Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands is one of these places, comprised of two forests of ponderosa pine and three grassland areas. Come here to set up your temporary little house on the prairie and be a pioneer camper for a while! Wandering and exploring is unrestricted for non-motorized travel here, meaning freedom is yours for the taking! If you don’t want to just head into the abyss, try visiting the nation's oldest federal tree nursery (awww, baby trees!), or the largest extinct bison boneland in the world at the Hudson-Meng Bison Research Center. Or, head to Soldier Creek Wilderness Area for a little rewilding and backcountry exploration. Keep your eyes peeled for prairie dogs and wildflowers popping their cute little heads up, rock formations dotting the landscape, and magic around every turn. There’s a lot going on in that grass!

We have a 5 acre suburban campsite that is quiet, yet close to amenities. Located in south Lincoln between Highway 2 and the city limit, near shopping, restaurants, and breweries. Our property has a small seasonal creek with a walking path next to it and through a forested area and meadow. Cottonwood Creek Camp has one RV site and one Tent site. This can be a peaceful place to stay for a quick stop, an extended stay or even during Husker game-day weekends. We are 6 minutes from Southpoint mall which offers a shuttle to Memorial Stadium. Super Target, Aldi's and many other grocery stores are only 5 minutes away. Disc golf and mini golf courses are 2 miles away. There is also access to the Lincoln bike trails via our residential streets. Laundry is available on site for an extra fee. Easy access off Highway 2 at the 68th/70th Street Exit, continue west via Saltillo Rd. and then north on 56th St. Nearest dump station is 5 miles away at Shoemakers South Travel Center at highway 77 and Saltillo road.

DO NOT DRIVE THRU CAMPGROUND My ONE and ONLY Hipcamp site is locate right at the entrance of this small property. All campers must be 35 feet or less in length and given the small size of the campground it's easiest if you arrive before dark. The entrance is on a curve so make sure you enter from the left hand side of the road and don't be afraid to roll thru a little grass to make sure you have plenty of room. Make a hard hairpin turn to the right and your campsite is straight ahead and like everything here, a pull-thru site. (Please see HIPCAMP main photo) This is a long-term campground but I keep this one spot up front for our traveling friends to enjoy as you move across the country as options can be limited. Enjoy your stay and if you're ever unsure about anything just give me a ring. Please make sure to arrive before dark. Small campground and quiet community with minimal lighting can make for a challenging and sometimes disorienting arrival if not careful.

Aunt Annie's Flower Farm serves as a place of solace and joy for my beloved nieces and nephews, and I extend the warmest invitation for you to share in this natural splendor. This property is 110 acres all together. We have cattle that do visit the pastures but can be excluded if need be. Nice rolling hills with Oak Savannas in the low areas. Lots of great native wildlife and plants that bloom from early spring through late summer. In the Fall the leaves are amazing. There is a rough outhouse at the primitive campsite. No electricity but there is water and trash bins located at the farmstead. We do want our guests to be comfortable but this is definitely a rough camping site. You may also want to grab a beef package from us for your stay or to take along with you. Many items available for sale right at the farm. Enjoy peace, quiet, and nature at your own private 70 ac camp site!

This was a great spot for us to enjoy the prairie but still be close enough to the town! It was a beautiful property, giving us plenty of space to explore and feel connected to nature. Lisa was very good at communicating and helpful for giving advice on restaurants to check out in the area. We would totally stay here again if we come back to the area!

Three Little Birds is for smaller rigs. This camper was able to unhitch a trailer and park his cart in this site.

This was my first Hipcamp stay, but not first time camping. That's to say this was a great spot with well kept amenities and you really can't beat the views. Incredibly peaceful and quiet and the host was immensely helpful which was very much appreciated as I had about a 14 hour drive, 12 of which were in horrible storms. Would absolutely recommend and thank you again Lisa

First off, Lisa is an awesome person. Very friendly and very attentive. She made it easy to book and easy to find. Now, if you’re looking for a FHU “glamping” atmosphere, this place isn’t for you. This place is very secluded and private! You may have a couple of other campers near or maybe not but, it is so quiet and peaceful! It is exactly as described by her. Exactly what we were looking for. The views are absolutely amazing from the bluffs to the darkness and starry skies. The Little Dipper is extremely difficult to see most everywhere but, not here! There is an endless amount of hiking to do here. You can hike all over her property as well as other places around the area. If you’re looking for something to eat, Lisa has excellent recommendations! We took her recommendation for breakfast one day and it was amazing, both the food and the staff! If you want to deep dive into the local history, again ask Lisa, she is an absolute expert on it! We had an absolutely great time here. I’m so grateful we had the opportunity to stay at such a place and am grateful for people like Lisa that are preserving the native lands and protecting them. We will definitely try to come back!

Title touchs two highlights. Our favorite was the shower - we laughed so hard when water 1st cover's you with a coolness that not cold nor freezing - brisk. But you feel squeaky clean when done. We also got a kick watching the rabbits chasing each other. Plenty of water for you and the flower plants - give them a light drink so they are as pretty for next camper

The space was nice and the employees were very helpful with our late check-in. Clean bathrooms and showers. We were only there for a short time passing through on our long trip so we didn't get to use the other amenities but it looked like a nice place for families to camp. Easy access off the Interstate. We used a space with electric and water hook-ups. I'd stay there again.

Peaceful Prairie Campsites was an experience. The title says it all and our time there was fun. Only two other campers including us were in the (tent/camper van only) area. We had been traveling with our little trailer so we spent the night in the rv section. We basically had the place to ourselves and it was exactly what we needed. It was peaceful, no annoying campers, beautiful setting, cute little trail to explore around the campground, it’s a short drive to Scottsbluff National Monument, and Lisa was very accommodating and kind. Her description of her property is right on so don’t go in expecting KOA glamping. We are experienced campers and have camped in many different types of ways: tenting, rv-ing, boondocking, etc., so when we read the description of Lisa’s historic working farm campsites, we had a good idea of what to expect. Like others have described, Lisa’s campground is like boondocking but you have added bonuses: portable potty(was clean and did not stink unlike others I’ve been in), potable water spigot, we had electricity at our rv site, and an outdoor shower which topped off our fun time there (yes we used it, it was a hoot 🤣, it was cold, but it was all about adding to our experience and having fun, when else are you going to do that in life?) We would go back to check out the tenting/camper van area only next time since those campsites sit within the prairie.

This is a wonderful campground to get a way from it all. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the lack of noise makes this a wonderful pastoral campground to spend a day. There are no amenities beyond electric and water, so plan for that. But otherwise it is you, the open fields, wonderful scenery and a beautiful night sky. Lisa the host is very friendly and helpful as well. She personally welcomed us and showed us around. She is a fantastic host. We enjoyed this campsite so much and the next time we are passing through Scottsbluff we will stay there!
