Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. Dreamy place. Smells like pine trees all day. Beautiful views of the Palouse. Its very well set up. Hot water in the faucet and bathoom. The outside sink was a plus. The table is very big, lots of dry firewood, spacious area, lots of parking, sting lights, the owners were very accomodating, flexible and very welcoming. The kids were very loud and they didn't once come over or say anything.

This was a beautiful campsite. It had great views and was very neat and well appointed. The highway was right next to the site but didn’t really bother us. Travis was very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

I hate to leave a good review because I want this place just for myself!!! This Hip Camp is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful views. On top of the scenery, the amenities were fantastic. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom and shower were spotless, the site was spacious, and it was clear the host really cares about keeping everything in top condition. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and attention to detail made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find a place that combines natural beauty with such comfort and convenience, but this spot has it all. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back — highly recommend to anyone looking for a camping experience that’s both stunning and stress-free!

This site has nice pine trees, which contribute to privacy and a feeling of being in the woods. We easily backed our 30’ fifth wheel into this spacious site. Travis has provided some extremely appreciated amenities, such as a giant picnic table and trash can. This was our second stay here and we greatly enjoyed sitting under the awning eating dinner, listening to the sound of the drizzling rain and pine cones dropping to the ground.

We stayed at Crooks Lookout for the second time, and it was just as wonderful as our first visit. Travis keeps the campsite extremely well maintained, and the setting is peaceful and quiet with plenty of privacy—exactly what we were looking for. His dog, Mater, greeted us warmly and stopped by to visit during our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also had the pleasure of meeting Travis himself; he’s a genuinely generous and welcoming host. Everything about our stay was top notch, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again!

was an amazing stay! Travis was super nice and even brought us fresh veggies from their garden when he came up to introduce himself. His pup was the sweetest and gave us a warm welcome too. The shower and toilet were such a luxury to have after days of camping and driving. The spot itself is peaceful, with beautiful views, and you can tell Travis has put a lot of thought into making it comfortable while still feeling like real camping. We’d definitely come back!

Perfect! Beautiful location, friendly host, and very well designed glamping amenities! We had the most easy-going camping experience, and will definitely be back! We arrived late, and were welcomed by lovely patio lights — made it easy to unpack and setup camp in! The kitchen sink & counter, flushing toilet and hot shower made our whole stay luxurious and easy. Even a garbage can was provided, so we didn’t have to pack our own bags and pack it out. A huge, beautiful picnic table with a view, a fire pit and firewood… this spot made camping simple, easy and beautiful. This was a luxury camp-style. The highway is right next to camp, but it was pretty quiet at night. I always wear ear plugs, and slept fine. My family slept fine without them, but for light sleepers it might be a good idea to pack some.

We were staying north at Mirror lake and got evacuated due to the Sunset Fire. We were lucky enough to find this gem on very short notice! The spot was perfect for the 4 of us to camp down at the lake for the night. Beautiful spot and we would return in the future!

We enjoyed our stay at Camp Coeur d' Alene. We thought the various employees employed there were very friendly and helpful. It is a unique campground and we enjoyed seeing the various camping options. The surrounding scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed wandering the area around the camp.

Campsite was great! Parking on top and a good spot by the lake for a tent. It was a bit of a tight fit for our big camper but worked for us. Parking spot was a little unlevel but that's what leveling jacks are for. Public access to the lake was just down the road. We had a great time there while visiting Silverwood. Cell signal was low, but host was more then helpful when knocking on the door.

Really enjoyed camping here! We were visiting Silverwood Theme Park for two days and couldn’t be happier with choosing this over a crowded campground. It was easy enough to get to and close to everything we needed. It had rained recently so there were a few mosquitos so you may want to bring bug spray. 10/10 recommend!

Travis was great, kids were very respectful of guests being on-site. Shower/toilet was a very nice perk. Great jumping point to Pullman, WA or Moscow, ID. Thank you for the fresh raspberries! Sunsets were amazing. Signs on highway for campsite were very helpful. Privacy from owner's house was excellent.
