With a nearby brook, pond and within 20 minutes of some of our favorite ski locations it was just right. The rules of this law are simple. Be considerate and thoughtful. Don't damage nature and other surroundings. Leave the landscape as you would want to find it. Leave no trace. You may put up a tent, or sleep under the stars, for the night anywhere in the countryside, forests or mountains, as long as you keep at least 500 feet away from the nearest inhabited house or cabin. This rule of 500 feet distance also applies to camping cars and caravans. If you want to stay for more than two nights in the same place, you must ask the landowner's permission, except in the mountains or very remote areas. Well, we've taken care of all those Allemannsretten rules for you. We invite you to our small part of the world and encourage you to exercise your right to roam. My husband and I stayed for the weekend and had such a relaxing time. You’re truly alone (aside from a neighbor going by a couple times a day, but that wasn’t a big deal. If anything, it was comfort just in case any emergencies happened.) It was incredibly peaceful with the sound of the stream. A beautiful walk up to a gorgeous pond with a small mountain in the distance. Nice campfire with a grate that swivels for cooking over the fire. The platform you can set your tent up on was fantastic! The site would be a great spot for star gazing because of the lack of light pollution, but it was cloudy every night for us. We will most certainly be back!

This site was an absolute slice of heaven! It was incredibly peaceful and quiet, definitely the most private site I have camped at. Renting kayaks is a must, the pond is beautiful! Bugs in late september were nonexistent. The site itself is set up very nicely and had everything we needed. Will 100% be coming back!!!

Breathtaking views of the mountains and very private location. Wide open dirt area that was cleared on a hill side, with plenty of space for several tents/campers, plus a grassy area to the side. Great fire pit area w/ a metal grate available for cooking. Composting toilet available plus outdoor shower and sink. Driveway is gravel and goes up a semi-steep hill, but was completely fine with our jeep and pop up camper. Foliage just started recently and this weekend was a perfect time to visit! Sunsets are stunning at this site. Ty was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly with any questions we had. Thank you for a great camping weekend!

Wow! Stunning views. Supreme privacy. Great communication with the hosts. Everything we look for in a spot. Our dogs were able to run free. We could walk to the outdoor shower naked :) The driveway was steep but not an issue for our F350 and travel trailer. Great location - we needed more time to explore. Would definitely come back. We had a great night on David's property. Their garden and field of sunflowers were beautiful and the site was very private and perfect for our group of four people and four dogs. They kindly tied their dog up so that it wouldn't venture over to our grumpy dogs. The tent sites were level and the perfect consistency for putting in stakes, the firewood was very dry and easy to access, and we bought a lemon blueberry sourdough and some jam at the farmstand that we enjoyed! The picnic table, which looked new, was very nice and the toilet is the nicest toilet I have ever seen camping and deserves a shout out of its own. David was also extremely responsive on the app and was very accommodating of our last minute reservation! We hiked up Singlepole Mountain to the quarry on our way out (about 15 mins away) and got a great view from only about a mile of hiking.

This is our second stay! We will be back again next year! The walking trails are our favorite, we love to forage and this is totally the place! The garden is beautiful and the sites are very good sized and spaced out enough you’d never know other people were there! The primitive shower was a great addition this year! It was easy to use. They supplied a lot of things including tents screen, tents, and chairs! Too bad we didn’t get the chance to buy any of the delicious baked goods at the farm stand, but they sure looked delicious! We can’t wait to come back again for our annual family camping trip!

Welcome to a privately owned 200+ acre haven with miles of dirt roads to explore. This land is intended to help folks get back to the basics. Camping in Maine used to mean packing up the rig, grabbing the Maine Gazetteer and driving around until you found a vacant public campsite. Sadly, those public sites are rarely vacant anymore and you need to plan well in advance to reserve an ideal site at a state campground. Public campgrounds serve their purpose but they don't offer the backwoods camping experience that so many families enjoy. So, my family would like to introduce you to Jay Birds Way. Conveniently located at the top of Murray Street and only a couple minutes from downtown Bingham. The winding dirt roads are perfect for a bike ride or hike. Watch your dog flush a partridge or your little ones explore beautiful Jackson brook. Quiet solitude is what you will find here. There are no motorized sports allowed on this property. Sorry, but ATV access is not available. North Country Rivers is only 5 minutes away for your rafting experience or to visit Patrick's Pub. Wyman lake has a wonderful public swimming area and boat launch 15 minutes away in Pleasant Ridge and the Bingham Kennebec River boat launch is just a few minutes away. Bingham in centrally located to some of western Maine's favorite destinations such as Rangely, Sugarloaf, Flagstaff Lake, Jackman and beautiful Moosehead Lake.

Lovely spot behind our home, available to travelers for tenting or RV. A safe place to stay as you're stopping through. Exactly 4.8 miles from the 295 off-ramp and Route 1. A private wooded lot on a road with farms and woodland. Some road noise from Middlesex road during commuting times that quiets down for sleeping. Topsham is lovely and I'm grateful to live here and share this space with travelers! My site is designed to be low-priced, easy in-out, and a convenient stop-over for the traveler. Learn more about this land: Camping area is ~1 acre. Total property size is 3.5 acres. Keep on property please. Water and respite available here for a day or two, if this area is your destination or if you're on the road toward an adventure. A single private site. We are not a campground, this is the back part of our land that we hope to offer as respite and safety for travelers looking for this kind of place to stay. We give absolute privacy to campers in the hours 4pm-11am. Please consider that we might be on the lower property during the middle of the day: 11am-4pm, which matches most of our visitors needs as they are using the property as an evening and morning stopover. Things to do in area: Midcoast Maine has an endless bounty of treasures for visitors in all seasons. The lovely Head of Tide park with a small waterfall is 2.2 miles to the west. Grocery: Our towns (Topsham and Brunswick) have several grocery stores: Hannaford, Shaw's, Market Basket, and a wonderful natural foods store.  We have many farm stands with organic and locally grown produce closely nearby - ask us to help you locate them! There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain. From 5 Kezars rd turn right onto Kezars Ridge Drive, the last camp road before the pavement ends.) At 0.6 miles keep right onto 5 Kezar Ponds Road. Look for a GLLT sign on the right. This is the Mountain Trail. There is a second access 0.5 miles farther west on 5 Kezar Ponds Road for Ron’s Loop. Here is a link for all Lovell Land trust trails: https://www.gllt.org/five-kezars-reserve 2 Local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles (n a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs. Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others. My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable. There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes. The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $5 per bundle. The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!
