Charles “Chuck” Feeney was an aerospace engineer at the time and was always taking his kids camping. His dream was to have a place for the family to camp and call their own. So together with his wife and five children he converted a bus into a camper and carved out a site amongst the wild blueberry bushes and scrub oak trees. Our family fell in love with the island. We discovered all the island has to offer and found it irresistible. We were the tourists of yesteryear and what attracted our family back then still exists today: beautiful beaches, fabulous fishing, quaint villages, and amazing sunsets. From the rolling hills of Aquinnah to the dunes of Katama, there is no place on earth like it. Martha’s Vineyard When Chuck found out his job was relocating him to California, he made the bold move to make his family campsite and land available to you. With a lot of hard work and great family pride, the construction of Martha’s Vineyard Family Campground began. During the first few summers of construction, we lived in the converted bus and tents. Slowly the sites and the roads were carved out. Summer vacations meant clearing land and pouring cement. The campground was officially opened in the spring of 1972 and has been a family-run operation ever since. Today the campground is managed by a third generation of The Feeney Family. The goal has always been to provide a quality camping experience for families who wish to visit this wonderful island. Our cabins are located in the back of Nickerson State Park on private property. There are bike paths/fishing swimming available in the state park. Our cabins are used for our non-profit summer camp for children with serious/life threatening illnesses during the summer. There is a microwave/mini fridge and a full sized bed with two sets of twin bunk beds.

I loved this location, I’m from the town and did not realize this was available. When I pulled up there were agricultural tours going on but everyone cleared out before sunset and I was able to set up a nice secluded area for my fire, great views over the cranberry bog and located closely to convenience stores

Beautiful, and peaceful. There is a lovely driveway to down to the property, guaranteeing privacy from the road. The site itself was pretty large, and flat! Exactly what we needed for a peaceful night's sleep. Host checked in on us to make sure we had everything. Deff will book again! Our van is lifted so we may try the more remote site ☺️

We absolutely loved our stay here! The host is truly wonderful — so welcoming, kind, and easy to talk to that I she is someone I'd love to have as a friend. She was helpful, super responsive, and even provided a 30-amp extension cord, which made things so convenient. The campsite itself is spacious (easily fits two rigs — we brought our 32ft 5th wheel with no trouble) and tucked down a long driveway in the middle of the woods, making it incredibly quiet and peaceful. There’s a water hose, 30-amp hookup available for $15/night, and a fire pit to enjoy the evenings. No sewer, but that was no issue for us. Overall, it’s a beautiful, private spot with a fantastic host. We’d absolutely stay again — and likely will when we head back south!

We found this place at the last minute but were very pleased with the campground. Good central location on the island. Very quiet. No bugs. Bikes for rent that were top quality. The store is very well stocked for what you may need. Everyone was very helpful and nice. Hot showers and restrooms were fine. We stay a few nights but would see ourselves spend a week no problem.
