About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.

Fern Yabin (a hard sided yurt) is nestled in a forest on a ridge (Elk Ridge) directly across from the Maryland Appalachian Trail. We are tucked down in a holler surrounded by streams, towering Poplars, wildlife and dappled sunshine. The land hosts some animals - a goat, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks while growing medicinal plants, seasonal edible berries/fruits (wineberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, mulberries, elderberries, vine kiwi, pawpaw, etc.) and rocks (plenty of them). There is a couple of acres enclosed with an electric fence where the livestock guardian dog (Luna) roams with the animals. We also sell farm fresh eggs.
Fern Yabin is a rustic hard sided yurt style cabin that has hot and cold water, composting toilet, outdoor shower (cold water only), a indoor soaking tub, hot water kettle, an outdoor propane grill, ceiling fan, outdoor patio and fire pit, skylight, WiFi, and lots of character. The Yabin was a true labor of love built as a collective effort in community. There is a designated parking spot and a gravel path (moderate decline) that leads down to the Yabin. If you are a thru hiker, drop off and pick up is available for a fee. Please inquire upon booking.
We are 10 minutes to the Appalachian Trail (Weverton Cliffs/Gathland SP and Crampton Gap) and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers (great for tubing/kayaking/wading/swimming). There are outdoor outfitters within 15 minutes where all kinds of wonderful adventures await including a brewery with a stunning vista of the river and area. We are 15 minutes away from historic Harpers Ferry. Antietam National Battlefield and other historic sites are within 30 minutes. For amazing dining opportunities and small city life - Frederick, MD, Boonsboro, MD, Brunswick, MD, Shepherdstown, WV and Charles Town, WV are about a 30 min drive. We are also close to several state parks in the tri state area (MD, VA, WV).

The view from the campsite was breathtaking. We really enjoyed our visits. We were surprised to see some alpacas hanging out nearby and some workers met us with some alfalfa so we could feed them. Amenities are sparse (as advertised), but we had a cozy dinner and breakfast over the campfire.

I came here for a little low key solo trip and I had such an incredible time here! It’s so beautiful and magical - I spent my time sitting by the creek and walking around their property (a sweet little loop going along the creek and near a pond).
Gini and Kelly are incredible hosts — when I got to the campsite, Kelly came over and gave me a little tour and even helped me set up the camp stove when I let him know I was a little unsure how it worked. I had everything I needed: fresh linens, the outhouse, the outdoor shower, a washing station, fresh water, cooking supplies, firewood, and a cooler with ice & a camping stove (which were from an extra I added on).
They were available by text the whole time if I needed anything extra.

He is really kind and beautiful place. But To my fellow Asians, please be careful out there. Sadly, racism still exists around us. We live here because we truly love America, and I wish we could all share that same warmth and mutual respect. Today, I heard an insult so childish calling me 'fat with wet feet' that it felt like something I hadn't heard since elementary school. On top of that, even after paying for gas, I was rudely told to get out just for using the restroom briefly. It's still really tough sometimes.

This was our first stay in an RV and it was fabulous. It was well maintained, very clean, and had all of the essentials that we needed. It was a super hot weekend and the AC kept up the whole time. Pappy was an excellent host and was only a call away to answer any of our questions. The distillery tour and tasting was excellent and very detailed. Our family of 4+dog had a wonderful time at Conowingo Creek! Gini and Kelly were wonderful hosts. They have a large chicken area that our kids loved to harvest eggs from and help put the chickens to bed at night. The campsite itself is located ~300 ft from the dedicated parking spot and included a cart to easily transport all our stuff. There is some minor road noise in the area, but that didn't really bother us at all. We also opted to rent out the treehouse for our kids - it includes a queen/full bed and a little DVD TV for falling asleep to movies. We also did a little fishing and caught a little trout and several crayfish (haha). We couldn't be happier and highly recommend staying at this wonderful spot.
