Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips.
We DO allow tent camping.
Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi.
An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm.
Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired.
The property includes miles of trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Bring your own horse or experienced riders may be able to ride one of ours (subject to weight/experience matching with a horse).
There is a small private stocked lake open to all guests of Lizardsniffer for fishing and swimming. At the lake you will find an amenities cabin called Glowy Bobber that has a full bathroom and outdoor shower as well as Kayaks and floats for guest use.

We really appreciated having the gas grill/charcoal combo grill on site to cook dinners on and there is plenty of space to play some yard games (cornhole, frisbee etc). We will absolutely come back!"

"Camp Hartwell" is a secluded site with close access to the Community Lakefront Site and dock on Lake Hartwell in Fairplay, SC. "Hickory Forest" is our Premier Site; fire pit, grates, large benches. "Out Door Shower / Changing 2.0" will not disappoint! 20 minutes off Route 85. in Fairplay, SC. About 20 minutes to Seneca, SC and 20 minutes to Livonia, GA. LAKE HARTWELL is part of the chain of Lakes on the Savannah River. Duke Energy owns and maintains the water level on the lakes to produce hydro power. Just a beautiful setting with calm waters and all kinds of hidden branches of the lake to boat, fish, and explore. The entire area is teeming with a rural South Carolina flare. Even for "non campers"; pay us a visit, have a campfire, hike or fish off the community dock. The Community Lake Front Site offers fire pits, deck, dock to fish, swim, kayak from. The Community Site is approximately 1/8 mi away; can drive or walk. Lots of wild life including deer, turkeys, birds etc. The song birds at sun up and sun set are significant! Her lakefront property is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed walking our dogs around the property and also taking some camping chairs down to the dock to take in the sunset. The firepit can hold a massive fire and I would definitely recommend buying some firewood from Debbie as it is perfectly seasoned and burns great. We really appreciated having the gas grill/charcoal combo grill on site to cook dinners on and there is plenty of space to play some yard games (cornhole, frisbee etc). We will absolutely come back!"

"Camp Hartwell" is a secluded site with close access to the Community Lakefront Site and dock on Lake Hartwell in Fairplay, SC. "Hickory Forest" is our Premier Site; fire pit, grates, large benches. "Out Door Shower / Changing 2.0" will not disappoint! 20 minutes off Route 85. in Fairplay, SC. About 20 minutes to Seneca, SC and 20 minutes to Livonia, GA. LAKE HARTWELL is part of the chain of Lakes on the Savannah River. Duke Energy owns and maintains the water level on the lakes to produce hydro power. Just a beautiful setting with calm waters and all kinds of hidden branches of the lake to boat, fish, and explore. The entire area is teeming with a rural South Carolina flare. Even for "non campers"; pay us a visit, have a campfire, hike or fish off the community dock. The Community Lake Front Site offers fire pits, deck, dock to fish, swim, kayak from. The Community Site is approximately 1/8 mi away; can drive or walk. Lots of wild life including deer, turkeys, birds etc. The song birds at sun up and sun set are significant! Hickory trees abound and nuts drop Sept./Oct. Options for parking boat at community dock need to be discussed in advance. Rates and rules apply.

The Charlotte's Web theme was adorable and we were so warm and cozy. Full kitchen(pots, pans, cups, ect), flat screen TV, comfy couch, comfy bed with a view, cool led lighting, and a jacuzzi tub. Wasn't far from hiking and other parks. Randy was so very kind and helpful and we appreciate him so very much and look forward to booking again! 🕷️🐖

When I first pulled in, I saw little heads bobbing, geese! Then when I pulled around to my campsite the road led through a little creek any f150 or bigger could get through no problem!!! How awesome is that?! Then, a downfall, the power went out but we had the generator and gas hooked up in a jiffy, with that being said, the man offered to pay for our gas to run our small heater microwave and tv, along with an easy to remember wifi password which worked so well out by the small uncovered lake pavilion. I traveled in an f350 with a camper on top and had very little to no branches above head that got in the way. This is a fine camp and he was able to make us aware of anything when it went wrong or wasn't working properly.

Super peaceful spot! The big open field was great for stargazing at night, and there was a set of trees near the pond that worked for my camping hammock. Loved seeing the ducks as I walked around the pond. This is a very well kept bit of land, and I felt like I had plenty of space to enjoy and it was nicely secluded. The most I heard was dogs barking in the distance and the ducks splashing a bit at night. I'll have to come back!

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

We had the best time at Brooks Lake — it’s truly our happy place. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and it’s the perfect spot to spend time as a family. 4 nights at Creekside Cabin at Lake Hartwell
I have to say, this was hands-down the best organized, cleanest, easiest, most amenity-laden cabin I’ve ever rented. So many details, from the embroidered robes to the bound book of instructions and recommendations. From the kitchen appointments to the coffee. There are really too many amazing little things to list here, but you could really tell the owners absolutely care about the experience their property provides. And we went panning for gold in the creek below the back deck and even found a little! It was incredibly comfortable and lots of fun. Just make sure you’re ok with stairs and aren’t too large to fit the spiral to the loft. I honestly cannot think of a single improvement to make. Didn’t even matter that it rained so much, because there was plenty left to do inside.

Beautiful area! Host was very communicative (such fast response times). Area was lovely and incredibly dog safe. Booked it knowing I would be going on a cold and rainy camping trip.
