• Power & hookups: No electric or water hookups. This is primitive tent and small-RV camping (rigs under 20 ft).
• Pets: Dog-friendly! Pets are welcome on-leash — we just ask that you clean up after them.
• Campfires: Campfires are welcome in the provided fire pits (weather and local fire bans permitting). Firewood is available at The Outpost, our on-site general store — please don't bring outside firewood, which helps protect the forest.

We have a working farm with sweeping views of Lookout mountain and only 12 minutes from all the comforts of downtown Chattanooga. Our expansive 120-acre property provides campers with the freedom to choose their camping spots anywhere on the farm.
Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm.
We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show where the camping site sits on the property. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures.
Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area, in between the orange and green tiny home, and outside the outdoor shower.

As you drive in, you will see a self-serve Farm Stand. We can bring your first load of firewood (if you order any) to your site, if you need more, you can get it at our Farm Stand, but if you would like us to deliver more - just let us know, we want to be accommodating to you. When you drive into the property to access your site, please drive straight to the field along the grassy pathway.
We have a clean toilet house. It is located between campsites 3 and 4.
Within a couple miles of our property there is mountain biking, hiking, lake access of swimming and boating. Bring your kayak to enjoy seeing Lake Nottely!
We live on the property, and it is a working homestead. We have chickens (roosters crowing too, sometimes in early hours - sorry about that). We ask that you keep your dogs *at your camp site at all times* (we have had camper's dogs run through the field at us and scare us to pieces and we'd rather not experience that again! lol)
Enjoy the sounds of the creek and put your tent on level land. We have firepits at each camp site. Firewood is available for purchase, just send us a message. We can deliver to your campsite. We also have tables and chairs for rent. We have farm fresh eggs! They are unwashed so no refrigeration needed. Need something else? Let us know, we want you to have the best, memorable stay ever!

Property is currently CLOSED while I reassess this whole thing of "sharing"... 99 percent of campers are AWESOME, and understand the idea of PRIVACY and being left alone, and leaving other people alone. But that 1 percent RUINS IT.
I have had 100s if not 1000s of dollars worth of damage down there, and rude people, and just about every single thing you can imagine. My dog was stolen and refuse to be returned with the Sheriff, and people want to FIGHT over whatever.
There are people who want a 4 lane highway built to THE PRIMITVE LAND. It is ASTOUNDING this anthropological experiment trying to share my land with people has been. Mostly good, but the bad has been TERRIBLE.......
So if you want to come, contact me. I may still do it. But things are going to have to change in some drastic ways... UGGG!!!

Our campsite sits beyond the gate in front of our small farm store. There are rustic bathrooms with hot water, free WiFi and plenty to do! We encourage you to hike, bike, and explore.
** We are in rattlesnake and copperhead season. Please be mindful hiking on warms days and evenings towards dusk. **
The store is not open at this time, and the Greenhouse is available by request.
Deer, coyotes, wild hogs, and other creatures roam freely. Any pets must stay fully leashed at all times (see below).
Our day starts early in the summer as we harvest for market. We make every effort to be very quiet, but the field crops are close to your camp site. We will never run a tractor until after 11am. You may hear the greenhouse fans kick on starting around 9am when the system starts warming up.
Pets - Are welcome if contained on a leash at all times.
Bathrooms - are located next to the store and a short walk from your tent site.
Site - Is on level ground for tents campers RV vans and more. There is a fire pit, picnic table and water spigot. The water is not well water and comes from the county main water line. There is a main highway leading up to our gate so you do not have to off road to get to the property.

On our farm are free range chickens, peacocks, goats and a donkey in a pasture, turkeys (wild and domesticated), honeybees (in the field), and a few outdoor cats.

We had SO MUCH fun! The host was extremely helpful and made check in and getting to our site a breeze. There was a pot and pan for our use and a portable toilet setup close by. Our site was quiet and felt secluded while still being close to the main house and a short walk from our car. The donkey and goats were adorable neighbors to wake up to and there were lots of general stores and gas stations a short drive away for anything extra we needed. It was our first time camping but definitely not the last thanks to this experience.

