My husband and I loved staying here (we stayed a full 10 days)!! The campsite is very private, spacious, and relaxing!! Communication with Tabitha was great and she responded to my questions/concerns quickly!! T-Mobile cell service really wasn't too bad (it was much better than the service at our house)! We enjoyed the trails through the woods and playing with our 3 dogs in the wide open space in the campsite. Watching the turtles was also a plus! Highly recommended!!

We absolutely loved our stay on Michael’s land! We stayed at Site 9 so we had a very secluded spot with an amazing view. It was very quiet and peaceful. The only downside was it was quite a walk back and forth to the porta potty, something to keep in mind, but we didn’t mind the walk, it was nice scenery to walk through.

I'm so happy I found this spot, Michael and Dawn are such welcoming hosts, and they have poured so much love into their land! As soon as I arrived, Michael gave me and my pup a tour of the land - the animals, the garden, the walking trails, and a small history of the ongoing efforts to restore the native Michigan plants. It's so beautiful to meet folks who are such passionate caretakers of the land they live on! The campsite itself is a small opening of grass that is in front of their house, somewhat opposite from the driveway. Even though it's close to the house, it still felt private, as they planted young trees and wildflowers to create a natural separation from their gravel road. It was perfect for my minivan / car camping setup, and there's ample space for a slightly bigger setup to fit in comfortably. Being less than 10 minutes away from the highway, it is surprisingly quiet out here! On a clear night, the stars shine so bright. I loved exploring the trails with my little doggy (though be mindful of poison ivy!) and spotting deer and native birds is a promise here! I happened to stay here on the same weekend Michael and Dawn's children came home to visit - and they invited me to sit by the fire with them. They are really such a lovely family, with so many adventurous stories to tell! I really enjoyed my stay, and meeting these folks! Bonus was the flush toilet, hot shower, and laundry available to use in the garage! Great place to reset, and enjoy good vibes! 😊

This is a perfect little quiet spot to spend the night and avoid a busy campground. There are no hookups, but I wasn't concerned about that. There is a full restroom with a shower and great hot water and pressure. I enjoyed this little quiet spot and will for sure stop again if I'm passing through.

Suggested Local Attractions: The property borders a public golf course, downtown Lake Orion or Oxford are less than 1.5 miles as is public access to All-Sports Lake Orion(the lake) as well as others in the area. Dozens of miles of hiking/mountain biking trails. Bald Mountain State Park and Addison Oaks trailheads 2 and 3 miles respectively. Disc Golf courses. Public beaches, paved trails, etc. Or you can just hang out and watch the various wildlife that frequent the property. (Usually changed every 3rd guest). Ac is hooked to an extension cord . We provide a Battery pump shower where you have to fill the bag with water & foot pump sink like used at festivals. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware. *summer info : Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent. *Fall/winter info: Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. 10/12/25 The camping season in Michigan is coming to a close. We'll be open through October with full closure starting Nov. 1 through mid-March 2026. If the weather is kind, 2 sites will open, followed by the other 2 beginning May 1. Glad to be able to offer our slice of heaven to you again next year! Thank you to all who chose to stay this year. ***For the preservation of our property, our septic system, the privacy of other campers, all arrivals MUST be prior to dark setting in. If you can't see the signs & posts, you can damage our property AND your vehicle/equipment. Please see the site rules for current max time for check-in. (With changing daylight hours, this time limit will change throughout the season.) *The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox. *A small creek runs across the back of the property. *There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking. *Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake. *Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite. *Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house. *Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee). *Pets are allowed (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max). *Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. There are numerous places nearby to gather instead. This assures maximum privacy for all sites & for our family. ***SUMMER ACTIVITIES: *Howell Balloon fest in June. *Howell Melon fest in August. *Captain Frosty's Ice Cream is located approximately 2–3 miles away. They offer a variety of ice cream deliciousness, slushies, shakes, and malts. ***FALL ACTIVITIES: *U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Petting Farm next door. Free wagon rides on the weekends and a free corn maze anytime. Purchases available: pumpkins, cornstalks, Indian corn, gourds, squash, mums, honey, and other wonderful treats. *Terrified Forest and Haunted Mansion are just 1 mile away beginning around mid-September for Halloween. *Apple Orchard is 3–4 miles away. They offer apples have an organic farm stand w/vegetables.
