Expect to hear chickens, guineas, pigs, dogs barking, kids playing. You may hear a tractor, lawn mower, or gator ATV go by as we are always busy doing something. Your pets are welcome, but keep in mind that this property is patrolled by two large Great Pyrenees dogs, and while they are friendly to people, they are territorial and have been aggressive towards other dogs until they become friends. For the safety of all the dogs, your pets must be contained/on a leash at least until all of the dogs can get to know each other. We are 5 miles from I-65, and 19 miles north of Louisville, KY. This spot is alongside a country road. It is considered less private than the SOUTH SIDE SPOT. The SOUTH SIDE CAMPING SPOT, is for tent campers only with a smaller vehicle. It is very private and completely surrounded by woods. This spot can accommodate two tents and one or two cars. There is no view of the night sky since you are in a dense forest. This truly is a Perfect Little Spot. The hosts are wonderful and take thoughtful care with the place and the details. Favorite highlights are: the comfy chairs with cushions by the large stone wall fire pit, The composting outhouse is clean, cute and comfortable. The open grassy areas are super soft with the ground underneath, great for walking barefoot and feeling the goodness of the earth beneath your feet, also nice for the level areas for tent camping on the ground. The covered porch for hanging out is lovely, A great place to journal or read when the sun is high. I felt totally tucked away and private. Angie and Paige have made this a very special place.

We had a great time at RockyTop. The highlights for my kids(8 & 22) were Oreo, the pig, the dogs and fishing. It was mostly a very quiet stay. The only thing I would say is only 1 person could fish at a time but we were told that was a project they were tackling soon. Also, youre closer to the house than we thought we'd be but that didnt bother us at all. All in all, we would stay here again.

A perfect quiet and secluded spot by the pond! We loved that Jake met us as we arrived and got us situated with wood and other amenities. We even forgot coffee and reached out and Joni brought us some for the morning. Having the pond and boats added to the experience and my husband caught some beautiful bass. The children and I loved the land and the trails of fields and forest. Will go back again

🤩 wow! This camp offers a quiet location in the middle of Hoosier National Forest. Several easy to use pull through sites. The deck platform is a very nice touch in front of our camper! Plenty of water spigots around. Hot showers and fire wood onsite. What more could you ask for? The host was very attentive and checked on us daily.

The property is gorgeous, and I had such a good time. Jared and his family are wonderful and kind hosts, and they checked in on me after a bad storm in the middle of the night. I know tent campers have complained about noise during the night, but I had no issues at all. There is accessible water and electricity, and I had service the whole time. I highly recommend staying here.

We LOVE staying at Joni & Jake’s! This is our 2nd trip to their property. The property is stunning with connecting trails to other campsites. This was super beneficial as we had our other family members camping at their nearby site making commuting back and forth super easy! Access to the ponds and fishing is the perfect extra bonus. The paths are well managed and clean with fresh cut grass. The multiple outhouses & water spickets are well kept up and much needed!! Joni is very quick to respond via the app & helped us with all necessary questions. Would love to come back for a 3rd time!!

Weekend Trip to Buck Creek Sanctuary

This spot is absolutely gorgeous and worth the effort to get to. The campsite sits right beside a shallow stream with a smooth stone bottom (I think limestone),l. My dog had the best time splashing around in it. The area feels private and tucked away, yet you’ll still catch the occasional sound of a neighbor’s rooster - more charming than annoying. The hike in is definitely on the steep side and longer than most Hipcamp sites I’ve stayed at, so be prepared to carry your gear in. Vehicles can’t make it down, so it’s best suited for campers who are comfortable with a bit of a trek. The composting toilet is up the hill from the site, which isn’t very convenient. I’d recommend bringing a portable toilet. If you’re looking for a peaceful, secluded place to unplug, this is a beautiful spot that feels like your own little hideaway in nature. Just be ready for the hike in and out.
