Also new this year is a pond, an above ground pool, a second Porta Pottie, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and a more extensive First Aide Kit, and finally a Keurig and more options at the ‘Refreshment / Charging Station’. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie and Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. It can also take a larger RV. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Inn Between the Lakes is a unique location surrounded by farm fields. It's a 1880’s farm house, old barn and newer cottage sit on just under two acres. The main floor of the home is occupied by the owner. Accommodations are available on the second floor of the house, in the cottage, and on the grounds. The upstairs second floor of the home has its own access and is separate from the rest of the house. Three private bedrooms share bathrooms and a porch/living room with a fabulous view. Completely renovated in 2023. This included adding a shared kitchenette, remodeling each bedroom, the bathroom and adding a powder room. Across the deck is the cottage. The newly remodeled suite features a king bed, cotton sheets, a convenient kitchenette, ADA friendly bathroom, private patio and deck. Set up your tent or RV under a lovely shady tree or near the limitless expanse of a waving corn field. Enjoy your morning coffee while relaxing on the large deck to the sound of running water meandering to the Koi pond. Grill steaks on one of the BBQ grills. Toast marshmallows at the little table fire pit on the the deck or down at the campfire circle. Take a stroll around the property and enjoy the gardens. Many varieties of vegetation, flowers, trees, herbs and vegetables. On the north edge of the property is the old 1900 hay barn. It was moved to the property in the 1950’s and has several unique qualities, and is available for weddings or boutique event venue.

There are 2 showering options and restroom available. You can enjoy a small fire (weather dependent) or listen to the crickets and frogs under the starry night. Actually, you can do it all. We offer trail rides on the horses as well, (extra charges). You can even book a trip to the state park to ride the horse trails, which is only 15 minutes away. There is a great fishing lake less than 1 mile from the farm, so bring your poles and kayaks. Or rent ours! There is a Dollar General, 2 gas stations, and a liquor store in our tiny little town if you forget anything. Walmart is 12 minutes North of us.

The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Half way between Chicago and Detroit is a city named Kalamazoo. Our place is near the intersection of US 131 and I-94, so whichever direction you are traveling is accessible. Whether you are heading to the beauty of "up north" or running between the big cities east and west, this is a great spot to rest and enjoy some down time. Lake Michigan is a 40 minute drive west from here and if you are a bicyclist, you can ride the Kal-Haven Trail from the trail head about 2 miles from here, all the way to the Big Lake and back (35.5 miles one way). We have trails in the woods and open fields to look over, depending on your preference. As of this year, there is no electricity and water hookup, so tents or trailers with electric and water are your option. We have a bell tent available for a single or a couple to stay. On that same site is room for a trailer or tents, if you want to invite your friends, and we've built a cooking shelter and a bath house that has a compost toilet and a shower with on demand hot water from solar energy. We have a horse farm on the property and offer horse experiences (All our activities are done on the ground near or with the horses, so, no riding is offered) at an additional fee. It is expected that you will remain outside the fence from the horses while you are staying, unless you sign a release and are accompanied by the owner to interact with them. We do not allow dogs. There are two campsites cleared in the woods, for tent camping, and more will be cleared in 2025, as time allows. There will be a bathhouse with a compost toilet and on-demand hot water nearby those campsites. If you want to stay before our build, we will offer a lower rate, but expect you to take away your own waste when you leave or clarify with us where whether there is an appropriate place on the property to dispose of it. At some point during the fall of 2025, we are placing a restored vintage 1957 Ideal camper in a separate area of the property. It will have solar power and an indoor compost toilet, with a stove and sink. It will host a single or a couple who can sleep on a full sized mattress. Another sleeping area may be offered from converting the table, but we are not sure how comfortable it will be until we've completed the renovation.

Great spot. We were the only cabin, so lots of privacy and the bathroom to ourselves. We rented a canoe and purchased firewood, they were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Lake was great to canoe around. Trail loop was short and sweet, but a nice walk through the woods. Seeing the horse get let out in the afternoon was really nice.

I don't know where to begin? The place was beautiful upon entry! Beautiful cats to play with everywhere! My son was in heaven :-) we made great friends with a black kitty named Olivia. She hung out with us while we were camping and even shared some of our breakfast eggs! The pathways were lit at night, the TP that we stayed in was and beautiful condition, clean, well stocked with cleaning supplies and a trash can if needed. We had a bundle of wood that was plentiful! The staff was extremely helpful getting me to my site and making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed! There are vegetables for sale, as well as delicious salsa! The property is extremely well kept and beautiful to look at! Very serene. We had our own fire pit and picnic table also. The campsites were very private, which I really liked. I was very happy that I did not have to share a fire pit with other campers. This was a last-minute trip for my son's 11th birthday and well worth the drive from detroit! We will definitely be back with the rest of the family! I highly recommend two chicks and a farm!

My husband and I really enjoyed camping on John's land. Everything that you need is already there, set up ready to go. The place was very peaceful and quiet. Both of our dogs were able to run around the property and enjoy it just as much as we did. I would definitely plan another stay here.

Absolutely incredible experience! Sandra was very welcoming and helped us learn the ins and outs of the land before our stay. The tent was adorable, clean, and well-maintained, and the outdoor restroom was also very clean, too. Horses made the stay extra enjoyable! Thank you:)

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

Had an amazing weekend! We stayed in Sam's Place Yurt and it was perfect for our party of 4! We loved getting to pet all the farm kitties and having all the farm birds visit our campsite. The campsite was really clean and tidy as was our yurt. We really appreciated that the portapotty was close by and also the cleanest we've ever come across, especially at a campsite! Julie was an amazing host, she was super quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We got the breakfast on our first morning there and it was exactly what we needed to get our day started! Super delicious and substantial. Overall would highly recommend 2 Chick's! We can't wait to be back for another visit!

Weekend Trip to Nature’s Refuge

What an incredible place. So peaceful, so secluded, exactly what we were hoping for. We only stayed one night for this trip, and we all wished we could have stayed longer so we will definitely be planning a longer stay in the future. The bed was very comfortable, I always worry about that when staying at places away from home. We did have to relocate a few 8-legged friends from inside the yurt when we first arrived, but they didn’t put up too much of a fight. We got rain during the night, and my new favorite thing is sleeping in a yurt while it’s raining. It was heaven. I love how the yurt is nestled under pines, it’s such a good spot.

Weekend Trip to Kalamazoo Haven

We loved our stay at this sweet farm. Sandra was so kind and helpful- as was her husband and the woman helping on the farm. The bell tent site was very peaceful with a lovely view of the meadow and tree line. We enjoyed an awesome fire at night…. and loved the presence of horses behind us in the paddock. The tent, covered kitchen area and bathroom are well thought out and so cute! We didn’t use the shower, but it was amazing that it was even an option!! The composting/cassette toilet was very much appreciated and running water to wash hands too! The kitchen area was nice in case of rain. We kept our cooler under there and appreciated the thoughtful items available to use. This was amazing glamping with true connection to nature. We hope to be back!
