Large secluded cove near our barn and garden. Watch the sun come up from the orchard. There is 1 electrical plug so not all 3 spaces have electric but you can run a cord. There is also a single water spigot to share as well. There are 2 houses somewhat visible through the trees but no direct line of sight and otherwise private. We have 2 dogs, Whiskey and Barb, Whiskey will usually keep her space but bark, if you ignore her she will be friendly, acts mean but never bites. Barbara is a Jack Russell. She will jump in the truck if you don't tell her not to and will happily run off with snacks. We ask you please don't feed them as it will teach them to come for food and some people don't appreciate the dogs.. This is a farm so you may see and smell animals. Depending on when you book you may even be somewhat near animals. Be aware of this and be ready to keep dogs contained. We typically run pigs in the woods around the cove but we move them regularly and keep the smell to a minimum by doing so.

We offer five powered campsites and numerous options for primitive camping lakeside or riverside. Please note that there are no direct water hookups, so be sure to bring your own water for your stay.

Choose to camp in a highly frequented deer area by the driveway or walk back to the orchard. Each campsite is private, ensuring you won't have anyone camping right next to you. Sites accommodate from 3 to 7 tents, each with its unique charm and surrounded by ample firewood.
Experience the natural habitat of foxes, deer, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, owls, and other woodland creatures. Depending on rainfall, a pond occasionally fills up, providing a great opportunity for catch-and-release frog and toad adventures! (Nets provided or use your hands like a pro)
Meet our two domesticated squirrels, "Big" and "Little," who are always hungry and love pecans. Please be sweet to these two precious babies. They are the squirrels that don't run away from humans.
Wake up to the delight of fresh eggs, straight from our homestead! (Inquire if interested)
Water: Garden hoses are at each site filled with fresh water from our well cut deeply into limestone. Drinkable, but it has a little extra iron in it.
Restroom: Porta potty on the Southside of the driveway across from the Pipeline Pole. The walk to Orchard Campsites is a 2-3 minute.

Working, 110 acre family farm of heritage breed livestock, nestled in a historic limestone quarry on the banks of the White River, on one side, and Fall Creek, on another. Dispersed with lots of space between campsites and are often all to yourself. Learn about regenerative farming with rare breeds on a farm tour, or mining and wetlands restoration on an ecological history tour. Pet and feed the livestock. Fish and bird-watch. Take a yoga class (at times with goats or bunnies) in the center of the stone henge. Have coffee with goats. Take a donkey stroll. Eat farm craft meats, eggs, prepared soups, casseroles, and baked goods, or hop into town for a bite. Across the river from McCormick's Creek State Park (Indiana's first state park with miles of trails, a swimming pool, and lodge). Just two miles north of Spencer, a small town with an excellent brew pub, winery, cafe, and more. Just 12 miles north is Cataract Falls State Recreation Area. Only 20 minutes from Bloomington and Indiana University; 45 minutes from Indianapolis Int'l Airport. This is a working farm with lots of livestock, electric fences, and working dogs, so please leave the farm animals alone unless someone from the farm is available and present. Dogs must be on a leash in the camping area, given the above features of a working livestock farm, the quarry ruins, the operative railroad tracks, and the river (not suitable for swimming), family friendly (children under the age of 18 must be attended by adults at all times).
*We have lots of on-farm food and supplies options, please contact us for a complete list and any requests. All sites have a private stone fire circle as well as access to a common grill, handwashing station, porta potty or septic outhouse, cold/solar water shower.

*Please note that the riverfront wetlands will be closed to guests during deer rifle hunting season for safety.

Staying at Havendell was so simple and just what I needed. I was passing through the Indy area as I used to live here and just needed somewhere to park my rig for a couple of nights. My shuttle bus isn't fully built out, so having access to a port-a-potty and somewhere safe and quiet each night was just perfect, and Dave made it so simple. It felt very private and was an amazing landing spot as I passed through. Thank you again, Dave!

My favorite Hipcamp :) Been here so often it feels a bit like coming home to get in and get set up! Dave reached out to me a few days before my stay to give me a heads up about some minor flooding from the rains we had. There were no issues but it was great to have the heads up.

This is a lovely, quiet camping spot not too far from downtown Indy! It sits on a small farm with horses & chickens which are kept fenced off some ways away from the camp area. The camp area is a cozy gravel driveway in front of the horse barn, and the way it's laid out still feels private when sharing the space with other campers. There's a port-a-potty on site that is cleaned regularly and exceptionally. If you're car camping bring your own water to wash up. Huge open pasture space with open skies (but no shade during the day is something to be mindful of!) I loved listening to the sounds of all the blackbirds playing and chirping up in the willow trees. Watching the sunset here is amazing. Arranging this camping trip was hassle-free. Dave was quick to respond, his wife Tara is very nice, & and it was super easy to find the property with the big wagon for Havendell Farm out front. I just pulled in and setup camp. Also, I got great cell service out here, too! Thank you for sharing this sweet spot with Hipcamp!

Weekend Trip to Acacia Farms
I absolutely loved my stay at Acacia farms! Leah Ann accommodated my traveling needs and really went the extra mile to make sure quests feel comfortable. The shed house was adorable and cozy, and the location featured many extra amenities including a fire pit, a large backyard, and of course a barn full with baby goats that made me wish I could have stayed longer!! If you are passing through the area I would highly recommend booking here.

It was super cold for most of the night we were there but Dave and Tara were gracious and kind and shared some flannel blankets to help keep lab River warm. Filled my heart with joy to be welcomed so.
So grateful to have met them and found their wonderful location!! Added additional days as needed and they made everything wonderful!

It was super cold and snowy for the night we were there camping but Dave and Tara went out of their way to provide a drop cord for us so we could have power to our heater!
Much needed as the outside temp felt like -24!
