All You Need is a 111 acre paradise that is home to some VERY unique and endangered habitat. Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks.
The sandhills are a "desert in the rain," home to prickly pear cactus and yuccas, abundant lichens (deer "moss"), the endangered black pine snake, and our mascot, the also endangered Gopher Tortoise.
We're a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land. Check out our sister non-profit, the Burrow Nature Center.
You will have access to our many walking paths and our swimming pond, as well as a 15 minute walk to part of DeSoto National Forest, which butts up to our property line.
We would love to have you as our guest on the land, and are especially eager to meet travelers who deeply love nature and want to live in better relationship to it!

95 acres on the beautiful Topisaw Creek. Here we've raised 5 kids and a multitude of dogs, cats and chickens and a small herd of pineywoods cattle. The woods are quiet and undisturbed , harboring native species like jack in the pulpit, trillium and Florida anise. The spring-fed (and thus always refreshing!) Topisaw Creek forms the eastern border of our property, so plan to spend time on the sandy beaches and rock bars soaking up the sun or hunting for rocks and fossils (petrified wood and arrowheads have been found here). Many folks also enjoy a leisurely float down the creek in inner tubes ('tubing') or in a kayak. (Please note that after heavy rains the creek rises to epic heights and is too dangerous to navigate.) 77 acres of rolling hills along the headwaters of Haley's Creek with a 1 m waterfall into a 4-ft deep pool and beautiful hardwood and pine forest all around. A Rustic road courses along with the creek and several offshoots for mountain biking or hiking. The waterfall and pool are a 1/2 mile hike into the property on the primitive road. Gravel is only provided at the entrance area, encircling the metal shed. Any driving off the gravel runs a risk of getting stuck in the slippery clay/mud. Rainwater barrels and 110 electricity are available at the metal shed. See dozens of tree species old and young along the creek and wildlife including turkeys, deer, bobcat, raccoons, possums, hawks, rabbits etc.

Only 2 miles off interstate 10. About 45 minutes to New Orleans. Welcome to camp or stay in your RV right on the Bayou The bayou leads to the Jordan river, Jordan River leads to the bay and the bay leads to the Gulf of Mexico takes about 30 minutes by boat or 5 miles by car. You’re welcome to go fishing we have, brackish water even blue crabs 🦀 it does require a license. Welcome to bring your boat launch is about a mile away off the 603. You can leave it docked in our yard. Under the house, there is table and chairs to enjoy the cool breeze. There is an outside cold water, shower, and a sink with cold water. One outlet to charge your phone is all the electricity available.

Site #1 was the perfect camping spot for my partner and our dogs. It was very peaceful and quiet. Easy walk from where you park to where you camp. The trails were well maintained. At night, the sound of frogs was easy to sleep to. Highly recommend. Will go back.

Very peaceful- the area is large, beautiful and relaxing. Horses grazing in the pasture, gorgeous sunrise & a friendly host made our night out camping fun. Clean restrooms available and a funny pair of donkeys by the barn. We walked the trail area with our dogs and enjoyed every moment.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed there. Again they treated us like family and with kindness and always helpful if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying here if you are camping or in a camper anywhere around Bruce and water valley. It is a very pretty piece of property with lots of places to walk on trails or ride and 2 nice lakes you can fish. It is a great place to get away and relax for a couple of days.

We stayed at camp site 8 which had the woods behind us and an open field in front. Even though we were not tucked in the woods, the spot still offered constant shade for our tent and plenty of shade around the rest of the area. Perfect spot for our trip with 2 young kids and 2 dogs. The creek was pretty cool, kids definelty could spend all day there but id highly recommend to wear water shoes in the water and on the sand/rocks.
