Home to black bear, local mammals , and our favorite, wolves. Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. We are third generation Randalls to own this 100 acre farm. We love the property and we are creating an event venue space. On the farmhouse side we have an original 1800s barn. We are building a large pavilion for events. Behind this area there is a rolling hill which overlooks Dixmont mountains. Across the road, is a large, flat field with small farm pond with tree swing, rustic arbor and historic farm equipment. We are just a few miles off I-95 both north and south bound. The farm is just a few miles away from Plymouth Pond, Etna Pond and just about 10 miles away from Newport with ATV trails, Sebasticook Lake and main direction to enter the lakes/Appalachian Mountain region. Stay to visit nature or stay for easy access to the Bangor Waterfront, Cross Insurance Center or the Children's Discovery Museum.

Come enjoy some Wild Maine blueberries picked fresh from our farm or you can grab a rake and harvest your own! Blueberries are in season during the month of August and tapers off in September. We are located close to Ralphie's General store and cafe. He has gas, diesel and and bait to fish from many of our local ponds. He also has everything you need to outfit your camping adventures. Long Pond and Dow Pines recreation area is a 10 minute drive from camp to swim, fish and get ice cream. The Union River is nearby also for swimming and fishing when in season. The Airline Brewing Company, next to Ralphie's, is open from Thursday to Sunday with an amazing selection of fresh crafted micro-brews and offers amazing food from Matt the chef and his great team. Foraging is nearby on Amherst Public Lands when in season, with many delicious edible mushrooms abound! We also have great rock climbing just up the road in Clifton (Cliff Town). We are a great base camp for climbing and a dip in Park's Pond to cool off afterwards :) Acadia National park is a 1.25 hour drive and a straight shot from our camp. I have 4 generations of roots in Aurora and would love to tell you the history of the area and our blueberry farm. We have 6 beautiful new campsites. A beautiful island campground thickly forested with spruce, fir, and birch, Four Acre Woods was created over 60 years ago on Sunshine Island, Maine. Under the name Sunshine Campground, it hosted people from all over the world and delivered the spirit and essence of this ancient, abundant land that so many ancestors had roamed and celebrated before. It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Eventually, the presence and opportunity of the campground caught their attention and after working out the technicalities, they worked together to bring this beautiful land and campground back to the people under its new life and name, Four Acre Woods. Well it’s off the beaten path and very private and quite and time to enjoy the out doors and Acadia and Bar Harbor lots of fun brings your tents get ready to campLearn more about this land:This 12 acre lot in Otis Maine is the best of both worlds. Located about 10 miles from the Otis General Store that offers gas, propane, lunch counter, deli and grocery items, you will not go without. The camper/cottage site is on private land that is heavily wooded and great for hiking and exploring. Please take note: this is not the kind of camp site you can safely and easily find in the dark if you have never been here before. I highly advise to arrive during daylight. There is a spot to pull into the front right of the lot with an additional 1-2 spots directly across the road. Feel free to bring your own tents to set up on the property. At night it will be just you with the trees and stars, sometimes wild creatures who live in the forest pass by so please keep any food in your car or in animal proof containers. You will find many hiking trails in this area located on route 180 and on route 9. Located about 30 minutes from Bangor and the international airport, 20 minutes from Ellsworth and 55 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Before you make a reservation read the description of each site. Read all of the info, when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets traveling with you.? What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer.? Including this in your original request will speed up your site acceptance. Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to black bear, local mammals , and our favorite, wolves. Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing be sure to read all the information. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we can connect you with a local gear renter who can supply you with a basic box of necessities including a tent. Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. Wild Maine Blueberry Camp!

Greetings Hipcampers! We are located in beautiful Aurora ME 28 miles outside of Bangor along route 9 headed towards Calais and the Canadian border. Come enjoy some Wild Maine blueberries picked fresh from our farm or you can grab a rake and harvest your own! Blueberries are in season during the month of August and tapers off in September. We are located close to Ralphie's General store and cafe. He has gas, diesel and and bait to fish from many of our local ponds. He also has everything you need to outfit your camping adventures. Long Pond and Dow Pines recreation area is a 10 minute drive from camp to swim, fish and get ice cream. The Union River is nearby also for swimming and fishing when in season. The Airline Brewing Company, next to Ralphie's, is open from Thursday to Sunday with an amazing selection of fresh crafted micro-brews and offers amazing food from Matt the chef and his great team. Foraging is nearby on Amherst Public Lands when in season, with many delicious edible mushrooms abound! We also have great rock climbing just up the road in Clifton (Cliff Town). We are a great base camp for climbing and a dip in Park's Pond to cool off afterwards :) Acadia National park is a 1.25 hour drive and a straight shot from our camp. I have 4 generations of roots in Aurora and would love to tell you the history of the area and our blueberry farm. We have 6 beautiful new campsites.
