Weekend Trip to Twin Folk Farms

Very private site- just what we were looking for! You do get some road noise, but it’s nothing that wakes or keeps you up. Was fun to hear the neighboring sheep and cows is the morning and evening. ☺️ Suspiciously few bugs, and not muddy at all despite all the rain we’ve been getting! Just an FYI for those with bigger rigs: it’s a relatively steep driveway down into the property. It’s well graveled and we made it up in low gear 4 wheel drive just fine!

Weekend Trip to Twin Folk Farms

This was our second time staying at Twin Folk farms and our first time at their cabin. We absolutely loved it! The weather wasn't the best so we were happy we had the cabin. It was very cozy, clean, well appointed and our family of five and golden retriever had plenty of room to lounge and move around. The kids had a blast running around the trails exploring the area. We also ran into the host at their tent at the Red Wing Farmers Market which was pretty awesome! We picked up a rack of ribs which we grilled that night and it was amazing (she threw in a chicken foot treat for our dog who loved it). All in all it was a fantastic quick getaway and Darla is a great host. We will be back again sometime down the road!

My family and I really enjoyed our site. My labradors especially loved being right on Prairie Creek. There’s a bunch of trails to access from the property which was awesome. The sites were well maintained and having a cart to bring our gear back was a great surprise. I would recommend this to anyone.

This spot was perfect. The hosts were welcoming and gracious. Sweet views across a meadow of wild flowers and the walking trails were well marked and meandered throughout the 30 acres. I definitely will come again.

Weekend Trip to Lake Tommy Homestead

Beautiful lake view. Easy to get to. The host was friendly and checked in with us to see how our stay was going. In case accessibility is a concern, the path to access the lake is on the steep side. Swans, frogs and turtles all came by for a visit, it was a lovely weekend.

1 night at Lake Tommy Homestead

Adam was a great host, knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. As a single woman I felt safe there and slept really well. I was a last minute guest on a random weeknight while driving through the state and Adam was able to get everything ready for me within a few hours. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend. Level ground for my van, private and had shade. The kayak was an awesome bonus.

Weekend Trip to Stone Creek Farm

I was looking for a first solo camping experience and found Dan's Stone Creek Farm on this site. I was not disappointed! The reality matched the beautiful photos and it probably helped that I also happened to be there in spectacular weather - very warm during the day and pretty cool at night. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and smiling Dan and a flock of adorable chickens. Dan is a wonderful and attentive host and I can't recommend a stay at his place highly enough. For this gal (I am 69), it was quite a physical challenge to cart all of my things into the campsite (four trips!), but very much worth it! For a person more fit and perhaps a little younger, you may not even blink an eye. I camped at the Plum Perfect site, which is very cozy and private. The tent is spacious. The fire ring had a grill nearby. The entire property itself is absolutely beautiful and Dan does a wonderful job of having mixed plantings of lovely flowers planted here and there, along with his business of growing various stone fruits. You won't be disappointed by the rugged beauty of the campsites and Dan's warm and thoughtful conversations. I hope to return in the fall, if I can wait that long!

Great spot! Easy to find, refreshing wading for me and my pup in the waterfall, beautiful surroundings. Stephen came to greet me and answer any questions. We had a good time.

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

I stayed at mellow yellow and it was perfect! It was super not buggy as outdoor goes, but its outside so of course there are in fact bugs. My dogs and my 3 yo loved the creek and had plenty of room to run around and have fun. I was alone with my young child and 2 dogs and felt very safe here. The creek was a bit up so we had plenty to play with and the sounds of the night were amazing. I really couldn't have asked for a better camping spot!

We loved the beautiful and private cabin in the woods. The trails were a fun little adventure, and we even got to help feed the bottle lambs with Darla one morning. So fun for us city dwellers. Our 8 year old son loved the loft and I loved not having to go outside in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (thank you!). Plus, the beds were comfortable. HUGE WIN. We all had two good nights of sleep. Thank you Twin Oak Farms!

