We are also a County destination as a Petting Farm by appointment; providing personalized and private tours of our farm. Home to dogs, cats, miniature pigs, miniature horse and donkey, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, goats, rabbits, a small cow, and guinea pigs, & more The camp site is tucked in off the main road nearly 300 feet but accessed from our driveway. It is a 45 x 15' gravel pad behind a row of trees that runs parallel to the drive. If you park facing west your doors will be facing an old growth forest in which lies a beautiful sandy bottom creek that flows in to Lake Leelanau. We provide an off-the-ground fire pit. Wood is available for purchase at the roadside stand. When the chickens are laying we have fresh eggs available as well for sale. Potable water is available at the barn. We do provide a porta potty at the barn, as well as, filtered well water at the barn. Wineries, water, and distilleries abound in every direction. Many are within walking and biking distance. The farm is walking distance to Lake Leelanau and Schneider township park. Walking/hiking trails are available throughout the property and nearby areas. Provemont Pond which lies across M-204 is a lovely natural area with many trails. Shopping or rock hunting in historic Fishtown, aka, Leland is 6 minutes by car, a bit longer by bike. We are just minutes to several Lake Michigan beaches, Suttons Bay and Northport. Drive 25 minutes to Traverse City to the Southeast or 33 minutes Southwest to Sleeping Bear Dune climb and the quaint village of Empire. Lots to enjoy for the foodies as well. Aside from the many wineries and distilleries, you can find Nittollos italian fare and stone fired pizza. Beautiful secluded woods. Cabin was very clean with a fresh cut wood smell. Very nice to have the carport to cook under since it rained pretty much the entire trip. Pull up couch was perfect to lounge on with a book in the evenings. Memory foam topper on the air mattress made it pretty comfortable. Kerosene heater took the chill out of the air on the 40 degree nights. Plenty of space for the two of us and our Aussie. Lots of little unexpected extras. Dog toys, bowls, and bed, binoculars, candles, lantern, and strategic solar lights outside.

Amelia was great at guiding us over the phone to our remote site. We passed another populated site on our way to our area but never saw another person the whole stay. It’s very remote and peaceful. If you are accustomed to dispersed camping and looking for a high level of privacy, this is the way to go. Our site is was beautiful as well. Sunrise over native grasses and trees, on a small elevated space that overlooked the rest of the large property. Highly recommend this spot.

This site had the cleanest porta potty we have ever been in. The animals were the sweetest and friendliest we’d ever encountered on a farm! The walk to the bathroom and water area was a beautiful hike over a clear stream. The night sky was amazing. Like the pictures show it is very close to the neighbors, but the site is flat and perfect for tent camping. Would highly recommend this site and we had such an amazing experience in the surrounding areas. It’s location made it extremely easy to access all of the spots on our list like sleeping bear, fish town, leelanau state park and so many other places.

We had a great time. Nice and private. Great location The bathroom and pavalion were very handy. Numerous activities less than an hour away. Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Fishtown and The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail. The Betsie Vally bike trail is right down the street, less than 1 mile.

My boyfriend and I stopped for one night to car-camp while passing through. It was perfect! Directions were easy to follow, even in the dark. While we didn’t stay long, the site was well kept and quiet, just what we needed. We arrived late but the host greeted us in the morning and was very friendly! We definitely recommend Margaret’s place.

Margaret’s land is beautiful! We had a very nice stay. The trails were well marked, the outhouse was clean, and the campsite well maintained. It’s secluded but was also easy to get to things if something was forgotten. There are other camp sites nearby, but it still felt private for us. The fire pit was such a nice touch. We were grateful for the firewood provided. Even with some rain, we had a great stay and would recommend or rebook this Hipcamp!

This campground is great if you'd like a more peaceful environment. There are only 4 sites and each is well secluded from the others. It is easy to find of of a main road and there is a corner "bakery" super close by. The outhouse is clean and comfortable. There's also free firewood! And there is a well in the center of Honor to get free drinking water.

Purple Lantern was a great campsite. Well enclosed 270 degrees by Tall trees, allowing shade from sun in late afternoon. I did back a camper downhill into the site, but later discovered it is accessible as a "pull though" site from the main road. Margaret is delightful and was a pleasure to meet. There is plenty of available hiking on her land , and she has hand built an outhouse which is SUPER CLEAN. I would gladly stay again.

This site is accessible by a gravel driveway that leads to secluded land perfect for your camping getaway. There is tree cover, but also open areas. We have a designated area for camping that includes a fire pit, ground level metal deck, and a comfortable outhouse. There is no power or running water. Experience camping for real! (fun fact: this property has been passed down four generations of women!) We are near downtown Manton, downtown Mesick, and downtown Cadillac. Our favorite places to visit are Dayhuff lake (10 minute drive), numerous seasonal roads and trails, the Manistee River, Traverse City (45mins), Emerald Vale Golf Course (10 minutes), and Pleasant Valley Amish market for baked goods (5 min). Notes based on feedback that we've gotten from campers: -the driveway is steep, as seen in the listing photos. The recommendation for trailer size should be followed (18ft trailer max, plus 17ft car/truck). There is a corner at the top of the hill that might be tight for anything larger. I will note that there is a review where someone made it through with a 21ft trailer plus their vehicle; proceed as you will with this information.

Welcome to our camp! If you are a Harvest Host / Boondockers Welcome member you get your first two nights as part of your membership, please book those through the HH site. We have 11 acres, currently with a really ugly old farm home on site that is a rehab in progress, but a beautiful property. We are located a few miles from Torch Lake and walking distance to a public access on Elk lake. Close proximity to Elk Rapids, Alden, Williamsburg, and Traverse City and all those areas have to offer. We have water fill and a dump station on site, and we are working on electrical hook ups. Our property has many open areas to park, some very level, some not. We have woods and a large hill area with lots of birds and wildlife to see. We can accommodate large rigs, small rigs, and all in between. Pets are welcome but must be leashed as we have two of our own dogs. If you have any questions or needs, do not hesitate to ask, we will always try to accommodate. We were previous Harvest Hosts at our prior property, we have spent time as camp hosts, and have travelled the country in our RV and like to think we have a great understanding of what makes a nice camp experience and we will do everything we can to make sure that is the case, cheers! Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 5 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

Peaceful setting on 40 wooded acres that is located at the end of two county roads with virtually no traffic. Upon arriving at the property, you will enter through a gate and arrive to the secluded camp area with a beautiful, cozy full log cabin. *Please note the directions begin at the Shell Station (102 South Michigan Avenue, Manton, MI 49663) because the cabin doesn't have a physical address.* We're happy to meet you and guide you right to it! Within 3 miles you are able to gain access to State property, the Manistee River, and Chase Creek. From the trails in this area you can go as far as Houghton Lake and Fife Lake. Great area for hunting, fishing, four wheeling, dirt bikes, and hiking. This is a great getaway you don't want to miss out on!
