It’s also dog-friendly, with some areas allowing off-leash dogs. When you drive onto the property you will take the first left and follow the grave towards the pond then take a right, drive past the garden, past the fire pit and toward the trees. From there you can pick your spot to spend sometime enjoying the great outdoors.

Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods. The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life. We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

Take in a view of the bright night sky you just cant get in the city. Only 1 minute off the highway and only a quick walk to the main house in case of an urgent need. Perfect spot to stay a night if you're traveling across the state and don't want to stay at a busy campground. There are other houses nearby, but only home you can really see is ours from the site. We are careful to ensure our camper's privacy during their stay! ***We are not allowed to offer tent camping at this time due to Hip Camp's requirement of a toilet. We are working to find a solution that meets Hip Camp's policies.***

Hayseed Farm

We are the Hayse Family and we recently moved from New Braunfels, Texas to Derby, Kansas. Why leave the excitement of one of the fastest growing areas in the country for Derby you ask? The answer is two fold. Family – we have family all over Kansas and for years have been driving 10 hours for every holiday. We finally decided that our time is just too precious to be spending that much of it on the road. While we miss our Texas friends dearly, we are so happy to finally be close to family! Homesteading – we have always had the dream of raising our own food. We found a beautiful piece of land between Derby and Rose Hill. We are renovating the house first and then will focus more on the homesteading efforts. We currently have chickens, goats, a garden plot, and fruit trees. All our animals will be pasture raised and all our food will not be treated with anything harmful. We sometimes have pigs and by the end of the year hope to have least one dairy cow.
