Our 10x12 foot canvas safari tent offers a cozy 120 sq ft of space which can accommodate a twin size mattress in addition to the provided queen bed.

Guest access
Folklore Forest is on 3 acres and has 270 feet of River Frontage at your disposal. Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months.
Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down.
Other things to note
• The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels.
• This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices.
• Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

This site exceeded expectations! The hosts stocked the RV with every single thing the average person would need to feel at home, and that’s exactly what it felt like. A home away from home. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was an ABUNDANCE of blackberries on site to pick! Not only that, they had a rock pile of rocks collected from the property that were full of character, and many of them with crystals which they allowed me to take as well. I came home with blackberries and beautiful rocks/crystals as if I visited a gift shop on my way out. The hosts themselves were close in location but very hospitable and respectful of my privacy. I will very likely be returning for another visit

Amazing place. Perfect mix of outdoor experience while keeping amenities like a kitchen, shower, indoor cabin for those less accustomed to camping. We got to see some really cool birds too, heard some owls at night. And great price too. Would definitely return

Really enjoyed my overnight in the A-Frame. The property is well kept. The other campers were friendly and respectful of noise/space. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. And highly recommend Angry Hops brewery in Blue Ridge!

2 nights at Cabin and Barn on 20 Peaceful Acres
We loved this site. It has everything you’d want in a perfect campsite. Horses, running water, a fully stocked kitchen, secure and private bath/shower, creeks and trails, multiple fire pits, cute fluffy kitty, electricity. We were so impressed with the custom touches and clever functionality of the kitchen and cabin. Perfect for a group. Oh… and bonus points for the tether ball.

4 nights at The Ridge at Stanley Gap
We always love staying at Josh’s land, especially in the A-Frame! It’s nice to not have to break down my tent every day when I come this way to visit my son. I believe this is my fourth visit and there will always be more times to come! Cannot say enough good things about this campground. 10/10 always recommend!

Very convenient to Lula Lake Land Trust.
Having the bathroom/shower was great, and the electricity & “kitchen” at the barn was nice.
I’d suggest that you still bring some of your own cookware, rather than assume everything you may want to use will be available.
Also maybe bring something large enough to warm up some water, so you can effectively use it to wash dishes; the
sink in the barn has only cold water.

Glamping #7 had the best view of the forest and was a little more private than the other camp set ups. Loved being able to see the stars at night and the quietness and cleanliness of everything. There’s hiking and a the falls really close by. Really loved the amenities that were offered and the space.

We loved this site! The RV was great. We had a problem right when we got there, but the host was quick to respond and help find a resolution. The RV had everything we needed and the bigger fridge was a bonus. On a night of rain, we had a fun night of games inside. On a clear night, we enjoyed the outside table and lights. The campground itself, though full of RV’s, was pretty quiet.

My daughters and I had a wonderful stay. The mattresses were genuinely comfortable, and the aromatherapy diffuser was a nice touch.
The lodge restaurant was incredibly convenient with good food, saving us from meal planning. The nearby trails were easily accessible for exploring.
All tent amenities worked well—Keurig, mini fridge, and climate control functioned as described. Our only issue was the coffee maker lacked water, but we had some packed for hiking.
The outdoor setup with hammocks, fire ring, and grill provided authentic camping feel without needing to bring anything. The bathhouse proximity wasn’t ideal in the cold, but wasn’t too far.
Highly recommended for families seeking nature without sacrificing comfort. The thoughtful details like the diffuser and quality bedding set it apart.
