We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

It’s chill! For the price it’s definitely worth it. You do get some fan noise from the farm next door thru the night but I sleep with a fan so I appreciated it. Dan is prompt and helpful throughout your stay!

Campsite was the perfect size, nice and level for our tent. Good location. Having water and electricity at the site was much appreciated. Public toilets were easy to find and clean. We felt safe. Only downside was the intermittent noise from the farm buildings across the way, but it didn’t disturb our sleep.

It was a great weekend at Tom’s. He has some construction going on for a new bath house so he moved us away from the noise and upgraded us to have electrical. His Handy man Jp was very helpful and a pleasure to chat with. This place is a campground in progress but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. Beanies beach just down the road was beautiful and refreshing. Plan on going back again!! Can’t wait to see all the new improvements. Thanks Tom and Jp for a pleasant experience.

Dan’s campsite is hands down one of the best camping experiences we’ve ever had! From making the reservation to the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was seamless and stress-free. He stayed close in contact, responded immediately to any questions we had and offered thoughtful recommendations for places to explore nearby. His communication was top-notch and made us feel well taken care of!
The site itself was immaculate, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that makes you instantly relax. Whether you’re pitching a tent or parking a camper, Dan has clearly put so much thought and care into creating a space that balances rustic charm with comfort, making it feel welcoming and accessible.
We loved the firepit area and the fact that Dan offers a wheelbarrow of firewood that he cuts himself for just $10 via Venmo! It was such a great deal, super convenient to have right at our site, and it lasted us the entire two-night stay. There are also beautiful lakes and walking trails nearby, and Dan provided easy-to-follow instructions on how to access them. Bonus: his neighbors were just as friendly and kind, making sure we were all set and felt welcomed.
What really sets this place apart is Dan himself. He’s responsive, clear with giving directions, and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. We can tell he truly loves hosting and sharing his land—it shows in every detail! Truly a hidden gem! We can’t wait to return! Thank you, Dan! 😊

I spent an overnight here on my way to going deeper into the White Mountains. The sites are spacious and well maintained and the bath house was spotless. Even though the campground is right on US Rt2 it was very quiet where we were situated near the back of the property. The location just east of the state border in Maine facilitates easy access to many recreational locales in New Hampshire's White Mountains. A one hour drive to the west side of Mt Washington (Bretton Woods & Cog Railway). Half of that to Pinkham Notch on the east side.
I highly recommend this site as either a stop over or base camp.

This was our first trip with our pop up camper and it was great. Sites were clean and clearly marked and bathrooms were super clean. River access a couple minutes down the road with a ferry service is great too. Owners of the campground were very friendly and put on a great fireworks display for the 4th.

Nice spot! Private if nobody is at the site across from you but not very private with neighbors. The fire pit was awesome Tom's suggestions for where to get wood nearby were perfect. I felt safe there and it was pretty quiet. Definitely use the second entrance for the lower field sites ( just a little further past the main one). The fireflies after dark were magical! There was soooo many.