5 Stars – An Awesome Family Camping Experience!
What a fantastic place for a family camping getaway! We absolutely loved the beautiful wooded setting, spacious campsite, and peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect combination of primitive camping and plenty of adventure for the kids.
The adventure play area was a huge hit! Between the rope climbing nets, swings, obstacles, and exploring the woods, our boys had an absolute blast. It was great having so much for them to do while still enjoying the outdoors and disconnecting from everyday life.
We brought our off-road camping trailer and rooftop tent, and the campsite had plenty of room for our setup. We especially enjoyed relaxing around the campfire as a family after a full day of adventures.
The location was another bonus, with Athens and the University of Georgia close enough to enjoy some football festivities before returning to the peace and quiet of the woods.
This is exactly the kind of place that makes camping with kids memorable. Great outdoor adventures, quality family time, and memories around the campfire. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to other camping families!

I really enjoyed my time at Babs Farm ! It was quiet and peaceful. There are a few homes around, but they are pretty much obscured by tall bushes and trees, so it felt pretty secluded to me… there is some road noise BUT… not very loud and it’s far enough off in the distance, that it did not disturb me at all. I did manage to see a doe and her yearling, late evening, crossing the pasture, via the wood line. There were quite a few limbs that have fallen from some oak trees …nowhere near the actual area where you would pitch your tent or park your RV or camper. Brad was gracious enough to let me use those limbs plus, some wood he had cut earlier, for my campfire. There are no designated fire rings or areas to set up a campfire but… as long as you bring your own fire ring or fire basket, like I did, Brad said it was OK to have a campfire. I will definitely be back !

Loved staying at this little camp grounds for the night, Lindsay and her family were very kind and the space was nice and quiet for my overnight stay. It’s away from main roads on a gravel turnoff, so it definitely feels very safe and secluded. Saw many pretty deer, it’s conveniently placed near enough to Atlanta proper so I didn’t have to drive four hours to and from (I live out in the sticks), and has all the country charm I grew up with 👍🏻 would stay again!

We stayed here for one night on our way down to Florida. It was a peaceful site set back in the woods. We wish we had time to stay longer. The site was nice and private and was set up with a fire pit, homemade bench, and cooking table. We will definitely stop here again next time we are in the area.

Where to go
Atlanta & North Georgia
The north Georgia mountains provide some of the state’s best camping and hiking terrain, including part of the Appalachian Trail. The vast Chattahoochee National Forest is dotted with historic sites and campgrounds, while cascading waterfalls, RV camping, and glampsites await at Amicalola Falls State Park. Canyon hikes and waterfalls are among the highlights at Tallulah Gorge State park and Cloudland Canyon State Park (the latter also has yurts for rent), and Red Top Mountain State Park lies less than an hour from the state capital, Atlanta.
Central Heartlands
Augusta, Athens, and Macon have a rich musical legacy—artists from James Brown to Otis Redding hail from these parts—plus some of Georgia’s best camping right on their doorstep. Head to Mistletoe State Park to hike, kayak, and fish on the shores of Clarkes Hill Lake; snag an RV campsite or cabin at George L. Smith State Park; or rent a cozy cottage at Indian Springs State Park.
South Georgia
Rolling farmlands form the backdrop for a road trip through South Georgia, perhaps checking into an RV park in one of the many small towns along the way. The region’s most impressive hiking trails are found in Providence Canyon State Park, along with backcountry tent sites, while Stephen C. Foster State Park is an International Dark Sky Park and a wildlife haven set on the banks of the Okefenokee Swamp.
Coastal Georgia
Georgia’s 100-mile slice of Atlantic coastline stretches down from Savannah to Cumberland Island, peppered with sandy beaches, saltwater marshes, and barrier islands. Rent a camper cabin or RV site with full hookups close to the beaches and waterways of Skidaway Island State Park, explore the biking trails or take a dolphin-spotting cruise around Tybee Island, or escape the crowds at the hike-in campsites along the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
