Truly lovely property and the most amazing hosts. So kind!

1 night at Sleek Acres

My friend and I loved the night we spent at Earl&Lisa’s. It was our first night on the road and we planned to camp in our small tent in their garden, but there was a storm & hail coming. They offered us to stay in the camper since there wasn’t anyone in it, and even to come in the house if it started to be really windy or dangerous (we were under a tornado alert). They were so kind and helpful, I highly recommend to stay there, the little lake and the big garden were really cute! Thank you again :))

1 night at Sleek Acres

Me and my fiancé went tent camping here at site #1 and it was wonderful. They have a pond near all the sites and there’s a little sitting area with chairs in the sand to watch the ducks and fish. They also have chickens by the property. The outhouse was very clean and spacious, and was a short walk from our campsite. Lisa had shown us where we were staying and was super friendly and helpful! If I’m in the area again, we will definitely be camping here! 10/10 camping experience all around :-)

We’ve stayed at Sleek Acres twice now and it’s been such an amazing experience. Earl & Lisa are very welcoming and attentive. Their property is beautiful and their dog and ducks are welcoming too. Campsite 1 was where we stayed at. It’s near the other sites as well as the bathroom but it still has privacy to it. We highly recommend camping here!

Weekend Trip to Gun Smoke Ranch

We loved camping here! John had a fire started when we got there and gave us some great recommendations in the area. Campsite 3 had beautiful views and very easy to get to. Everything was well marked and we knew exactly where to go. We travel with two doggos and they loved running in the open land. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks John for making it a home away from home

Delightful. I would recommend it again. The hosts were quite welcoming and the camper was as cozy as it's name. It is right by Hwy 30, so if you are sensitive to noise, or seeking idyllic country silence, be warned that the sound of big reefers rolling down the highway will reach you at all hours, even though your privacy is well-shielded by trees.

Weekend Trip to Glamp Chicago Yurt Urban Campsite

It’s a fantastic spot both in the accommodation and access to public transport (the 94 and 76 bus stops are right there). Also, having IHOP, Popeyes, and Walgreens within short walking distance was very nice. The host was very easy to work with and the yurt was very comfortable. I will be going back again — six stars out of five!

Weekend Trip to Sleek Acres

This is a beautiful piece of property. Earl & Lisa laid it all out very well. The sites are just close enough to the toilet and shower house. The hand/dishwashing station has hot and cold water. It was also easy to access the water station to put water in our container to add to our travel trailer. Subtle solar lighting is a great touch to keep you out of the pond at night and also makes the area look magical at night. Plenty of wildlife to delight the senses, too. We lacked nothing on our first solar-powered camping adventure thanks to the hospitality of our wonderful hosts. We even had a cozy fire ring to enjoy as the deer and The Pink Moon came out. Easy access... CLEAN... SAFE... Relaxing... If you have the chance, you should stay here!

We came in a bit late, during a heavy rain. Mike and Gosia probably weren't really expecting us at that point. However, we were happily greeted by them, and the wonderful goddess dog, Gaia. They helped us out with some items we were lacking and brought us firewood once the rain calmed down. The property is beautiful, perfect escape from the city. We didn't want to leave (and they let us linger a bit) we'll definitely be back. Between the hosts, the property, the privacy, and of course Gaia, this is a place we almost want to keep it as a secret. Also, we stocked up on their farm fresh jams, eggs, sauces, honey and we'd encourage you to do the same. We have a full week of dinners planned that we can't wait for. If you go, you'll know.

Loved the farm, it was beautiful with the lake and the surrounding fall leaves! Hosts were very welcoming and also respective of our space. Would recommend!

Sleek Acres is a total of 13 acres, which includes our homestead, our chicken yard and barn, a fishing pond, and over 8 secluded acres to the back of the property where guests can explore (including walking trails). There are hungry catfish and bass in the pond who are always happy to be fed (we provide the fish food). Fishing is allowed, but catch and release only (under 12"), please! A small group of ducks live on the pond and will happily greet you as you walk to the beach. Relax at the beach in the morning as you enjoy your coffee and watch the fish, ducks, and turtles swim in the pond. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each site. A small amount of firewood is provided, and additional firewood is available for purchase. We have two charcoal grills available for your use. We provide a bathhouse, which includes a toilet and shower. A handwash/dishwashing station is located right outside the bathhouse. Our chickens are happy to take any food leftovers you don't want! You can walk right up to the fence and they will greet you. You may also see deer, fox, groundhogs, and many beautiful birds in the camping area. Located central to many destinations, we are 5 minutes from All-Sports Koontz Lake; 10 minutes from Plymouth, plenty of shopping and home of the Blueberry Festival (Labor Day weekend); 10 minutes from Walkerton, home of the Falloween Fest (Sept. 26, 27, 28); 25 minutes from Valparaiso; and 50 minutes from Notre Dame. The Vaudeville Urban Farm Fun!

Stone and brick pulled from the ground till we found the beautiful earth beneath and built an incredible community around it. Or rather, it grew itself from the energy that surrounds it. It's a special spot where you may happen upon a fire in the sugar shack while we boil city collected sap into maple syrup or have an open jam night with world class jazz musicians. Enjoy the morning serenade of our rooster! Really, just come and be here. Though we think we're pretty cool, a few things to note that you may not think are so cool: There is a train that runs directly behind the farm. Light sleepers, may want to bring ear plugs. We try to accommodate parking your car on site but it's weather and situation conditional. Assume the possibility that you may need to park on the street. Bring your tent to The Vaudeville! (RVs, campers, trailers, vans please see the ** at the bottom). Our urban farm is smack in the middle of Chicago only a 10 minute bike or train ride from Downtown, Lake Michigan, The Mag Mile and all Chicago has to offer! Bike the Lake Shore Trail, walk the 606, kayak the Chicago River, catch a blues show or Hawks game or just relax with the goats and chickens in the 9,000 square foot farm that we absolutely love to share with fellow campers! ** We have stopped hosting RVs, campers/vans, pull behinds and larger vehicles because we are finding it difficult to get them in the entrance gate but if you feel amazingly capable with your backing in skills in your rig and you're super patient, laid back and extra cool, let us know and we may be able to make it work!! :)

The property is near the toll road. Some guests do not notice the noise others have been more sensitive to it.
