Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Founded in 2024, Wild Soul Serenity (WSS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others heal, reconnect, and thrive through the restorative power of nature and holistic wellness. Our mission is to create a sustainable sanctuary for Veterans, First Responders, creatives, and the broader community to experience mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal. WSS was born from a desire to serve and support others while building a sustainable, passive residual income model that reinvests into the land and the people it serves. Nestled in the wilderness near Acadia National Park, our off-the-grid campground merges rustic camping on a lake. If available we offer massage therapy, yoga, energy work, and bodywork, (to name a few) in three ways: 1. When campers request private sessions during their stay. 2. When wellness professionals host ongoing services onsite. 3. During WSS-hosted events that feature healing arts practitioners. Our event space will be available for rental and collaboration with local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups—so long as their purpose aligns with our values: promoting wellness, building connection, and supporting mental health through holistic means and nature's tranquility.
Each year we expand on this campground until it's full vision is a reality. For 2026 we have a few campsites, some have platforms, some without. The plan this year is to add a cabin, woodshed, bathroom and work on the trail system. Each campsite has a buffer of vegetation with the lake as a view, a fire pit and space to have more than one tent. There will be a waste bag toilet. No running water, not much cell service, no electricity. Park at the main road and bring your camping items into the woods. Your site will be labeled. Trash in, trash out. Firewood for sale, camping gear for rent. Canoe and walk the beach (if low levels). Dog friendly: must be friendly, on a leash and please be mindful of dogs digging. Here we value the land, it's sanctuary and soil erosion prevention along the shoreline. Friends and Family Market on rte 1A is the closest resupply.

Big Moose Inn Cabins & CampgroundIrving O. Hunt and his brother Lyman built some rough camps on Millinocket Lake before they became interested in the Nesowadnehunk Stream region. Whether or not their old camps were at the same site as the present camps on Millinocket Lake we do not know.The Millinocket Lake Camps, known today as Big Moose Inn, are located on a narrow spit of land separating Ambejejus Lake and Millinocket Lake. Before a dam controlled Ambajejus’ water level, it was possible to pole up the short stream from Millinocket Lake into Ambejejus.Fred Spencer build the camps, originally named Camp Eureka, in 1899 or 1900 and ran them with his brother. With the founding of Millinocket only a few years earlier and lumbering roads nearing Katahdin, the two lakes became more easily accessible. Camp Eureka was advertised as the only camp reachable by both boat (from Norcross) and road (from Millinocket). In 1905, the rate was $1.50 per day, meals included. Spencer also claimed the lakes had no flies or mosquitoes during spring and summer- a phenomenon caused by the way winds blow across the lakes, which makes it difficult for insects to gain a foothold.The camps’ name changed to Camp Spencer and later to Spencer’s Camps. Around 1929 the lease was transferred to Elmer Woodworth, who lived with his wife on a nearby island while they operated the camps. Elmer, a well-known guide, trapped over the winter, and his wife served as the camp cook. The couple soon renamed the camps Millinocket Lake Camps and Trading Post. They also maintained an outlying camp on Sandy Stream for their guests. In 1941, a major fire broke out in the area. The Woodworths saved the camps by wetting them down, but lost their island home when a stray spark jumped the cove. There is some evidence that, for a short time, a gentleman named Johnny Given either held the lease or managed the camps for the Woodworths. Except for that brief change the Woodworths operated the camps for many years until they passed the lease on to their son Ray, who ran them with his wife Muriel.In 1977, the lease was transferred to Bob and Frederica (“Teddy”) Boynton, who in 1981 sold the trading post to Erwin and Maureen Bacon. The Boyntons retained the sporting camp operation and later added a public restaurant. Teddy renamed the camps Big Moose Inn. Bob and his son Bruce made many renovations to the camps, while Teddy decorated and furnished them. The Boynton Family has remained involved in the success of the inn and restaurant. After Teddy’s death in 1991, management passed to Bruce and his sister Laurie, but Bob and other family members are still very involved.The dam separates the flowages of the two lakes. Millinocket Lake is about eight feet above its original level, and Ambajejus is now some 21 feet above its original level. We live on 52 wooded acres in a natural area surrounded by lakes and ponds just 14 miles north of Montpelier VT. We are located on the Green Mountain Gravel Growler bike packing trail and 7 miles south of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. We have lots of hiking , biking, boating and swimming opportunities nearby. Our amenity's include a bath house and laundry. We have two 30 amp RV sites with full hook ups and 4 tent/small RV non electric sites. We are 100% solar powered and have good WIFI but no cell service. We cater to small quiet groups who can enjoy our peaceful setting. If your are bike packing and our sites are booked just text or stop in we will accommodate you.
The campground is located along our town road and the sites are 50 - 100 feet apart along our driveway. This is not a wilderness experience you will have neighbors, including us.
We are a family friendly, non smoking campground. We are open early May till late October. Pets on leashes are OK. Quiet time is all the time :~). 12 and under free, no Generators.

With the main house built in the 1830s. This 9 acre property has seen many uses such as a farm/orchard, retail christmas store, religious retreat, rental cabins, and a gravel quarry among other things. I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for wildlife habitat, as well as you the campers!

I have 3 well spaced out RV/tent sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. The Pond site is significantly larger and can hold multiple vehicles and tents or trailers (please add this in the extra vehicles at checkout if you will be having multiple vehicles or trailers). Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. There is no trash service, so please keep your trash secure from wildlife. Leave no trace! Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail (The Valley Trail) that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, through town and hooks up to trails all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the sites. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, laundry, gas, liquor store/ dispensary, electric car chargers, etc. I have dry, split firewood available for $5 on site. Please don't bring your own wood unless it is dryed and prepackaged from a retail store or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...if you need anything else feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to steer you in the right direction.

