6 acres of woods where the camp is located. You know when you've reachd the edge of our property where the path ends and where you see a sign notifying property boundary edge. Learn more about this land: The Northwoods Gypsy Wagon is a 3-minute walk into the woods from the parking area. You can have all the solitude you'd like or visit the nearby towns. In this off-grid wagon, you will have an indoor cooking stove (2 burner propane) and a propane stove for the cooler nights but no running water, therefore no indoor plumbing. Fresh water, battery operated lights, solar panel which provides one lamp and a place to plug in your phone, coffee/tea set ups. Wi-Fi/cell cov is not available. Host is a seasoned and high-rated host, and this is their summer residence, which is offered for very limited number of nights per season. First come, first served regarding the three holiday weekends for any season book quickly: Memorial Day 2027 already spoken for, Labor Day and Fourth of July may be options). GUEST STAYS: Minimum age of person booking a guest stay is 25 years of age. The base rate is for one person, with modest upcharge for a second person. Due to the set-up of both the cottage and its furnishings plus the ROW for lake access, we cannot accommodate children under 14 nor pets. Guests are expected to be able to at least tread water or actually swim, so boating and fishing etc. here at the lake is at one's own risk, just as it is for us residents. State regulations require wearing a personal flotation vest whenever boating (host provided). The cottage has its many charms, yet also some limitations: (1) due to this tiny parcel (50-ft square) parking for only ONE vehicle (truck, van, car) -- no room for RVs or any trailer; (2) As with many waterfront properties, the cottage is on a septic HOLDING tank, not a full septic system, so everyone has to be conservative with water usage (shorter showers, ganging toilet flushing, tossing dishwater off the back porch); (3) Host's internet access is a limited data plan, which does not allow hours and hours of streaming content on a daily basis; (4) Host has a right-of-way down to the lake (with dock, chair, kayaks, rowboat etc.), so everyone needs to stay within the drive-lane width ROW. WHAT TO BRING: All you need to bring are your apparel including swim togs and swim shoes, maybe your own well-fitting flotation vest for boating; sunscreen and bug repellent along with your preferred toiletries; maybe your fave bed pillow, plus food and beverage for your stay.

4 nights at Greenhope Lookout Cabin

Sallie’s property is a perfect rustic getaway! The cabin is nicely tucked away off the main road, overlooking a beautiful pond with mountains in the background. The fire ring, chairs, and picnic table were welcome amenities, and the cabin itself was cute and cozy. Beds for three inside, and we had enough room to throw a small cot down for our fourth person. Sallie was extremely welcoming and warm, and her animals were much the same. Super friendly/happy pack of 4 dogs, and a beautiful pair of horses! The location is perfect, too. Quick drive into town for groceries and cell service, and also not too far from Willoughby Lake. We enjoyed day trips to Mount Pisgah, Clyde River Recreation, and Willoughby Lake itself! I couldn’t recommend a stay here enough—just make sure you’re comfy amongst nature! The cabin sits in a beautiful patch of forest, and various peaceful critters call the trees and the pond home. Such a wonderful camping spot near Lake Willoughby and Bread and Puppet. It’s private, clean, and has tons of firewood to keep the fire going. Fun activities around camp like axe throwing and horse shoes and mountain biking trails all around! Second time staying there and love it.

The cabins at Burke Line Farm are adorable and were very homey, they served as the perfect home-base for my wife and I to take a quick fishing getaway. The location is easy to find and within range of some great fishing spots. The cabins feature camping cots, candlelight, and readily available firewood with great little fire pits right outside. There is also a pavilion conveniently located, prepared with gas powered stoves and grills that make cooking a breeze. WiFi availability was HUGE in such a remote location. The cots sag a little bit and anybody not familiar with camping cots may find themselves a little uncomfortable, but they do the trick

This was my second stay at zen cabin (after falling in love with it the first time) and I will for sure stay there again any time I’m up that way! Super cute, cozy & magical. Lovely wooded hang space with fire pit, beautiful views, and proximity to a great general store & all kinds of fun adventures (we did Bread & Puppet, dinner at Blackbird Bistro, a visit to Blueberry Lake & a lil hike around the Barr Hill nature preserve). We really enjoyed our stay at Jerry’s Baby Bear Cabin! It was well equipped with everything we needed for a nice weekend. 10 nights at Burke Line Farm

Great place, deserves more attention probably. Cabin was a great choice this year. Firewood, and tools available. Bathrooms clean. It was also cool to see the farm hosting events upfront, I think my kids enjoyed it.
