1 night at Big Hole Boondockin'

There’s not a more lovely space to camp. If you are seeking a place to sleep, comfort, or a place to spiritually heal, this is the place. Feet from the river, you can be lulled to sleep by its gentle babbling. At night, you can see thousands of stars. If you enjoy birds as I do, then you will be thrilled as I saw approximately 30 different types of birds in a three hour time span. Do take a tour of the barnyard, as the pigs are absolutely delightful.

Weekend Trip to Creekside at Liberty Acres Bozeman

It's a nice spot. It's well within view of the road and some houses, no shade, but it's a very nice, rural area right on the outskirts of Bozeman. Easy Uber ride into town. It's a little pricey for camping, but considering the proximity to downtown Bozeman, it was worth it for me. There are two spots, directly adjacent to each other, just off a paved neighborhood road. Shared porta-potty (which was very clean). Views of open fields and mountains. 10 minute drive into Bozeman without having to get on the interstate.

The views are beautiful. Super close to I-90 but far enough away that you can’t hear the road noise. Jodi was so accommodating. I drove right past the hip camp I was supposed to be at and was heading for this second night reservation. She was quick to respond to my request to come and stay a night ahead of schedule. Site was perfect for me and my dog. Lots of walking and swimming in the river for the pooch. Felt very safe. Would stay again.

Beautiful spot to camp near the river, and Roger was great in leading us to it and chatting. Wish we could have enjoyed it more but the weather had us calling it an early night. Would definitely return to this spot if we’re ever back in the area.

Sometimes it'll be really hot, dry & dusty, other times humid & muddy, maybe even flooded in areas, sometimes it can be cold & icy. The RV Park is within a 15 minute hike of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The Boulder Hot Springs is approximately a 2-mile drive from the RV Park where you can soak in their pools always heated with thermal water. Fishing access to the Boulder River is a short drive from the RV Park. Access to off road recreation is approximately 2 miles going north or south. Helena Mt. the capital, is a 40-minute drive. Butte Mt. is about a 50-minute drive where you can see all the historic mining era. Boulder MT (RV Park) is halfway between Yellowstone NP and Glacier NP. Wildlife is abundant with mule deer and whitetails. Certain times of the year elk hang out in the hayfields which are adjacent to the park. Views of the mountains are very nice. Explore the Ghost town of Elkhorn 12 miles away. The Boulder Valley is an agricultural landscape, and with that comes Mosquitos. Please be prepared to handle them mostly June-July.

Our property is close to town but far enough out that you feel secluded. We have wonderful dark nights with amazing views of stars. There is a fishing access a mile down the road, or you can hike to the river which is approximately 1000 feet to the river. The river isn't a real deep river, a lot of people use it to float on tubes, but it has been known to have some nice fish also. The area always gets afternoon wind gusts that happen daily and don't last long but something you'll want to be aware of. On site we have available for rent 2 tiny houses and 4 Rv hook up spots. Our property also has a yurt, an additional tiny house, a skoolie and a motorhome. If you’re wanting to just get away to a beautiful spot, take a hike along the river, float the river or fish this is your place. It’s beautiful and quiet.

Learn more about this land: Our property is in a close proximity to the Fairweather Fishing access on the Missouri River. Camping is not allowed at the access so we would be the closest camping site to this great outdoor playground. There is opportunity for fishing, floating, boating, hunting and swimming in the summer . There are groves of mature trees and open sites available. This is directly off of paved county road. The property adjacent to ours has the original ranch house and barn and other outbuildings that were part of the Ponderosa Pine Ranch which owned most of the valley we're in. The ranch house and buildings were divided away from our part of the property several years ago, so we have our home here and what was mostly pasture. The campsites are all pasture grass with trees for shade. We do not have cell phone service here. We have one site that has 30 amp electricity. Also we do not have trash service .
