Meadow Vista and Garden views With Composting Toilet, No Electricity and No Running Water! • The wall does lift up and down so you can be closed in if it rains but I leave it open most of the time to allow air flow. • There is a fire pit and two chairs available at the cabin for you to cozy up or cook your food. If you would like a wheel barrow full of firewood provided there is some available on site for a small donation. • There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use. • There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors. • Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails. • Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions). • A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. I you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo! • No electricity at the cabin or on the property • No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water. • The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The land our farm is on has been in my family for generations.   It was originally part of my Great Grand Fathers dairy farm.   We took over this section of the land to create our own farm several years ago.  We raise beef, pork, chicken, and goats to sell.   We also have several horses on the farm.    The camping spot has been used by our family for years hosting “back forty” parties and weekend getaways.  The pond was dug by my grandfather over 40 years ago for irrigation.    It is no longer used for that and has become a wonderful frog pond that is stocked with trout.    Over the last few years, we upgraded the camping area with a shed, outhouse, fire pit and granite bench, and a bean hole bean pit.  The shed is used for firewood storage and other camp items.     We have direct access to the ATV/Multi use trail system that can take you all over Central Maine.   We have mowed waking trails around the property and acres of woods to explore.

Weekend Trip to Back Forty Camping at its best

Amazing spot! This was one of our best Hipcamp experiences. Quiet, private spot with amazing sunrise views. Cory was very communicative and gave great directions. The site is located back from the road and working farm so you feel remote. There are tons of amenities in the area, and it was a great place to explore Moosehead and the Belgrade areas. We can’t wait to return.

Weekend Trip to Mullen Grove

Wow! Where does one start. It was the most peaceful 4 days I have had in almost 40 years. Everyone there was so nice, friendly and engaging. My dog and I enjoyed walks around the property and just relaxed. The accomodations were perfect, clean and just overall fantastic. I would definitely encourage everyone who is visiting the area to stay here. I have already started scheduling my next visit and will without a doubt stay there each time I visit which should be several times in the coming 12 months. Summing up the entire experience in 2 words would be .... Absolutely Wonderful! Thank you again Rebecca and please continue to push forward on your projects as daunting as they may seem at times. Looking back you and everyone who stays there will appreciate everything even more knowing that it was built by hand and hard work. Thank You so much for making our getaway absolutely perfect!

I had a blast at Mullen Grove.. the property's buzzing with projects I love the commitment to recycling things a short stroll away are the 2 stunning Blue ice cold springs... One is large enough for a full cold dip and other is perfect for a chilly wade while standing up. The cabin is super cozy and relaxing. Will go there again recommend it . Very nice and reasonable thank you Rebecca
