Please note, This campground is located in a floodplain and weather related cancellations are common. Fish, Fish, Fish. This river is primed for fishing. You will have to bring your own boat, or float as I don't have good river bank fishing access. I added a small floating dock last year to fish or swim off of. There is a state park boat ramp a short distance away. The steps in the photos are plenty sturdy to tie boats to overnight. This river is fishable with flat bottom jet drive boats most of the spring and early summer and floatable year round. You can float to your campsite and relax instead of waiting in line at the boat ramp. Also we are located about 13 miles from Crane Creek, A blue ribbon trout park. You can camp here and fish there.

We loved it. A quiet pocket of woods that feels worlds away. The campsite is old-school and unfussy—just everything you need :) —it’s thoughtfully stocked and surprisingly cozy. We went during late summer and the trees produce a flood of green, and companioned by the nearby river, it was all entirely refreshing. We loved the privacy, the walkways, a home for a fire & a canoe at the ready. If you want seclusion with a touch of trust and care, this spot is a pure woodland balm.

It's hard to beat the array of accommodations, including the shower house and various other amenities, not to mention the unparalleled hospitality at this price. It's also some of the best shuttle service downhill riding in the Midwest and one of our favorite places to spend time with our mountain biking family and friends! Highly recommend! Howler gets all of the stars!

2 nights at Howler Bike Park Stays

I was able to get a great nights sleep in my camper in the parking lot for the three days I was at Howler. My camper is 22 ft and I would not suggest that anything larger be attempted.
