It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! There is also a dining table and chairs. Cabin is located 6 miles from I 75 Tennessee exit 49 about midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga. The cabin sleeps four. Bedding is provided for one double bed, one single bed, and a cot. Kitchen includes stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and basic cookware and utensils. Coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper are stocked. We have plenty of room to park a trailer or turn around a boat you travel with. Several access sites on the Tennessee and Hiwassee Rivers are nearby. The view was spectacular. The pictures don’t give it justice. The cabin I was in had a map of the area, Ga and Tn. It was just the right size for my dogs and I and the bed was very comfortable. I believe it was a tin roof and it rained that night. The sound was beautiful to me, not so good to my dog. The people were extra friendly. I felt very secure. I received a flash flood warning and was very concerned but heard the cart driving by ever so often. I had my dogs with me and I believe the camp dog came and took my dog on a walk😂😂. It was the cutest thing. I purchased so many mosquito items and never had to use them. I had to leave earlier than I wanted because my dog was so stressed and he is an elder dog. One last thing I don’t know what the heck I was thinking but driving up the mountain was extra scary for me. I was panicked about having to drive down. Guess what? There is a service for that. I wish I had known before coming. It’s called Stat Ride. I absolutely loved everything about this resort.

I traveled from California to take my grandkids camping. George was an amazing host!!! He was communicative and flexible. when plans had to change due to medical stuff. The site was well designed and surprisingly well equipped. The camp kitchen had all the basics plus. I have a trailer with all my gear so I was grateful to have all the items forgot readily available. The cabin was bigger than expected. We spent a rainy afternoon playing games and napping. Great combination of convenience and real comping!! We will be back!!!

My buddy and I had a great weekend getaway to relax at the Woodsman Cabin at Starr Mountain Retreat on 23 acres in the Cherokee National Forest near Reliance, Tennessee. This place is the real deal. It is quiet, private, and surrounded by woods with that perfect peaceful vibe. The cabin is spotless, well laid out, and seriously comfortable. The queen bed in the main bedroom and the twin beds up in the loft were both very comfortable. They have literally thought of everything. There is a full kitchen, gas fireplace, grill, and all the little details that make it easy. You could literally show up with just a suitcase and feel like you’re checking into a hotel room. No scrambling for basics. They even had an abundance of dry firewood ready, and they thought of the little things like dry kindling in a bucket ready for use. The fire pit served us well for some great evenings chilling out. The owners were responsive, and it really shows in how well the place is set up. We felt that the advertisements for this location actually undersell just how excellent it is. This is a first-class spot in the woods. Already talking about coming back. Highly recommend it for any guys looking for a solid relaxing getaway. Thanks Nola and Brian! 🙌

Absolutely the perfect cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and only needed to bring our clothing and food. Nola has thought of everything for this cabin all the way down to the kindling for the fire. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was hot. The AC worked great and we loved the fire pit and front porch.

We stayed in a really cute, small barn-style space that clearly had a lot of handmade character and charm. You can tell a lot of it was built with a personal touch, which gives it a unique feel. That said, the ladder leading up to the loft was very petite and a bit difficult to use. Overall, it has potential and a lot of charm! We loved the plants and garden.

We loved this site. It has everything you’d want in a perfect campsite. Very convenient to Lula Lake Land Trust. Having the bathroom/shower was great, and the electricity & “kitchen” at the barn was nice. I’d suggest that you still bring some of your own cookware, rather than assume everything you may want to use will be available. Also maybe bring something large enough to warm up some water, so you can effectively use it to wash dishes; the sink in the barn has only cold water.
