Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Tent camped on site one and it was lovely! We got in pretty late so we didn’t get to enjoy the nice fire pit as we were just setting up to sleep. Got up in the AM and took a short walk to see the pretty horses, chicken, and turkeys. The turkeys have pretty big personalities! 10/10

We had a fun time at the Shady Hideaway site! My husband and I, unfortunately, had a rainstorm roll in the first day of our weekend trip, but we still had a lovely time just relaxing in the tent and listening to the rain. The site is very private and a great location to relax and enjoy a weekend out of the cities. We also got to see some super cute goats down the path!

Absolutely loved this place. The walk to the lake was really only about 3 minutes, on a well groomed path. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. Enjoyed taking the boats out and throwing our lines out a few times. The campsite was clean, large and well kept. Plenty of firewood. Extra bonus having a stocked camper there in cases you forget something. Outhouse was clean and well kept. Our host was a great communicator and had great information! We definitely plan on coming back again!! Thanks for a wonderful place💕

Other campsite was having karaoke night with a bunch of people past midnight and Jon took care of our so we could get some sleep!
Campsite 1 is on a slope so choose your tent pad wisely. Really enjoyed camping so close to the twin cities and we visited Lake George (lovely beach) and Rum River Regional Park for some biking and running through the woods on great paved trails. Water source is in the wood cabinet directly to your left through the red barn’s main door.

We had a great time! The RV was nice and had a gas stove and sleeps 4 comfortably. Lots of room for tents on the land. The short distance to the lake was awesome and we fished, watched the sunset and swam. The canoe and boat were there to use as well as lots of firewood.

We took our dog on her first camping trip and Jon's place was the perfect spot. We had plenty of room to spread out, and loved having a few tree options both for putting up our dog tether but also for our hammock. It was much more secluded than if we had gone to our local county park, but we still felt close enough to civilization that we could feel comfortable with our pup's first camp experience. We enjoyed the Turkey, as all previous reviews mentioned. We also got to meet some nice goats and visit their farm stand to pick up some coffee on our way out.
The instructions for this site were very clear and the messages/instructions we received we really helpful in helping us get to the site and know what was expected of us. The bathroom was quite nice/spacious and not too far away.
We only stayed for one night but we really enjoyed ourselves and would go back again sometime.

This location was perfect and we loved the isolated feeling! The animals were really adorable and entertaining, it’s truly a beautiful and serene property. There is a giant turkey guarding the entrance to the property, which made for some great giggles and memories. You can hear some road noise from the camp sites but it’s off in the distance.
We did have some miscommunication with the landowner, he made some updates/changes to the listing after we booked and had some conflicting information on there. Just for the record, NO CAMPERS ALLOWED. I know it says RVs and trailers are allowed on the site details - this is not the case.

Great place. Very shady, cool camping spot. Some noise from a nearby road but it died down dramatically by the time I was ready to sleep. The biggest challenge was the turkey who liked to play chicken with my truck — a very friendly big fella who just wanted to say hello.