Weekend Trip to Two Bees & A Bud, Flower Farm Camp

If you're looking for tranquility, this campsite is a hidden gem. Nestled right on the lake, the views are stunning—especially at sunrise and sunset. The site was clean, well-maintained, and quiet except for birds and other animals. Definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys nature without the crowds. I can't wait to go back once the flowers are blooming to see the flower farm in full bloom!

Dan was SO welcoming and kind! The entire farm was gorgeous and filled with love, from the orchards to the campsites and beyond. Dan is eager to make you feel at home and does everything he can to make sure you have whatever you need. He even let me use his WiFi when I needed to take a business call. The campsite was easy to find with an mostly flat, mowed path. The site was quiet and personal, with everything one could think of: our own compostable toilet, a grill, fire pit, garbage & recycling cans, a picnic basket, and a sturdy box to keep your foodstuffs safe. I can't wait to go back, I feel like I found a little slice of paradise just an hour away ❤️ thank you Dan!!!!!!!

Weekend Trip to The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Very organized signs and directions to get to the site. The gate system was very easy to figure out and going past the little hobby farm of goats, chickens, horses, etc. was a joy. Fairly well groomed farm road through the woods led to a nicely open, but shady site that was tidy. Fire pit was very nice to use, some fire tools for provided along with a fire extinguisher and a picnic table at the site. Just down the road (a short walking distance) there was an outhouse and water source to wash hands as well as trash cans that made it very easy to clean up after yourself. We very much enjoyed all the bird and farm noises, the space was peaceful and private. There was some road noise but it was distant and didn't really bother us. We would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The site was amazing. The privacy on each site was great. Having the creek next to our site was very peaceful. It was our first time bringing an 9 year old dog (with anxiety) camping and he loved it. There were dogs at the other sites as well and no barking from any of the dogs. The owner came and introduced himself and made us feel welcome. Relaxing environment and great trails to explore if you like that. Lots of picture/memory opportunities. Thank you for the experience, we will be back!

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

It was a beautiful, quiet spot. Really fun to brave the creek crossing and then find such a lovely, tranquil spot. Well kept and comfortable (as much as a rustic cabin can be!) Our dog even loved getting to run around and sniff to her heart's content. Would definitely recommend this spot and would love to return.

Weekend Trip to Two Bees & A Bud, Flower Farm Camp

If you’re looking to feel like you have the entire woods to yourself, this is an excellent choice. Christine is a wonderful host- I arrived and my fresh farm eggs were waiting for me on the campsite picnic table! I brought way too much gear for a single overnight stay, but there is a handy heavy duty wagon right next to the grass parking area. It’s about a 5 to 7 minute level / easy walk to the single campsite, which is HUGE. We only used a small 3 person tent, but the pad could accommodate a mobile barracks. There’s a fantastic fire pit surrounded by several log seats, and firewood was provided! We feel asleep to a wonderful chorus ensemble including frogs, coyotes, and an owl. The campsite sits only a few hundred feet from a decent sized pond / lake- which contains so much wildlife! We woke up early and from our lawn chairs we saw trumpeter swans, a few common mergansers, herons, a great egret, ducks of all sorts, chipmunks, several deer, a muskrat or two, sandhill cranes, and a turkey! I will definitely be camping here again in the future and hopefully taking advantage of some of the unique offerings at this site (the eggs were delicious)!

Well built cabin. Well maintained. Miles of Riverbank to explore. Beautiful stream. Majestic to sit and listen to the rapids at night while sitting around a fire. My boys and I had a great time! Highly Recommend!!

