1 night at Sleek Acres

Me and my fiancé went tent camping here at site #1 and it was wonderful. They have a pond near all the sites and there’s a little sitting area with chairs in the sand to watch the ducks and fish. They also have chickens by the property. The outhouse was very clean and spacious, and was a short walk from our campsite. Lisa had shown us where we were staying and was super friendly and helpful! If I’m in the area again, we will definitely be camping here! 10/10 camping experience all around :-)

We’ve stayed at Sleek Acres twice now and it’s been such an amazing experience. Earl & Lisa are very welcoming and attentive. Their property is beautiful and their dog and ducks are welcoming too. Campsite 1 was where we stayed at. It’s near the other sites as well as the bathroom but it still has privacy to it. We highly recommend camping here!

1 night at Sheepy Acres

Very hospitable and kind hosts. Titus went out of the way to make sure our stay was comfortable. My kids enjoyed playing with the kittens and watching the chickens and sheep. We couldn’t stay very long but we would love to come back and swim in the pond next trip.

Host was very pleasant, informative and flexible. We enjoyed both cabins, the pond and slide. Main bed very comfortable, others sufficient for kids. Sheep were cool to see, do know that cellphone reception is limited out there albeit better to just unplug anyways, great time

Really unique spot! Easy to find with Hipcamp directions. Titus was super welcoming. He met us at the barn, gave a quick tour, and led us to the site by golf cart. Hawk Roost was private, shaded, and clean. The tent pad barely fit our large tent but worked fine. We loved the wood chips around camp to keep it dry. Bathrooms were clean, potable water was about 100 yards away, and firewood was generously provided. He even delivered more during our stay when we needed it. It is a working pasture with sheep, so expect some strong smells and poop throughout the trails and camp roads. It didn’t bother us, but it’s worth noting. Our dog had the time of her life running around off-leash in the fenced-in pasture and having stare-downs with the sheep. There was some distant noise like sirens and machinery, but otherwise it was peaceful and full of birdsong. We would absolutely come back, especially with a group. It’s a great mix of rustic and thoughtful.

Weekend Trip to Mirror Lake Bunkhouse llc

We had such a great stay at Kathy’s cabin “old Phil”. There are plenty of clear trails to walk on and fishing off the pier was great. Even with the bit of rain we got our first night it didn’t put a damper on the trip. We definitely look forward to returning in the future!

Our campsite was really cute. The hammock was comfy and there was plenty of space. There were campers on site over, but they were far enough that we still felt alone. The night was quiet with no noise in the area. Alpacas in the morning — so cute!!

Outstanding glamp camp! The details of providing comforts of camping was 5 Star! We are tent/hammock campers but for one night wanted to arrive and just enjoy time relaxing. This was spot on to arrive and enjoy camping. The night lighting was so fun. We found a gem at the speakeasy and comedy club as well.

1 night at River Camp Fort Wayne

River camp is a wild, natural area just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Fort Wayne. It's amazing how remote it feels. Marla is a great host, and has kept the natural feel while having every convenience you would want while camping. I sat down on the river watching geese with goslings, and a Bald Eagle that was hunting for a relaxing evening.

What a nice campground! Cleanest shower/bathroom house I've seen in a bit. The owners were very nice and the community of campers were very kind. We tent camped and the sites were spacious and in a perfect location. The sounds of nature were present and I felt like we were in the middle of the woods instead of our campsite. Great place and we will definitely be back!

3 nights at Sleek Acres

Delightful. I would recommend it again. The hosts were quite welcoming and the camper was as cozy as it's name. It is right by Hwy 30, so if you are sensitive to noise, or seeking idyllic country silence, be warned that the sound of big reefers rolling down the highway will reach you at all hours, even though your privacy is well-shielded by trees.

Weekend Trip to Blooming Bus Farms

Gorgeous clamping experience. The water was hot for really nice showers and the tend was lovely. We had such a nice weekend stay. We got to feed and pet the Alpacas, enjoy some farm fresh eggs and just relax.

2 nights at Blooming Bus Farms

We visited in April. The hosts are just the nicest people. Amazingly quick response time to messages. Our site was level and nice sized! Lots of trees. Already has a hammock, small table, firewood for a fee and fire pit all at the site. A bit close to neighbors but we had no leaves on the trees so I think during the summer it would be pretty private!! Driveway in is a bit rough so if your car is very low profile this may be hard but I did see an alternative drive in that is very level so don’t let that stop you. We got to meet and feed the alps as which my daughter loved. Soil is a bit sandy at the site so I used longer metal tent stakes but they held well through high winds, heavy rains and a thunderstorm. The great thing is that if it rains the sand just drains the water so this was a huge bonus. It’s 40 min from Warren Dunes, 19 min to both Notre Dame and Potowatomi Zoo. Very close to gas stations and stores like Walmart also. But felt like you were away from it all. Will be back for sure!!

This is a beautiful piece of property. Earl & Lisa laid it all out very well. The sites are just close enough to the toilet and shower house. The hand/dishwashing station has hot and cold water. It was also easy to access the water station to put water in our container to add to our travel trailer. Subtle solar lighting is a great touch to keep you out of the pond at night and also makes the area look magical at night. Plenty of wildlife to delight the senses, too. We lacked nothing on our first solar-powered camping adventure thanks to the hospitality of our wonderful hosts. We even had a cozy fire ring to enjoy as the deer and The Pink Moon came out. Easy access... CLEAN... SAFE... Relaxing... If you have the chance, you should stay here!

Sleek Acres is a total of 13 acres, which includes our homestead, our chicken yard and barn, a fishing pond, and over 8 secluded acres to the back of the property where guests can explore (including walking trails). There are hungry catfish and bass in the pond who are always happy to be fed (we provide the fish food). Fishing is allowed, but catch and release only (under 12"), please! A small group of ducks live on the pond and will happily greet you as you walk to the beach. Relax at the beach in the morning as you enjoy your coffee and watch the fish, ducks, and turtles swim in the pond. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each site. A small amount of firewood is provided, and additional firewood is available for purchase. We have two charcoal grills available for your use. We provide a bathhouse, which includes a toilet and shower. A handwash/dishwashing station is located right outside the bathhouse. Our chickens are happy to take any food leftovers you don't want! You can walk right up to the fence and they will greet you. You may also see deer, fox, groundhogs, and many beautiful birds in the camping area. Located central to many destinations, we are 5 minutes from All-Sports Koontz Lake; 10 minutes from Plymouth, plenty of shopping and home of the Blueberry Festival (Labor Day weekend); 10 minutes from Walkerton, home of the Falloween Fest (Sept. 26, 27, 28); 25 minutes from Valparaiso; and 50 minutes from Notre Dame. Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round.
