La Bougainvillea: Countryside/beach

1 site · Lodging5 acres · Palm City, FL
La Bougainvillea is the perfect place for a pleasant vacation in the tranquility of the countryside but close to the beach, city and shopping. Escape from your day to day and make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place located in this gem area called Florida Treasure Coast. You will enjoy all the sights and sounds of farm while easy reach to city life and beautiful beaches. Located within 2 hours north of Miami and 2 hours south of Orlando, best of Florida's larger attractions.La Bougainvillea is 520 square feet guess suite with an independent entrance attached to the main house (where actual owners and dogs live at) with plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. The room has an open concept with a main area where there is a super comfy Queen side bed plus a Twin size sofa bed for an extra guess or kid.PLEASE READ before choosing La Bougainvillea as your place to stay: We have 3 super friendly dogs in the premises and they will be super happy to see you and say hi to you, this is a 5 acre property and the dogs are usually running around the whole area and most likely you will encounter them more than once, treats are always welcome for them and they will love you for that. Remember this property is located in the country side of Palm City and even when we have a very good pest control, sometimes you can have an encounter with different critters and animals as coyotes, raccoons, snakes, chickens, hawks, lizards, armadillos, possums among other things. Our property runs on well water and even when we have an excellent 4 stages filtration system, there is sometimes an odor and/or color associated with this specially in raining season. We assure you the water is good and safe for drinking, cooking, bathing, and washing as per mentioned before it runs through a multistage filtration and softening system. We have within the property our own business which is an exclusive and private classic car restoration shop and sometimes noise and other vehicles can be heard or seen. It is also a nice opportunity to see the restoration process and sometimes the final cool looking restored vehicles.Due that we are in the countryside, our internet is Satellite, so it is not as fast as in the city but yes we do have WiFi and you can stream basically anything with a little bit of patience.

Glamping near West Palm Beach guide

Overview

With warm emerald waters, gentle surf, and amber sand, the star attraction of West Palm Beach is, undoubtedly and unsurprisingly, its beaches. From large public beaches off of downtown to peaceful beach parks with unspoiled dunes and swaying palms, there are many ways to swim, sunbathe, and surf your way through a West Palm Beach camping getaway. Guides and rentals for sports like kayaking, snorkeling, scuba, standup paddle boarding, and fishing are abundant, and there are also excellent hiking and biking opportunities for campers at Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Lake Okeechobee.

Where to go

West Palm Beach Surrounds

For a family-friendly beach day near West Palm Beach, check out Municipal Beach or Phipps Ocean Park. The city’s best snorkeling is at Phil Foster Park’s artificial reef in the Intercostal, a site loaded with tropical fish, while manatee lovers should not skip the Manatee Lagoon. Because of its location on Florida’s arterial I-95, West Palm Beach has a variety of RV resorts and RV parks with full hookups and free wifi that can accommodate big rigs and campers.

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

This beach park in North Palm Beach has 1.6 miles of immaculate beach backed by mangrove forests, hammocks, and the Intercoastal waterway. Loggerhead, leatherback, and green turtles nest on this beach from May to August, and paddlers may spot manatee, dolphins, and water birds in the area. Kayak and SUP rentals are available on-site.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park

One of the most dynamic parks near West Palm Beach is Jonathan Dickinson State Park, home to an extensive network of hiking trails through 16 natural communities and nine miles of dedicated mountain biking trails. You can also paddle on the Loxahatchee River. The park’s two campgrounds have tent sites and RV sites with full hookups, picnic tables, grills, and restrooms.

Lake Okeechobee

Just west of West Palm Beach, the enormous Lake Okeechobee has excellent bass fishing. The 109-mile Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail circles the lake and makes for a scenic hiking and biking route.

When to go

West Palm Beach’s busy camping season is winter, when its mild tropical weather gives visitors a warm reprieve from freezing temperatures in the Northeast. Fall and spring are both pleasant as well, but beware of spring break crowds. Summers in South Florida are hot and humid with heavy rain, making tent camping a struggle. Summer and fall are also hurricane season here, when monitoring weather and storm forecasts is a necessity.
