Northern Florida offers some of the darkest skies in the state providing amazing star-viewing opportunities on clear nights, so pack the telescope! This is a nature lover's paradise. All paths and clearings are maintained by hand to minimize disrupting Florida's natural woodland habitat, so you will be completely surrounded by beautiful native plants such as pines, saw palmettos, oaks, hickories, sweet gums, maples, and hollies. A winding footpath leads you from the road to the campsite, which sits on a 0.25 acre wooded lot surrounded by vacant wooded lots of similar size in every direction, so there is lots of privacy with no other adjacent campsites. This is a primitive campsite in the wilds of Northern Florida! There is no running water, bathrooms or electricity. You'll need to bring everything you need, and take everything you brought. There is a fire pit with table & chairs, dog hammock, and a picnic table. There are two spaces for pitching tents, a 12x15 ft clearing adjacent to the picnic table & fire pit, and a 8x10 ft clearing tucked a little further in the woods and connected by footpaths to the picnic area. DRIVE HERE: The campsite is located 20 minutes north of I-10. Once you get off Co. Rd. 141 the area is entirely dirt roads, but there are street signs for navigation. Parking is available in front of the property with space for 1 vehicle. HIKE HERE: We are a 7 min walk from the trailhead of Suwannee River State Park's Big Oak Trail which connects to the Florida National Scenic Trail. RIVER ACCESS: We are a 3 min drive to a public boat launch for the Suwanee River, so bring your kayaks. Several miles downstream is the confluence with the Northern Withlacoochee River. Public parking is available at the boat launch and trailhead to Big Oak Trail. This is an absolutely fantastic place to camp and relax! Katie and Danny were very cordial hosts who met me shortly after arrival with some nice welcome gifts. Their own residence is close by but far enough away as to not be intrusive. The property is VERY secluded with a 2 mile long drive off of the nearest road rural, so if your goal is to get away you can't do any better than this. The deck on the water looks great in the pictures and is way better in person. Much more spacious than it seems in the app, with plenty of seating, a large sink and tons of counter space, 2 fridges and a side dock for catch and release fishing. Morning mist on the lake and borderline riot of frog singing at dusk! Plenty of room to walk around the lake and even an outdoor shower and rest room available. An enormous slab to accommodate large RVs plus plenty of other parking space, full hookups plus a separate hose at your disposal. Honestly it's actually more of a resort type setting than a camp, but who's gonna complain about that! Check it out and I assure you won't be disappointed!

Weekend Trip to The Fruit Factory RV Site

Tony was an awesome host right from the start, welcoming, friendly and helpful. His property itself was awesome, and the site very well equipped. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as welcoming, with heavy rain for almost 48 hours which uncovered and I foreseen camper issue. Tony immediately offered to let us park under his spacious pavilion saving the remaining days of our trip. The rain soon stopped allowing us and the family dog to walk the expanse of his property and feed the fish in his pond. The nights were honestly amazing— relaxing to the sounds of nature and wildlife while star gazing. We very much appreciated how helpful and easygoing Tony was. He made our entire stay comfortable and enjoyable despite the weather. We will definitely come back.

An excellent rv site, easy access, full hookups, well manicured property, serene and private location with no road noise. Pavilion and picnic table next to rv pad for convenience, an excellent pond, a great pet-friendly space with walking trails and plenty of space to roam, a safe area even for our reactive dog, a brilliant sky view, and a wonderful host. We enjoyed an excellent tour with the host, great conversation and a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in his Ford Model T's.

This is a lovely, quiet, private location! There were so many birds to hear and see, as well as a cute pond area with fish and turtles. The RV spot is flat and easy to access. We went in mid-April, and there was not really much of any fruit to pick, but the experience was still beautiful and peaceful. We also enjoyed seeing the cows across the neighboring farm’s field. Overall a really lovely place to spend a couple days relaxing!

For a county / municipal park, you'll think you're on private land. Situated between a pretty lake and a quiet airport, these sites are quiet. I was the only one there for a week, and only occasionally did a local walked roam around this side of the lake from the public park on the other side. This is as quiet and secluded as any other Hipcamp park you'll find. Definitely give this one a chance if you're near the Fitzgerald area.

We had an amazing time camping at the Fruit Factory! The property is beautifully maintained and incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. One of the highlights of our stay was the pond — we had a lot of fun fishing and spending time by the water. Tony, the host, was great and very friendly. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and was clearly dedicated to making sure guests have a great experience. It’s obvious he takes a lot of pride in keeping the property in such great shape. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-kept place to camp and unwind, the Fruit Factory is a fantastic spot. This place was beautiful! I practically had it all to myself, but I realize it’s not the busy season yet. ;) But the spot was gorgeous- the lake; the sunset & sunrise was very enjoyable. There is some noise- trains & planes (small airport next door) & the road. But the birds made up for it! Lol Beware of lots of fire ant hills. Just avoid them & never stand in one place for too long. ;-)
