This off the grid cozy family owned cabin is located in the town of Sunderland, Vermont. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of national forest, campers can enjoy the sounds of a swift stream flowing nearby, birds chirping in trees, and the rustling of leaves and branches in the breeze. This mountainous area has a rich array of wildlife, meadows, trails, and only a few miles away from the Battenkill River, a tributary of the Hudson River of New York. Once inside you’ll find a small kitchen and dining area complete with a wood burning stove for those cool Vermont nights. The sleeping area offers four generously-sized bunks, a loft area, and a queen futon. Come see Lake Shaftsbury State Park! This 200 year old farm is at the top of a dead end road on 150 acres. It sits in a region of Bennington County formerly called Healing Springs Vermont. The springs that flow off of West Mountain come down through the farm and across Route 7 where they feed the picturesque state park! Best drinking water, anywhere to the left of the chimney at the white house. Arrive at our 150 acre property at the top of this dead-end road.. (Please stay left all the way up to the top...the road becomes our driveway).. Step out onto this 200-year-old farm at your own private site all of which are several acres each minimum.. Walk to streams ponds and Lake Shaftsbury State Park.

With the main house built in 1860 this property has seen many uses such as a farm, retail Christmas store, church, rental cabins, and a gravel quarry among other things. I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for habitat, as well as you the campers! Learn more about this land: I have 3 well spaced out RV sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Weekend Trip to Bent Apple Farm

Perfect snow get away. Wood burning stove and heater kept us warm, even with just one. Enjoyed listening and looking through the vinyls. Loved the hot tub after a long day of hiking and the comfy bed. The cabin was cute and felt very lived in. It was a nice surprise to see a journal of how many people stayed there, especially during Covid, very lovely notes people left! Only down side - couldn’t stop sneezing at times, lots of dust in the crevices of the wood floor and fabric. Also wish there was a bit more privacy at the door and hot tub, could see the guest next door. Overall definitely would recommend and stay again!

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

This was my second time staying at Mary's marvelous Kula Bata Tiny Cabin. It is such a peaceful palace that makes it easy to unplug and recharge, and the infrared sauna is such a treat! Mary is always so kind, attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns that arose before or during our stay. I cannot wait to return again in the near future!

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Farm

A friend and I stayed here over the weekend in mid-November. We enjoyed our trip, the cabin is cozy, and Misty was very communicative and helpful! The directions were thorough, and we had no problem using the cabin. Outside temperature was ~28-45°F, but the wood stove was very effective and the cabin became very toasty. One thing to note is that the solar-powered battery banks had little charge. The string lights only worked for 20 minutes on our first night, and their battery banks did not recharge the next day. The large solar-powered battery bank that powered the lamp in the corner had only about 6 hours of charge. We're guessing that the weak fall sun, combined with cloudy conditions, meant these battery banks didn't fully charge. This might be something to consider when packing for a fall/winter trip. We're glad we brought flashlights, a rechargeable lamp, and some pillar candles. We also brought our own kitchen supplies; not sure what to expect, but there were plenty of utensils, cookware, etc., even if we hadn't brought our own. The floor needed a little sweep when we arrived, but everything else was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time. The view was spectacular. The accommodation suited our needs. Having to outdoor compost potty with a scenic view was a plus for outdoors camping. We had heavy rain, but we were prepared. Mike had that wonderful pizza oven that we took full advantage of making so delicious pizza. We plan on returning to repeat our adventure.
