Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike.
When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

Cute little cabin nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe to get to but also away from the Tahoe chaos.
Host lives on property , but will most likely be out and about most of the day. There are two neighbors but both own 20 acres so you can not see them, feels very private.
The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land.
However it is nice to be so close to highway 20 because it leads to several different destinations. ( west : Nevada city. east: towards Tahoe, and both directions there are soo many lakes/ rivers )
Tiny house: •Full sized futon downstairs and king sized mattress in loft. Electric fireplace, all the game boards , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!!
•Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed.
•Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee (French press, drip, mocha pot). Black stone grill outside. Fire pit , check if fires are allowed during booking
•Separate bathroom with compost toilet or a short walk to outhouse. Outdoor shower in the making, message if available.
FUN: •Lake Spaulding is about 1/4 mile hike down from the property. There is a boat launch and plenty of room to park it on the property if you want to bring a boat. Also have two paddle boards you are welcome to use.

Bright Bear Camp is a private two-acre property bordering Tahoe National Forest. We are located at 4300' elevation down a mostly dirt road along the beautiful Bear River and Bear Valley. This is a very peaceful spot among the trees with a small meadow and creek on the property.
As our name suggests, bears are occasionally in the area so keep an eye out. You may also see the spotted owls that live nearby - listen closely for their calls (https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Spotted_Owl/overview).
There is much to explore in the area and more with only a short drive to the South Yuba River, Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding, Donner Pass, Donner Lake, and Truckee.

Alpine Valley Campsite is a short distance to Reno, Truckee, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs, and Lake Tahoe. It is located approx. 4.5 miles from Stampede Reservoir, 5.4 miles from the Truckee River in Verdi, and 17 miles from the Boca Reservoir and Truckee River in Truckee. Host highly recommends 4x4/AWD vehicle OR at least 7" of ground clearance, driving slow on dirt and rocky roads (approximately a 25-minute drive from entrance of Toiabye National Forest-Verdi, CA entrance at 5-10 mph), and experience with pack-in, pack-out camping. Detailed welcome letter with local destinations, GPS coordinates, Valley map and links provided upon booking. Nightly rate is for up to two campers; any camping party is limited to eight (8) campers and each additional camper is assessed a guest fee of $44/nt If you'd like to collect wood from the property, simply purchase a bundle of wood when completing your booking. A great place to star gaze. There are many great places to hike, take a dip in the Bear River or just relax by the creek and unwind from the city life. Just a short walk to the Bear River. A small stream runs right through the property. You may even book the stream site to enjoy it close up. A very short drive to Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding and South Yuba River. Truckee or North Shore Lake Tahoe just 30-40 minute drive for a day trip. There is also a great eatery just up the road, right off Highway 80, if you are interested in a lunch out. What ever you came to the forest for, it is all waiting for you at Camp WAN-NA-B at Bear Valley., forest therapy! This area is know for gold panning and we are located right down the road from a historical gold mine, Donner Mine Camp.

3 nights at Flyte and Sparrow natural interlude
Flyte and Sparrow is such a special place. We came here for the first time in November and already returned one month later in December. Tiny Blue is a lovely, cozy little getaway. It’s incredibly insulated and we were perfectly comfortable and warm each night.
Some of our highlights from our trip were simply just being on the land. Cooking a meal in the beautiful kitchen, watching the dramatic sunsets each night, trying to figure out the different grazing patterns of the cows, feeding Geiger the llama bananas, and conversations with Wendy. Wendy is so wonderful, warm and welcoming, and we loved each conversation, cherishing each tidbit of wisdom. Thank you Wendy for the eggs and the beautiful welcome card!
There is also a forest right behind the property which was absolutely gorgeous. In November, we took a four-wheel drive up to a fire lookout which was a stunning viewpoint, and when we returned in December, the ground was already blanketed in snow. It was magical, especially watching the community come together to cut down their Christmas tree.
We are looking forward to returning throughout the different seasons

