We have both led lives that involved traipsing about the globe, bouncing continent to continent, but a few years ago we gave ourselves the opportunity to simplify and settle in (or, for Keith, to return to) the Ozarks. After enjoying non-commercial, owner-hosted properties in a few countries, we decided to open our doors to like/open-minded souls, to offer an escape, a place to ground and recharge. Renting and occupying the 3 bedroom, 2 bath circa 1800 early American log home is optional. Additionally, guests have access to a private creek for added relaxation. For a fee, tours of the 1800 American log cabin and a 1790 French log cabin may be arranged through the host. We had a great time here! Lots of fish to catch, and great campsite. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. The sheep and goats were fun to watch and the 2 farm dogs loved spending time with us at the campsite. If you have dogs, I would make sure they are good around animals and other dogs before considering coming out. We didn’t bring our dogs and I’m glad. I don’t think they would have done well. There are canoe rentals, farm tours, fresh eggs and more. They also have special events at the farm that look like a blast!!

1 night at Undara Studio
Keith and Benka have “piece of Eden” ! I went on a solo trip looking for some personal me self care time. I asked Keith for some options on hiking and waterfalls. He recommended the best options for me and my personal preferences. The Tipi was over the top beautiful and nestled just right within the woods. Private. Beds are very comfortable and have heaters in them for winter. The accessories for your stay are endless! ! They have remembered everything a traveler may forget. Cute grill that is private and sun room with a fridge to use. Bath house with very modern and clean !!
Owls hooting at night reminding Mother Nature works even when sun is down. Morning meditation on my own personal deck! Perfection to start the day with. Benka’s cinnamon coffee was extra special and yummy to the daybreak of peace and quiet of the new day. Keith & Benka are world travelers that have lived and captured their experiences thru out the property with books and photography . They also support Tibetan children that are in exile with a donations collected. This is an exceptional couple with kindness to share for their travelers and people of all cultures! I will most certainly stay again and again! Deep gratitude for my new friends!

Rich and Mary were very kind and enjoyable to talk to. They met us when we went to the wrong gate and showed us to our spot. We only stayed one night, but I would love to go back for a longer stay. The one thing to note was that there were a lot of bugs, but that was expected due to the location and lake. I definitely recommend this site!

Weekend Trip to Undara Studio
This was a super cool experience. We forgot so many little things and, being the amazing hosts they are, Benka and Keith had us covered. We brought along what little camping gear we had, but you can seriously show up dressed for the weather with a little food and a water bottle and you'd be set! They have thought of literally everything. We had such a good time. We even had a little rain overnight and the covers on the hammocks kept us dry, but just in case they even provide goretex sleeping bags. I really admire what these two have built, and I'll be returning in some fashion very soon! Thanks again Keith and Benka!
