Stay by a lovely pond on 33 acre fruit and ornamental tree nursery property with great vibes.
Located near I-75 just 20 miles South of Tampa, 35 miles east of Saint Petersburg, 35 miles North of Sarasota, 2 hours West of Orlando.
This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay.
Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites.
Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants.
Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too.
Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand.
Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas.
The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish).
Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property.
We think the property is lovely, and definitely want you to enjoy your camping experience!

As a family who has towed campers across the US a couple times utilizing Hip Camp we know others will appreciate the ease of pulling into our little 1 acre urban oasis just a couple miles off the interstate in Floridas Coolest City.
It’s an ideal location to explore St Pete as we are right between the beaches and downtown (5 miles to St Pete beach, 4 miles to downtown -$10 Uber ride), Sarasota and/or Tampa. Ours is an urban spot based on ease, safety and location, not a wilderness "experience"
We have a paved circular driveway overlooking our beehives, henhouse and seasonal garden where you’ll find a table with chairs and plenty of space to cookout and enjoy a quiet evening with a great sunset by the blowing bamboo.
This is one of South St Pete’s oldest neighborhoods- it surrounds an active former PGA golf course and lively country club. It’s a great place for safely biking or walking with green spaces, tennis courts, playgrounds and dog parks nearby.
There are many owls, raptors, green parrots, purple martins and osprey overhead as we’re just a few blocks from the beautiful Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. - not to be missed!
The Pinellas Trail is just a short bike ride away too and can lead you to downtown. It is a cyclists favorite!

Located on the side of our home, it’s equipped with electric (heat and AC), propane, filtered water, and full sewer! This beautiful home on wheels will accommodate up to 5 people! It has a private bedroom with a queen size bed, a pull out couch and two full size bunkbeds. Fully stocked with clean and comfy bedding, bath and swim towels, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dish towels, dish soap, hand soap, toiletries, a kuerig with quality coffee, seasonings/olive oil, blue ray player w/ tons of DVDs, board games/playing cards, and even corn hole boards and bags (available by request)-basically everything is in there ready for you to enjoy this Floridian Paradise! The shower is nice and big and the bathroom has its own door to the outside. We are located 3 minutes from Sarasota Bay and 15 minutes from Anna Maria Island! There are over 20 amazing state parks within 35 miles of our location so you can explore your heart out! St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach, Pass-a-Grille Beach (and countless more), the Manatee Viewing Center and the Skyway Fishing Pier (longest fishing pier in the world) are about 30-45 mins away! Venice and Casperson Beach- the shark tooth capital of the world- is less than a hour drive from us! Come and go as you please! Safe and welcoming neighborhood. Park your vehicle in the driveway just feet from the RV. Our heated in ground pool, and backyard with charcoal BBQ, a blackstone grill and covered “tiki bar” area are available to use as well (ask about additional fee). Hope to see you soon! Loved our hosts. They were very responsive to requests and troubleshooting. Loved being able to hang out with their family as our dogs played. Camper was well equipped with we could possibly need- in the camper and for going to the beach. They provided dog bowls and a dog mat for us to use. Their son was sweet and very respectful and polite. Loved meeting some of his friends as well
The Neil had many young children that played outside. Neighborhood was safe and relatively quiet outside of work hours when leaving for work.
Great family- would definitely book again.

Mandy and Beau were such gracious and welcoming hosts. They ensured that we had everything we needed and were very responsive. The space was clean, stocked with kitchen necessities, and well maintained. The area was stellar as it is a short drive to the beach and has a cute downtown area with plenty of dining options. Just overall great vibes! Would definitely book again

Loved it! Really beautiful and well maintained yard and home. We stayed at the henhouse and our cats loved watching the chickens.
It felt very private because of all of the plants even though it’s on a corner lot.
Very quiet and safe neighborhood, little to no road noise at night.
We ubered to downtown and it was about $10-20. There is a free trolley that goes around downtown.
We also loved fort de Soto park 20min other direction.
Got good solar and Starlink connection.
Would definitely stay again!

The south end of the pond is close to a highway with pretty loud traffic noise so I moved around the pond to the west side which was much quieter. At one point Mike drove by and told me there was no problem with me switching sites. I was there for two nights. The first night it rained pretty hard but it didn’t bother me. The next morning it was still raining off and on and since I didn’t have any specific itinerary I just hung out and enjoyed the quiet and privacy.

We had a wonderful stay here with our RV. The property is peaceful and very quiet, which made it the perfect stop to relax and recharge. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming — they made us feel right at home. As a bonus, they even offered us fresh eggs and delicious starfruit from their place. We truly appreciated the experience and would definitely recommend this spot to other travelers!

Safe and clean place to park for the night, with a very well-maintained driveway. There’s space to set up a folding chair on the grass and enjoy your morning coffee while watching the hens in the nearby enclosure. No rooster to wake you up too early :)
Communication with the host was fast and friendly. I stayed here with a converted van about 22 feet long and had no issues at all. Highly recommended for a safe, peaceful, and relaxing stop during your travels.

It's on a beautiful spring-fed lake. Campsites are spread out, so very peaceful and a very attentive host. You feel like you're far away from it all, yet it's very handy to everything if you need groceries, camp supplies or even a meal in a restaurant. A great getaway.

Spectacular little oasis in town. It was perfect for us to take refuge for a couple of very quiet nights. It’s amazing to wake up and sip coffee getting the sun surrounded by greenery! Super close to beautiful bike trails, Vinoy Park, and the Dali museum (we didn’t have time to venture further—I’m sure there’s more!

We booked Mike & Bill’s place because we needed a place to just relax and let our two dogs run free. I also loved seeing the baby pigs. Mike was so friendly, he had chairs and firewood all ready for us when we arrived.
We loved just sitting by the pond and listening to the birds. The storm did quite a bit of damage ; my heart went out to Mike as he was working hard to get the place back together again. I appreciate that they want to conserve some of nature. Thanks again for sharing your property with us.

Myakka River State Park
Continue your tour of the Myakka River at Myakka River State Park. You’ll not only catch a glimpse of the trademark river, but may spot a variety of wildlife, from osprey to alligators to turtles. The river runs through a range of landscapes, so you can easily admire and engage with Florida’s astounding biodiversity. Keep both your bathing suit and hiking boots handy for any and all spontaneous adventures.
Oscar Scherer State Park
Not far from Venice, Oscar Scherer State Park changes with the seasons. Birdwatchers have the best chance to spot bald eagles in the winter months, while fishermen should test their luck in the summer season. From your RV campsite with water and electric hookups, you can meander across 15 miles of trails, either by foot or bike pedal. No matter where you look—at the sky, in the water, or at nature—you’re guaranteed an incredible view.
When to go
Who doesn’t love sunshine in the wintertime? Unfortunately, everyone has the same idea and flocks to Florida’s coast during the cold months. Summertime, however, comes with hurricane threats and scorching temperatures. For the city’s least crowded—but still temperate—climate, avoid the two extremes. Fall and spring maintain ideal hiking weather, a reduced chance of storms, and crowds at their most bearable.
