He dry farmed this land and raised nine children to be hardworking. I visited this property many times to work along side my father and grandfather. This property was used by the Shoshone Indian tribe as a summer camp area. Later after the pioneers came they set up a dance floor and had parties here. The dance floor has since overgrown. This property has also been the host to never dams. It has been in our family for many years and we have enjoyed it.Learn more about this land:The campsites are located in a wooded area so lots of shade. 2 sites are creek side along maple creek and the other has a small stream and a pond. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach site 1. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping.

Along with a handful of neighbors, within a private property recreational area, we are surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, with vehicle access from mid-May through mid-November each year.
Pebble Yurt has a 30 ft diameter with a partial loft for a total of 900 ft2 of indoor living space.
You will be completely off grid, but with running hot and cold water, solar electricity, and heating and cooling features. We also feature an indoor shower, sink, and composting toilet.
Bring your ATV's, mountain bikes, or hiking boots to explore the Pebble Basin.
Or take a short drive to Lava Hot Springs for world-class hot pools, water slides, or white water rafting.
Fishing in the Portneuf River or Chesterfield Reservoir, exploring the Chesterfield historic town site, or trying out a zipline or go-cart are other local activities.

The smaller of the two parks in Caribou-Targhee National Forests, Caribou is a welterweight not to be underestimated. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance.
Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

You won’t be let down by the fortitude of history and scenery at this former home to Shoshone and Bannock Indian tribes. Formerly a ranching town laid to waste by the Dust Bowl, this space was created to sustain wildlife and fish, as well as water and recreation resources in the county.
Even if you can’t stay the night, there are plenty of scenic drives to take through the park, and panoramic views to capture on your camera. Sagebrush open desert provides little shade, but the Stone Reservoir has some cool-off opportunities in the form of boating, swimming, and fishing. Very quiet and cute camp site that is very close to town. It was a nice quick getaway. There was plenty of room and the sounds of the creek were relaxing. Our only caveat was that we wish we had known the porta potty was only there until mid September.

Cord provided excellent directions to the site, which made getting there simple. Once we arrived, we were blown away by how peaceful and quiet it was. We loved the farm animals and the gardens were amazing. The turkeys and chickens roamed around but weren't a nuisance. They were entertaining. Had a great bike ride to Hyrum reservoir. Nate was an interesting host giving us a tour of the farm. We ended up buying farm fresh eggs and raspberries. Also shared a fire and smores with a charming family from Salt Lake. Highly recommend this camp experience

We loved our one night stay on Ken’s land. It was peaceful and private and we loved the site. The hill to get over to campsite 4 was steep, but doable in an SUV. The porta potty is about a 5-minute walk up and over the small hill, but it was never crowded and was clean. On Sunday morning around 10am we witnessed the bizarre landslide of rocks from whatever they were dumping down the mountain. As other reviewers have said it is pretty strange and happens in decently close proximity to site 4. We just made sure to keep our dog away from that side of the site. We would definitely come back here! We loved it.

We were on site 2 for a night and it was nice! Right next to the creek, it was great to hear it at night.
I’ll add to some other reviews about the hill going in and out- we had a Mazda 6 with fairly new tires and were able to get back up the hill alright, but it was still a little scary 😬 so just know that if you don’t have 4 wheel drive and it happens to rain or your tires are bad, it may not be worth the risk!

We had such a terrific overnight at Nate & Tara’s. Spent so much time with the sweet goats we started to name them. Walking through and around the greenhouse was also relaxing. We got to help wrangle baby birds which I thought was a blast. I can tell you I’ve never seen a cleaner porta potty in my life. We’ll go back because the vibe is undeniable.

This was a really great private site. The owners wetr lind enough to lead me down to the area. The access road is steep and rocky but fun to drive on. It would be best to have 4wd and this site you cross a creek. The entry is across from the green house at 4514 where the big rock mound is. The toilet was clean too just down a bit next to sites 2 and 3. I enjoyed my stay and had a nice fire.
My lab enjoyed being off leash a bit while we were in the site area.

This was our first time using Hipcamp. Everything went as planned. I think site #5 is the best site for a camper. We have a 15 foot Geo pro and had plenty of room to turn around. It’s also the highest spot on the hill and has a great view of Cache valley to the south.
Word of caution: you will definitely want to arrive before dark (as per written instructions) otherwise it can be very confusing to locate your campsite.
