Natalie's land is the culmination of a dream - a farm near Nashville with wide open space, hills, forest, pond, waterfall and a beautiful clear, clean creek for wading!  This will be an organic farm and a songwriters retreat!  Come stay with us and visit Music City too if you want - only 25 minutes down the road!Learn more about this land:The land is beautiful and peaceful...  And totally overgrown because we want to transition it to organic. :) We bought it last year and are resting the land so it's crazy wild.   There are some big paths bush hogged throughout so you can take a walk/hike and the creek is stunning!

Located in  historic Cross Plains 30 miles North of Nashville.  Beautiful, peaceful location with friendly, helpful people close by. Monday morning (8/21/17) we will have scrambled eggs, pancakes and fruit for $5 a plate!  Dunkin Donuts coffee, Sodas and water are also available for $1 ea. Pet sitting available for $30 a day.  Come join us!  It's going to be a great time!!

Fern Brook Nashville

This 37-acre timber farm was once part of a huge plantation owned by one of the first settlers in Tennessee. It is now registered and part of a Timber Forestry program with many old-growth trees (Tulip Poplars are Tennessee's state tree and there are some big ones here). There are steep hills and creeks weaving throughout this property. I love coming out here and escaping the city as you feel like you are deep in the woods yet still close to Nashville, Hendersonville, Old Hickory Lake and I-65. This property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of timberland which accounts for all the wildlife in the area.

Pitch your tent, hang your hammock, or camp in your vehicle and listen to the year-round spring-fed streams. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but know that you are still an Uber/Lyft ride away from downtown Nashville. You are also close to everything in Hendersonville, White House, Goodlettsville, and Old Hickory Lake.

1.5 miles from one of my favorite coffee shops, Authentic Coffee Co., and a handful of local restaurants (White House Pizza is a great one too and not far away). This campsite is on a 37-acre tract in the Timber Forestry program so it is all mature trees, hills, and creeks. 

More info on the property:

There are nice year-round creeks so you'll always have water. Plenty of firewood laying around from fallen branches and limbs. Please don't cut into any live trees though. Each site is clearly marked and has a designated area. Please try to stay around your campsite out of respect for other campers. Each site has plenty of space.  Don't be surprised to see animals, beautiful birds, and all kinds of wildlife. You'll also hear the woods come alive at night, especially the frogs during the spring and summer. The Owls are my favorite though. 

Details on the sites:

There are 2 campsites close enough should you want to book multiple sites with a group, but far enough away where you will not be disturbed. Campsite #1 is the first campsite which is tucked in between two large hills right alongside a creek. Campsite #2 is a little further back in the property alongside the creek. This is slightly more open and right on the creek as well. Both sites have plenty of good spots for a tent or hammock. You can drive and park at both sites as long as you have decent ground clearance (Examples of vehicles that have stayed: Toyota Highlander, Honda CRV, Subaru Outback, Jeeps). Many cars including a Toyota Prius have also made it back though. 

I am constantly improving these campsites so expect tables, shovels, and all kinds of things to make your camping more enjoyable. There will also be new campsites coming soon, including an off-grid tiny cabin, and primitive sites that would require a hike to access.

A few areas to choose from. Either are beautiful!

String lights are up at the site so you can bring an inverter generator or battery pack to power. This is where campsite #3 is will be soon. It will be the largest of them all. 

I am guilty of laying in a hammock all day next to this creek. It will put anyone to sleep.

Camp Nashville Highland Rim

Primitive camping near Nashville on a secluded hilltop nestled in a hardwood forest.

Flat areas for tents, car / van camping, and trees for hammocks.
Plan to carry your trash out with you. Do not leave trash on property.
Please read all details / rules, and share with family or group. 

Drive to camping location. First arrive / first choice of favorite of available spaces upon arrival. Spaces are not numbered or pre-assigned.  Camping guests supply camping gear. No gear rental available.

Amenities: 2 community water hydrants, community vault toilet, fire pit at each site. Firewood bundles available for additional fee on HipCamp or VENMO. Five gallon bucket equals a bundle. Firewood located in rack at top of hill.  Return bucket if used to carry firewood.

Outdoor hot water heater for shower Apr-Oct, after forecasted freezing temperatures. Kid friendly. No extra charge for children. (verify not charged for children if selected.)

Camping location north of downtown Nashville on a ridge at a higher elevation overlooking Nashville. Camp away from noisy highways, convenient to I65 near multiple amenities, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops . 5 miles from three I65 exits. 14 miles from I24. 18 miles from I40. 18 miles from Nashville downtown riverfront. Uber or Lyft to Nashville available.

Check in & out times are flexible. Quiet hours after 10PM. If you're hanging out or arriving after 10PM.... keep it quiet for other guests. 

Pets permitted under owner supervision. Clean up after pets, and do not allow pets to interfere with other guests. 

Please be sure all guests know camping rules!

Do Not Leave Trash!! Trash policy is carry in / carry out with you for disposal somewhere else.   Trash service is not provided as part of camping fees.  
$50 trash disposal will be requested if trash left on property. 

Vault toilet works on a septic system and is not pumped. Only place toilet paper in toilet.  Wipes, feminine products, excess tp should be placed in trash can outside vault toilet (only trash exception). 

Do not burn noncombustible items. materials or cigarettes in fire pits or leave trash in firepits. Only firewood or ashes should remain in firepit.

Do not use knives, hatches, axes, saws on live trees. 
This will be considered damaging to property. 

Twisted River

A recent addition to our already spacious and secluded bed and breakfast.  A tremendous wooded area with trails, woods, water and an awesome camping/fire pit area!  If you enjoy watching the stars after a delicious, over the campfire cooked meal, you'll love the sights, sounds and smells of backwoods Kentucky. The land is bordered by a winding, twisting river that is ample enough for bathing, boating and/or fishing that seems to go on for days. Idea for overnight stays, weekend getaways or family or group gatherings.Learn more about this land:A long flowing log trail that travels through gorgeous woods and time then temporarily halts at the centerpiece campsite for fire, food and laughs.   Space around a stone framed fire pit for up to 5 tents to enjoy peace or family at the same time.  Off you continue along a groomed 4 wheel trail that guides you past our deer plot, beaver workings, stretches of wild low lands and a refreshing creek for swimming, fishing, boating, you name it!  The main camp site is about a :15 minute hike off the main road but close enough to receive support if required.

Low water at Twister River.  Here we have kayaks, fishing, swimming and wading depending on rain.  In addition, we have a campsite adjacent the water for day lunches or night star gazing.

Our main site that would manage a couple of vehicles, tents  and/or campers.  This site is the hub where our trail splits and takes hikers through our woods or down to the creek, could be traffic as other campers/hikers pass by.  Awesome fire pit!

Another great site close to the creek, may get visitors since the creek is a welcome spot for all of our guests.  (**This site does flood after several days of rain and will require 4x4 for access.)