We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.) We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. Prescott is near the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers and has several restaurants with both great food and water views. River Falls is on the Kinni River and has excellent food options as well as 3 breweries, a distillery and two wineries nearby. This is a working farm. Prairie Creek Campground

Hello 2025, Camping Season is Here! Pitch your tent at one of our Walk-In campsites on 60 acres of forest or hilltop prairie along Prairie Creek in Rice County, MN. Explore the creeks, trails, forest, our enormous granite "split rock", a 60 acre county park featuring waterfalls and trails, including a single track mountain bike trail. That's 120 acres of exploring outside your tent; this campground truly offers a large amount of remote forest for recreation right on site. Big Woods State Park is less than 2 miles away. Faribault is 8 miles and Northfield is 9 miles from our driveway; they offer dining, boutiques, and all other amenities. Nerstrand is 4.5 miles east and has a gas station and a fantastic meat market. Numerous Cannon River put-ins are within 10 miles. Vehicles: Our main parking area by sites 1, 2, & 3 is easily accessible. The road to the secondary parking area beside site 4 is up a steep gravel road (but it is accessible). We do not have firewood available at the campground; please plan ahead to bring firewood with you. Sites are priced for one tent, please let us know if you need to have more than one tent. Kids under 16 camping with their parents do not count in pricing. A map of the land is in the photos and shows locations of sites, parking and more. All Sites are Walk-In! We have a cart you may use to haul gear in. This campground is managed by Stephen and Molly on land owned by them and their father Ted. In 1961, Ted's parents bought this farm. In addition to farming they also operated a trail riding stable here. Over the years, the arable land has been sold, but we retained the wooded areas which are twice crossed by creeks. About 25 years ago, a 60 acre county park bordering the south and west sides of our land was created. We are very excited to host campers as a way to preserve and share this beautiful property.

The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. Twin Folk Farms

Previously a 100 acre century farm, this fertile land was tended to by generations of old time farmers. Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep. The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. You'll find a mix of modern amenities and historic shops to suit your fancy.

Our unique greenhouse and pergola are common use areas for all guests to enjoy. Explore the greenhouse production of tomatoes, peppers, and ginger growing along with flowers and other hothouse varieties. Adult occupancy is applied to 13 years and older. There is no occupancy charge/limit for children 12 years of age or under. *** We have 6 sites to offer. Providing a historical backdrop is a fully restored Norwegian cabin built in 1894 (completed July 2022). Adjacent to the greenhouse is 2 RV (or tent) sites with full water and 30 amp hookups (Meadow Camp East and West). 2 additional sites accommodate RVs or tents. (Hill Camp and Sumac Camp). One of which is a very large area that is ideal for groups (Sumac Camp). Lastly, we have 1 walk-in tent site, the most private (Pine Camp), a short distance into the woods behind the greenhouse. Don't let our sleepy little town deceive you. The locals have huge hearts - are generous creatives, with ingenious businesses that spill over with hospitality. Uber local is 2 Amish businesses within a 15 minute walk - a bakery and a woodworking shop. We're happy to direct you to other local highlights: on-farm meat sales, herbal apothecary, goat milk products, home goods, local microbreweries and quilt shops to name a few. Local town events draw huge crowds with live music and fun for all ages. We are so blessed to steward this private oasis and look forward to sharing it with you!

Enjoy a beautiful 360-degree view of rolling hills and vibrant sunrises and sunsets right from the fire ring. You'll see hundreds of planted trees around the property -- one sign of our efforts to increase wildlife habitat and the diversity of tree species present. The 300 ft gravel driveway makes access easy for cars, trucks, campers, bikes and RVs. Located just off of Interstate 94 between the Twin Cities and Eau Claire, WI, this camping site will surely please all campers who want a sense of wilderness with convenient city access. Pine Lake Rec Area is only 2.5 miles away (bring your boat or canoe/kayaks). There are three golf courses located within 11 miles of the campsite -- two 9-hole courses and one 18-hole course. The location is perfect for travelers looking for a cheap and simple place to stay just off Interstate 94 and Hwy 63.

We recommend Perch Lake which is a 15 min drive, for a great swimming and paddleboarding experience.
