Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. Our property, Plantasia, is thirty-five acres of hardwood forest, lined with limestone boulders and sandstone cliffs, the occasional old growth tree, and mineral springs pouring out pure delicious water. The rest of the property is an old Appalachian homestead, featuring organic gardens and orchards, two farm cats and one farm dog, bee hives, and a flock of domestic ducks. The stewards are Phil, Sacha, four year-old Aurora, and baby Arthur. We are particularly keen to welcoming other families and/or folks who live in relative sobriety. The springs feed into creeks which criss-cross the wildflower meadow, creating spaces to splash and explore with the minnows, crawdads, frogs, snakes, and whoever else you might find. Plantasia is also a short drive from Berea, the folk art capital of Kentucky, which features plenty of local shops and restaurants, as well as some beautiful trails on the outskirts of town (Brushy Fork for a relaxing stroll, or pick your trail at the Pinnacles for a big majestic hike). As well, Owsley Fork Reservoir, 15 minutes away, functions as a gorgeous mountain lake to fish, kayak, or canoe.

Amazing spot for groups or overlanders looking for a quiet place tucked away in the woods. The Filipino food truck and lumpia were just a bonus, this place is quiet and hidden. The campsites are well established with fire rings, there was firewood available, porta-johns, and fantastic stargazing and nature viewing. This place is a perfect getaway and a hidden gem, I can’t recommend it enough as an avid camper and overlander who spends a lot of time exploring hipcamps. One of the best I’ve ever been to!

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay. The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch. The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

Weekend Trip to Wow Mountain Resort

Super cool cave off the beaten path. Quiet area, expansive wooded area. Water flows near the entrance to the cave - pretty cool. Nice platform to set tents up on. Functions well as a camp shelter during rain, but can become smoky with a fire going. Cool Hipcamp, would stay again!

Little grove of trees was a perfect place to set up the hammock.

Weekend Trip to Red Haven Farm Rustic Camping

This was our second trip to Red Haven Farm, but this time we cold weather camped. It was Nov 1st when all the leaves were changing, and we had the campground to ourselves. The view was especially beautiful with the orange and yellow trees and mountain off in the distance. We set our jeep up nicely to sleep in and brought a portable camping toilet we set up under a tarp. If there are other campers, you'll want something more private than we had. I highly recommend bringing a tarp or canopy too if you suspect rain. A steady rain came in at night, and it kept us dry when needing to use the camp toilet. The rain hitting the roof of the jeep was so peaceful & lulled us to sleep. There are nice picnic tables here too. I recommend bringing camping chairs to sit around the fire pit, as it is a little distance from the picnic tables. On this trip, we hiked the creek a second time all the way out to Red Lick Creek. Red Lick is deeper in spots and runs faster, but it's a nice hike out to it's edge. The fall colors made it even more special this time. I highly recommend muck boots as there are some deep puddles in making your way out there. It's not too far though. If it's fall, I recommend going at noon or earlier so as not to get caught in the dark, especially if you want to take your time. We have hiked it in a few hours at 3 pm, taking our time looking at rocks, but started to lose daylight quickly when we got back. You can hike it faster, but what's the point of that. lol Enjoy it.

Weekend Trip to The Kilns @ The Red River Gorge

Our little family stayed here in our pop-up camper, and it was nothing short of magical. The hosts were absolutely amazing — so kind, accommodating, and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and even met us upon arrival to help us find the spot and get parked easily. The campsite itself felt private and peaceful, surrounded by trees and nature with plenty of open space for our two-year-old and our dog to run, explore, and just be free. It was the perfect mix of seclusion and comfort — quiet enough to feel like our own world, yet close to everything we wanted to do near the Gorge. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere, the hospitality, and the natural beauty all came together to make this one of our favorite camping trips yet. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind and enjoy the outdoors near the Gorge, this is it. We can’t wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Savvy Retreat

Beautiful property! My husband and I brought our two dogs for a peaceful weekend in our travel trailer. The location had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed several hiking trails in the area, grilled delicious meals under the large shelter, and relaxed by the fire with a perfect view of the stars. This location exceeded our expectations and the onsite bathroom was a bonus! We highly recommend this spot and will be back next fall!

1 night at Serenity Camp

I loved tent camping here at the beautiful Majestic Views! Instructions were very clear and the host, Jamie, was very helpful. I didn't plan a great time to go weather-wise, and it was raining pretty much from the time I arrived to when I left the next day. Still, I was determined to see my camping trip through after the drive down there and I ended up having a great time. Jamie let me stay at a spot where they was a small shelter which some hay bales were being kept under, so I was able to pitch my tent under there and avoid getting soaked. Ended up having a very cozy little set up there right next to the pasture where the horses were out. Despite being in view of the farmhouse, the spot was still very private and secluded. What a gorgeous place- the rolling hills, autumn trees, and even the grey, rainy sky were stunning. Was able to enjoy a very peaceful night. In the morning, I got to hang out a bit with one of the dogs who came down to my camping spot and ended up staying for a while- much to my joy! Very close to the Natural Bridge park so I went hiking the next day after checkout. Thank you Jamie, I hope to be back again sometime when it isn't quite as rainy!

3 nights at The Kilns @ The Red River Gorge

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at the Kilns on our most recent climbing trip to the RRG. Kim was kind enough to meet us upon arrival (even though we showed up late in to the evening) and showed us to our site as well as giving us a rundown of the campground. The site was large enough for our small pop-up camper and a few trucks with plenty of room between sites. There was a very clean port-a-john close to our site which was very convenient for a primitive campground. The location, hospitality, and amenities were amazing. We will be staying there again and would recommend it to anyone!

Weekend Trip to The Harrican Lakehouse

My parents, myself and two dogs had an awesome weekend at the Harrican Lakehouse. It was super quiet, restful and exactly as marketed. It was chilly at night and we all stayed super cozy in the house and by the fire. The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to bring your own pillow and coffee pot if you and your guests drink multiple cups. The one provided is just a little small.
