This is our second stay at lakeside. You will be hard pressed to find a better, private, full hook up property that is right on the lake. Four days of rest , relaxation and cool breezes coming from the expansive lake.

1 night at North Shore Relic Ranch

The site was beautiful and very well kept with chairs, fire pit, and lights. The host was very kind and very flexible with us as we arrived late at night and he still met us to guide us to our site. The relics are pretty neat to go see as well as the cows. One thing to note is the mosquitoes are absolutely ruthless out there because it’s in swampy area, so bring loads of strong bug spray.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Freedom at Earthperks Farm

What a treasure to find! The #2 tent spot is secluded enough for complete privacy, but close enough to the main house that I felt safe, camping alone as a woman. All the ammenities are there, water and standard 120v electric at the site, picnic table, fire pit and well-maintained grounds. It's approx. a 25 min drive to the Speedway and downtown. This is now where I will stay every tine I visit Daytona. I attended Jeep week. When I arrived, I knew my initial accomodations weren't going to work for me, I needed a quiet spot to wind down at night. I reached out and Mindy responded right away, answered all of my questions and I was booked within 20 mins. She even sent me a detailed map and instructions on how to find my spot, the showers and the kitchen. As an Airbnb host of several units myself, my expectations can be high. This is a hidden gem so near to downtown.

We enjoyed staying there! Lots of space for us and our dogs and a cute area with chairs, grill and a fireplace.

Small and quite campground, great for stargazing at night. The host was helpful and very nice to chat with. There are no showers but they to provide water hookups for those quick rinse offs. Lovely view of the lake in front of the property.

Had a wonderful stay here with the goats and chickens! By far the best outdoor bathroom & shower I’ve been to. The host is funny and generous, their property offers a surprising amount of privacy for its proximity to any shop you could need. They fit us in last minute midweek, truly a great spot to stay!

Weekend Trip to The Promised Land

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Promise. Just what we were looking for, a quiet place to stop for a day. With the recent dry weather the sand in the wooded area was quite loose though we had no issues getting in and out. I would advise a quick recon on foot before you go in mostly to confirm a route through the woods. There are a couple of options and it’s helpful to know which one works for you. Our stay was brief but enjoyable. Very quiet and heavily shaded site with options to stay in the field before the woods if desired. The shade was welcomed and cut the heat considerably compared to the field. We would definitely stay again when we are in the area.

7 nights at Lakeside RV site

We loved camping on Laura’s land. So peaceful and relaxing. She showed us where to back in and hookup. After that, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was amazing! Beautiful view of the lake. We were able to view 2 rocket launches on the site - amazing views! There was a deer family that visited us every day. We hope to go back very soon!

This hipcamp is right off the road. Nice maintained property. The animals were great. Clean bathroom and shower! Highly recommend.

Very chilled and easy experience staying at Runaway Bay Lodge. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Bed very large and comfortable. Nice shower. Lovely watching the sunset over the lake with a nice wood fire going.

We loved camping on Tracey’s land! Beautiful big trees and the cutest animals. Tracey was always quick to reply and very helpful. Toilet and shower was just as described: porter potty and an outdoor shower that can be used for a quick rinse.

Cute place, great staff. Beware of the mosquitos in Florida in the summer :) Natrapel (Picaridin) kept them off at least. I also used a Thermacell to keep them away.

We really enjoyed our stay! The campground was peaceful and surrounded by nature, which made it easy to unwind. Having the animal farm right there was such a nice touch—super cute and fun to visit. The location is great, with several beautiful springs not too far. And don’t miss Mount Dora! It’s a charming little town nearby with lots of character. Overall, a great experience and we’d definitely come back.

5 J’s Camp

5 J’s Camp is completely private 2.5 acres that backs the Ocala National Forest in Umatilla . This our family getaway, we are a family of 5 and we all have names that start the letter J. There are endless places to put a tent including by the lake, or completely private areas, or by the common areas to be close to a bathroom and kitchen and pavilion, water and electric. The amenities include a pavilion with an outside kitchen, dinning and living area. There is also a ( large shed converted to a ) cook shack with a full size fridge, microwave, electric burners and a toaster oven. There is also a bathroom with a full-size shower/tub, hot water and a toilet. It comes with all of the basics to be comfortable while you camp. Also, you have a good chance of being alone. we usually only book 1 party at a time, Just message me to confirm. The property has enough lighting to completely light up the common area. There is also water and electric all over the property. There is a shooting range right outside of the property that is part of the forest. There is Blue Sink several miles away, it is a spring feed swimming hole that is deep enough for SCUBA. There is horse trails and OHV trails as well. This camp was a hunting camp and still has an huge animal cleaning station on the back side of the property, with water, drainage, power, lighting and all stainless steel sinks and counters. Come to play and explore or come to relax. Our camp is always (slowly)being Improved, you might see work in progress so be aware there may be a consolidated area that looks messy. This is a camp, everything gets dusty, and there are bugs. We keep the yard kept up and do what we can to limit bugs in the common area. I recommend a 4x4 although I don’t own one my self. The roads are usually decent, but the weather has a lot to do with roads in the forest.

Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Marci's Magical Lakefront Oasis

Beautiful spot overlooking Lake Weir in The Ocala National Forest. Watch the otters play and count the many different birds that make this lake their home. Treat yourself sunsets every night as the sun disappears into the water and enjoy the awesome reflection of the moon as it sets on the lake. (Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight). We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake. The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock. We also have citronella torches available for rent. We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10. Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible. It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground. We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so. Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people. Each site has its own fire pit. Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews. Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge. We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

It is surrounded by acres of Pine Forest so enjoy the fresh air, listen to the birds, look at the wild life. We have about a dozen of chickens and a few roosters.The property is conveniently located 1 mile away from the Interstate 95, and 1 mile away from US1. 3 min drive to the grocery store( Publix). Plenty of stuff to do around - fishing, canoeing and swimming- within 10-15 minutes to the River, Beaches and the Ocean; tons of natural preserves, parks and historic places. Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground is across the street. 20-30 min to Daytona Beach or historic St.Augustine. A little over an hour to Orlando with Disney, Universal and other parks, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral. Whatever your interest is - you can find it around - many of restaurants, wine tasting, fresh food market 7 days a week, NASCAR, Auditorium with performances, water sports, bike week, movie theater, and many more. We have a water and electricity hook ups for 4 spots. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal.There is a dog on the property. Dogs are ok but have to be cleaned after and be on the leash.Please no loud noise after the dark, no drugs or heavy drinking.Our guests love staying with us " We enjoyed our stay at Roxie’s place. Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."
