You will receive messages from us after booking and before your arrival, so please check your Hipcamp inbox. The RV spaces are behind the Baker Fuel and RV gas station. All sites are back-in only and have full hook-ups: 30amp and 50 amp electricity, sewer and water. There is a public bathroom, shower and laundry facility next to the sites. RV Site 5 is closest to the bathroom and RV Site 1 is furthest away. This camping part of the property offers five primitive campsites, situated in a natural, secluded area that was once a pond. Conveniently just south of the only gas station in town and behind the Great Basin Basecamp Airbnb, the sites are close to the highway but sit lower in elevation, providing privacy and shielding them from the road. Guests have access to a small building with clean restrooms, showers and one set of coin-operated laundry facilities for added convenience. Campsite #6 is closest to the restrooms, #10 is the furthest. No campfires as our fire danger is very high most of the year. There are water spigots at Site #6, between #7 and #8 and Site #10. The Lehman Caves Visitor Center at Great Basin National Park is about 5 miles up the road on Highway 488.

Wide open desert with history. In the 1800s the area was prospected for lead and silver. It was also used as farmland decades ago, and now is infamous for it's world class night skies and Area 51 air force installation. Although you can see planes taking off towards the Nellis Bombing Range, or see jetfighter training exercises or even test flights, the US Government still hasn't acknowledged the existence of the facility... that you are not allowed to enter. This is also a UFO hotspot and required visiting for those that believe Earth may have visitors. This land means a lot to a lot of different people. For some, it means peace from city life. For others, it is the perfect setting for reflection on your life. Many find it to be the kind of adventurous or challenging tent camping they've sought. You'd be foolish not to count yourself among those the photographers, amateur astronomers, or souls that enjoy the continental United States' "darkest skies" with the least amount of light pollution in this part of the world. Some simply like camping and getting free air shows. Finally, if you enjoy UFO stories or stories of our men in black, there is an itinerary for you here that nowhere else can provide. This area is on many "independent researchers" must-visit list. If all that weren't enough, there is an indescribable feeling of bedding down for the night in this valley. Nevada's newest state park, Ice Age Fossils State Park, is just a few miles away and offers a glimpse into prehistoric time in the region. The grounds are well kept, bathrooms and showers are clean, and it was just a quiet, peaceful place to stop for a couple days! We stayed in an RV and although we have a shower in it, it was nice to have showers on site that were a little larger and gave us a little more room. We also were thankful for the laundry facility. We are on a 15 day road trip and it was nice to be able to do a load of laundry (just make sure you bring quarters, $1.50 to was & $1.50 to dry)

We had a fantastic stay. The site was easy to get into with our 30’ 5th wheel. Bathrooms clean. Site well maintained. Communication from the host was AMAZING. Despite being behind the fuel station, it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. We’d absolutely stay again. Just a short drive to Great Basin NP. A little bummed the night skies were cloudy, but that’s monsoon season. So glad for the rain. We loved watching the storms roll in. This little rv park gives you a great vantage point to see them. Bring quarters if you need to do laundry!

We really enjoyed our stay. The bathhouse was always stocked and very clean. The laundry room was clean and well priced. The adorandack chairs and picnic table area was a welcome addition. I was concerned about being right on the "main" road but the rv spots are tucked back and we almost never heard any cars or gas station patrons. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

We loved camping at Mom’s RV Spot! The entire site was incredibly clean, well-kept, and spacious. Having a pull-through site and a solid concrete pad made parking and our setup completely effortless. Beautiful fig trees added a wonderful touch of nature and charm to the space. Because the site is tucked away from the main hustle and bustle, it offered incredible peace and quiet. It is also great for families, providing plenty of open space for the kids to run around and play. Our host, Leo was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. He went out of his way to prepare a campfire for us and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We couldn't have asked for a better host or a more relaxing getaway, and we will definitely be back!

Ideal location so close to the park and walking distance from the local general store/ cafe. The sites were clean and perfect for our trailer. The restrooms and shower and laundry were clean and convenient. We will stay again if we are in the area again. Thanks for hosting a great little spot!

Weekend Trip to Great Basin Desert Camping & RV

This was our first Hipcamp experience and we were a bit skeptical about an unmanned campground in a gravel parking lot behind an unmanned gas station that shared the bathhouse with the gas station, a 3-room motel, 5 tent sites, and the general public. But it was awesome. Sites were level, clean, and had excellent views in multiple directions. The bathrooms were very nice, well-maintained and consistently clean. Laundry room prices were reasonable. It was very close to Great Basin National Park. And I got some awesome dark sky shots of the Milky Way plus telescope captures of a galaxy far, far away from the tent camping area and the ridge above it (which also had perfectly positioned Adirondack chairs to observe Wheeler Peak and ponder the wonders of the universe). The sites will only improve as the newly planted trees grow and provide some shade.

Clean flat camp sites with picnic tables and a nice bathhouse with showers and laundry. Quiet at night even though it is near the road. Very little traffic in the area.

Amazing location close to everything in Vegas but super quiet. Pool was so good to come home to after a hot day and the bathroom is great as well. Hosts are so lovely! Thanks for sharing your space with us!

Campground was exactly what I needed. Close access to Great Basin NP, utilities, nice clean bathrooms. Host communicated well and was very accommodating! Just a word of warning if you are looking for pure darkness, the gas station lights stay on so the star viewing may be better done from the park. But I would absolutely stay here again.

Small campground with only 5 sites, but well situated to Great Basin NP. Flat sites with a concrete pad for the picnic table and to sit out in chairs. Ants were pretty bad, so bring some spray to keep them at bay. It's a bit noisy as it's the only fuel station in the area. We were disappointed that we didn't get to see the stars like we wanted, as the full moon foiled us one night and clouds the next. The drive up to Mt. Wheeler is a must. The views are awesome. But the campground was fine with 5 spots, there's also 3 small rooms to rent (like a motel). Restroom and showers were also available, although we did not use them.

This is a nice little RV campground that is clean, roomy and has all the essentials…power, water, and sewer hookups. Although the majority of the site is gravel, there are nice cement pads and picnic tables at each spot. the bathrooms are clean and well-stocked and there are laundry facilities. This is the perfect place to stay for a trip to Great Basin National Park. Be aware that there is no office, store or pool.

Weekend Trip to Great Basin Desert Camping & RV

Stayed for 3 nights and our site was great! Clean, level, well maintained. Showers were very clean, and washer and dryer worked wonderfully. 3 minutes to the Great Basin visitor center, and 10 minutes to the Lehman visitor center. We had a perfect stay. Would highly recommend for your trip to Great Basin.
