Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. It is about 8 feet deep in center going to about 4' at sides and 20 feet long. Big stone grill is provided as well as large fire pit. Kindling and firewood is provided. ten minute walk to the main house for potable water and other needs. 37 acre farm with hills and a wide variety of wildlife and plants to inspect. Camp is in rural area couple hundred yards off county road but secluded. Plenty of deer, turkey, geese, wild ducks, beaver and other wild life in the area. A secondary campsite is provided down the creek with area for tent near creek. Fire pit and firewood is provided.

At the very top of the property are 30+ ft high cliffs with a cave. It has a colorful collection of lichen growing in it and we have named it our 'Mandala cave'. The cave is great for meditation. Rejuvenating guided hikes to the cliffs & caves are available upon request. This is raw land & raw forest. If you enjoy bush craft, there is plenty of material for you to build a lean-to, tipi, or structure of choice. Trees range from poplar to multiple species of oak. Natural wildlife include deer, wild turkeys, scorpions, and ticks. You're welcome to bring fluffy as we've never seen any predators, but there is a slight chance there could be some around. A lost animal on the mountain could be near impossible to find. We have 2 male cats. Unfortunately, the Earth does what she wants and weather forecasts can't be relied upon. We've had sunny days that have been forecasted to rain and un-predicted downpours. It can be raining at the top or the bottom of the mountain but not at the campsites in the middle.

There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down. Other things to note • The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels. • This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. Incredible location, amenities and staff. Kate and the staff made us feel welcome and at home and helped us move to a different camp lot the night of our arrival. We would love to come back again some time!

The yurt had a small blow up mattress, which was a plus because it wasn’t listed in the description (at least to my memory). The land was absolutely beautiful, and he took the time to make sure we got to our yurt safely. Made my friend and I feel incredibly safe as two young women traveling alone together. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Covenant View Camp and Retreat

We loved staying on Robby’s land. He was friendly, and met us at the gate to give us some directions and details about the campsite. The campsite had 6 spots, and most of the were concentrated on one side of the field, so you may be close to others if you choose on of those. We had no one around us, and aside from the occasional train passing by, it was very peaceful. We had great views of the night sky and saw a few shooting stars while we were out. Plenty of space, good access to a bathroom. We had to walk out a bit to get some firewood, but that wasn’t a difficult endeavor. We all had a great time and would stay here in the future.

Took my six year-old granddaughter for her first camping trip here and we had so much fun! The animals were, of course, the highlight of our stay, but we also loved the accommodations and safety aspect of staying on Jannas property. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Had a peaceful and lovely stay in the meadow. Easy check in and good directions to get to the property. Josh was very responsive. There were only a couple of other campers so it was quiet. The outdoor showers are closed for the season but the heated bathroom has a shower that we used. Would return and recommend,

For the group of guys that I camp with, this was our favorite site we’ve been to. Jerry is a phenomenal host. Great to talk to. And so accommodating. He gave my son a bag of homemade popcorn when we arrived. Took us for a ride around the property to show us everything there is. Loved hearing his stories. The site is spacious enough that it feels private. We are already planning our next trip out there!

Perfect little location for some fall trees and a little getaway. The cabin had everything I needed with the extra bonus of the personal hot tub! Instructions about everything in the cabin were very easy to follow. I also appreciated how this one felt a little more secluded than some of the neighbors!

Weekend Trip to Covenant View Camp and Retreat

My dog and I had a perfect last second long weekend getaway. The property was easy to get to, close to so many awesome hiking trails, and was beautiful. The host, Robby, communicated well and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He brought us enough firewood to last the entire trip and offered multiple options in case the weather got too cold while there. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Highly recommend anywhere on his property and will hopefully be back sooner than later!