6 Sites are on Sunrise Farms 75 acre Conservation land with 50 mile view for Sites 1 and 2. Very quiet area with lots of wildlife and ponds and disc golf. Very quiet with great swimming and lots of hikes right from your sites.
2 of the Brookside Sites (Wishbone Left and Right) are close by (2.7 miles) where we have another 1/2 mile of river frontage and can handle bigger groups as Conservation land on Sunrise Farm only allows 4 campers per site.
Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide.
Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from.
Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear.
We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest).
- PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use).
Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids.
Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people.
In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive.
Always WISE to arrive When LIGHT out as we do not live at the site and are not able to show guests to their sites as a result.

3 miles from downtown Union (featuring 3 Convenience stores, 1 Grocery store, 2 Banks with ATMs, 2 Restaurants, Pizza, Gas and a Laundromat) and only 12 miles to Camden and Rockland. Good Cellular signal.
Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure.
Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. You may even stumble upon wild raspberries and blackberries, if they're in season.
The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August.
No other campers are visible from your site - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you!
Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay.
Note: No Trespassing signs are posted for the farm operation - these Do Not apply to Hipcampers! Please drive past them through the open gate to the site.
Pack in and pack out! The 2 dumpsters along the main road are PRIVATE and are camera monitored. The owners require a $50 fee for unauthorized use, so please don't use them without permission.

The site is grass, reasonably level and easy access. The picnic table is newer and there is a nice fire ring with cooking grate. The pond is very scenic as is the whole property. Gus is very nice and met us shortly after we arrived.
We got rained out before getting to walk the trail or explore the town. Plan to revisit in the future!

With pets
It’s nice and secluded. Was perfect for our two dogs. The cabin was clean and they supplied us with a lantern which came in handy in the cabin. The outhouse was clean too. The hosts answered our questions and was there if we needed anything. We were there for 5 days and the no showers were a little inconvenient, but we found public showers that were a half hour drive and stopped there after going out on hikes. Overall it was a perfect “off grid” vacation.

We loved camping by the pond on site number 1. Fire pit, picnic table, lots of trails nearby to access town and other hikes. Route 9 can be a bit noisy but it settles down at night. It was very peaceful and you could walk to restaurants in Wilmington. Gus was there to welcome us and answer all our questions. We would definitely return here if we are in the area.

We had such a lovely stay with Gus! The campsite was exactly as shown in pictures/described. It was very easy finding our way to our site with the instructions Gus provided. We found that our site was tucked away and private, but still close to grocery stores, trails, and sights. Gus was very proactive in communication and made us feel right at home.

Camping at Broadfork is always a pleasure. The views, the clean outhouse, the farm stand, and the animals make this a campsite we always prioritize in our route for our yearly VT bike tour.

Gus's campsite by the pond (#1) was delightful. Lots of room, lots of privacy, and right by the pond. The pond wasn't great for swimming (lots of pond flora), but very nice for gazing at and for stand up paddling. Great price, and lots of fun things to do nearby (Starfire Bakery is one of our favorite bakeries anywhere). The walk to the bathroom is a little long, as advertised, but not too bad. There was nobody else camping there when we were there, so the privacy was exceptional. Gus was attentive and helpful but not in the way.

Wild Serenity was an incredible spot to camp! The lake is gorgeous and quiet. Kat was very welcoming and showed me one of her favorite spots to camp on the beach. She also has lots of gear available to borrow and some kayak/canoes open to use which was so lovely. I definitely suggest this spot if your looking for a peaceful getaway!

Weekend Trip to Broadfork Farmstead
Carol is such an incredible host and the bus is adorable. My daughter and her friend shred the bus and the moms pitched a tent outside. We loved cooking and eating while watching the cows, goats and ducks graze in the pasture. Between the outhouse, outdoor shower, outdoor sink and Carol’s indoor farm stand, we had everything we needed just a few steps away. The area is also filled with many gems from Bread and Puppet to incredible ice cream at Wilson Farm Market. Carol was super responsive throughout our entire stay and we returned home feeling revived. Would definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely perfect weekend at the "wagon cabin", I cannot recommend it enough. It was the best balance of secluded while also being close enough to resources like a deli, gas station, and freshwater pond. We were able to experience Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula without the crowds around Bar Harbor. The site itself really is as spectacular as the pictures on the website. We took our folding chairs to the beach and sat for hours reading our books and listening to the waves. The lofted bed was very comfortable, much more than sleeping on a camping pad (in my opinion). We really cannot speak highly enough of the site and if it weren't so far (8 hour drive) we would absolutely make it an annual visit.

Stayed 2 days at Site 4 and 1 day at Site 3...both were great for different reasons...slept well and got to commune w nature which is a great for any urban dweller. The wood pit fires, the meals I cooked on my portable stove, the hikes w my dog and young son b4 he heads out to college for the first time, the stars...the local food scene nearby...yep...we'll be back!

Okay, where to even start? By far the COOLEST place I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. The escape room aspect kept us entertained for hours even though we couldn’t figure out the last clue it was a blast, This place is magical in every way. From the fireplace to the outhouse 🤣 The host was so kind and welcoming on top of the picturesque scenery. 10/10 unparalleled out of the universe experience. Thank you!!

Lovely property in rural Vermont. It’s very scenic and peaceful. As the host suggests, it’s best to arrive before dark as although the entrance is easy to find the sites can be difficult to distinguish. Wish I could have stayed longer!