This is an incredible property with an incredible host! I camped at Willow springs, and really enjoyed the lushness of the willows, the privacy, and watching the Beavers, Owls and Hawks. I also stayed a week in Tiny Blue which was a little slice of heaven!! I loved all the books, the view and it was super comfy! The tiny kitchen and bathroom nearby were absolutely perfect and I didn't need to leave the property for anything for many days. Wendy is so enthusiastic and hands on, you can really tell she loves what she does and has built a beautiful sanctuary for artists, writers, creative types and those that are in need of some sanctuary. I Especially encourage women who are Solo camping to spend some time at this beautiful location! I can't wait to come back next year!🌀

Pinenut’s land was excluded, surrounded by a creek and the stars in the evening were Incredible! The owner met us when we arrived introduced us to their family and shared the history of the land and how it all came to be.
We were welcomed with real hospitality, which was wonderful to experience during our specific time traveling the west. Ample wood, how water shower and grill with cooking tools provided.
The fire pit was the best, we were looking for an all night fire, and were able to have one. The space we stayed felt comfortable and safe, as if we were in a sphere of our own world.
The owners had a table , chairs and bell tent available. I enjoyed the friendly encounter, and helpful check in from the owner, and made sure we had everything we needed. I do know that I’ll be back to connect with the land as it’s all been blessed up after our stay. I recommend this spot for a couple wanting a cool experience, I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in spring time.
We stayed in October, the fire kept us warm.
The fire pit was the main highlight for us. Felt welcomed to be there, Pinenut land has great history and a good spot to have a sacred experience being under the stars and the beauty of the creek flowing at night. 10/10.

Weekend Trip to The Retreat on Big Grizzly Creek
This is a really great spot and we enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed the roaring creek next to us and hearing the water as we went to sleep and upon wake up! The tent was well built, felt cozy and secure. The propane heater provided was a MUST as we stayed mid-Oct and the nights were cold outside. It heated it up very quickly and we had to turn it down while we slept it got so toasty. While there are 2 options for parking, if we weren't able to park where we did (closer to the tent), it would have made for more difficult logistics. We just barely were able to get our full-sized truck backed down the path (between the posts) in order to park close to the tent. In muddy weather this might have been more challenging. FYI - you need to have some pretty decent backing up and maneuvering skills to back down through the gate, esp if you have a full sized truck like we did. We did navigate to this spot at night which was a bit challenging in the dark but everything worked out well. This is a nice, secluded and peaceful spot!

This is a cute and charming glamping experience. You will be lovingly embraced by the furry creatures on the ranch. The glamping tent included a heating unit which worked great, as well as a barbecue grill, amble, flashlights, water, solar powered outlets to charge our phones, and much more.
The breakfast was delicious, and the jams in the country store were great too.
We happened to be there on a day where there was an alpaca festival, and that was so much fun. We also witnessed an alpaca giving birth.
Stacy was super accommodating. We also got to meet some of the other farmers like Jim and Nancy, who is also a holistic energy healing practitioner and sound healer.
We also had a really great sleep in nature.

I enjoyed the stay! Going into the stay I was a bit nervous as I have never used Hip camp before and Kelley was super helpful/responsive to any questions I had. I would stay in Peral again, the trailer was clean and cozy. I live in the woods but it was a good change of environment and a great place to sit outside and listen to nature. Do try not to forget anything because the closest gas station is about 20-30mins away

This was our second time staying in Pearl for my birthday weekend (we came for the first time in 2023) and our stay did not disappoint! You can see and feel that Kelley puts a lot of intention into her home space and all the different sites and facilities. The sauna was a new experience this time, and it was SUCH a vibe. Being with the fire in the sauna as well as experience the bucket cold plunge was super healing and relaxing. It’s so nice that her spot is so close to emerald pools, too. Our little doggie had the time of his life roaming around and sunbathing. We will definitely be back again! Thanks Kelley for hosting us again 😌
