The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at tiny house. The home has windows on every wall, taking advantage of it's beautiful secluded spot in the woods. The hosts were not intrusive, but were quick to respond to my questions. There's generous amounts of firewood on the property and the bench near the fire pit is at the perfect slant for stargazing. Loved everything about this cabin. Perfect peaceful getaway to celebrate my good friends birthday. Wood stove heats cabin very well. Screened in porch is a nice added touch. Beds are all very comfy and it was nice having lights the worked! I would come back here again and again as it is just far enough away from civilization but also close if you needed to run somewhere for food or coffee! Also loved the amount of privacy the host gives you. I did not see the host at all during our stay but knew if we needed anything they were a call away.

I spent the weekend at Coreysha’s cabin and had a great experience. The cabin felt private, quiet, and surrounded by nature — exactly what I was looking for to unwind. Everything was set up thoughtfully with the basics like lamps, a battery pack and a small cooking area. I really enjoyed the peace and the clear night sky. Even though it’s tucked away, it still felt comfortable and safe. Would definitely love to come back.

We had a wonderful trip with the dogs, peaceful sunny days and great food was made. Vibrant wildlife was seen on all our trips during the day. We hit up all the major hiking places like dodge point preserve and the hidden nature reserve. The hosts had everything we needed and you could feel the love that this home was built with. I imagine this being their first home daily and how much work went into day to day life for them. Thank you for letting us stay there, our dogs loved the porch immensely and just slept like rocks after hikes. We solar showered and they slept, good deal. We would Love to come back!

WELCOME to Happy Hippie Lane Maine! Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. We have an 8X8 cabin available in a small grove on the edge of our homestead/medicinal herb farm. The cabin has a full size bed (bring your own pillows and bedding) with some floor space for a small cot or sleeping pad. The space allows for two adults and two small children, anymore than that would be very tight. The cabin is insulated so the road traffic isn’t bad but it is noticeable at certain hours when the window is open. There is a large parking area with about a 100 yard walk across a lawn and then another 100 yard walk through an uneven wooded trail to the cabin. We have two composting toilet outhouses available for guests use that we take care of on a daily basis.Inside of our large greenhouse, there is a hot water outdoor semi-private shower, only biodegradable soap that we provide can be used. There is also a kitchen and seating area in the greenhouse with a propane grill, toaster oven, microwave and electric kettle and small coffee maker/French press. The greenhouse is a communal space that our family uses as a wood shop and greenhouse space so while the kitchen and shower area are kept clean and clear for guests, the rest of the greenhouse is a working space that can be in various states depending on what projects we have going on. Dogs are allowed but they need to be leashed due to our free ranging ducks and the closeness of the road. We can occasionally provide eggs and some veggies and herbs for tea for a small fee if it’s arranged in advance.We provide a fire pit and kindling but ask that you bring your own fire wood that has been purchased in the area so as not to bring in any new pests.The parking area is large enough if you want to bring a boat or trailer.Our spot is 3 miles from downtown Freeport and is located near a commuter road so it’s easy access to many spots.Freeport is a coastal town with two state parks, lots of great diverse trails which are well maintained and lots of restaurants/breweries. You can find our listing there (calendar blocked off) with lots of reviews.Learn more about this land:We have an 8X8 cabin available in a small grove on the edge of our homestead/medicinal herb farm. The cabin has a full size bed (bring your own pillows and bedding) with some floor space for a small cot or sleeping pad. The space allows for two adults and two small children, anymore than that would be very tight. The cabin is insulated so the road traffic isn’t bad but it is noticeable at certain hours when the window is open. There is a large parking area with about a 100 yard walk across a lawn and then another 100 yard walk through an uneven wooded trail to the cabin. We have two composting toilet outhouses available for guests use that we take care of on a daily basis.Inside of our large greenhouse, there is a hot water outdoor semi-private shower, only biodegradable soap that we provide can be used. There is also a kitchen and seating area in the greenhouse with a propane grill, toaster oven, microwave and electric kettle and small coffee maker/French press. The greenhouse is a communal space that our family uses as a wood shop and greenhouse space so while the kitchen and shower area are kept clean and clear for guests, the rest of the greenhouse is a working space that can be in various states depending on what projects we have going on. Dogs are allowed but they need to be leashed due to our free ranging ducks and the closeness of the road. We can occasionally provide eggs and some veggies and herbs for tea for a small fee if it’s arranged in advance. We provide a fire pit and kindling but ask that you bring your own fire wood that has been purchased in the area so as not to bring in any new pests.The parking area is large enough if you want to bring a boat or trailer.Our spot is 3 miles from downtown Freeport and is located near a commuter road so it’s easy access to many spots.Freeport is a coastal town with two state parks, lots of great diverse trails which are well maintained and lots of restaurants/breweries. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

My step Dad Bob ‘discovered’ the island in the 1970’s when he was escaping the rat race and looking to get ‘back to the land’. Over the course of three years he built the island house by floating cedar logs across the bay, using a come-along to bring the up to the land, debarked and prepped them for building and set about constructing his off-grid, solar powered home. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!
