Weekend Trip to THE Farmstay for Animal Lovers!

What an amazing stay. The wagon was beautiful and clean. We had everything that we needed and the beds were very comfy. We loved sitting by the fire pit and enjoying the nature around us. I really loved feeding the animals and having them roam around freely around you was a treat ! Elaine was a lovely host and very attentive. I would definitely go back! Thank you Elaine for a wonderful weekend.

We tent camped on the pasture and loved it. There were several camper vans and one trailer that stayed there as well, but there was plenty of space to spread out and have privacy. The shower was surprisingly hot and had great water pressure. The animals are very friendly, several horses, dogs, and cats roaming. One of the dogs, MaeMae, joined us for breakfast every morning we were there. She was so sweet. Just watch out for fire ants!

We camped in a van and it was very quiet-slight hums of airplanes in the afternoon and very faint sounds of the gun range in the morning. Nothing to worry about if you are a light sleeper. (This is regarding the review that complained about the noise. ). Also, it did not smell like a farm. 😊 Gayle was quick to respond and we enjoyed our stay

Weekend Trip to Country Charm Ranch (near St. Aug)

We had a great time camping at Stephanie’s. Directions were clear and simple, and we had many different spots we could pitch the tent. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the animals and getting to spend some time with them. The turkey was very sweet! Great place for a short staycation, out in nature but not far from stores, restaurants and St. Augustine. Would recommend!

What a gem of a place. All the farm animals wandering around, with as much right to be there as any human. A chance to hang out, get to know them, pet them, feed them even, and nourish cross species relationships. :-) my partner and children and I loved this place. I would love to return again.

Weekend Trip to THE Farmstay for Animal Lovers!

It was AMAZING!! We stayed in the Wagon #2 it was clean had very nice bathrooms, comfortable bed everything you could ask for. Loved feeding the animals and got to help brush the horses. Elaine was an amazing host and workers were more then helpful with questions and telling you about the animals and how some got lucky to make it to Elaine’s farm. Would definitely do it again!

Shhhh don’t tell anyone but this Hipcamp is Paradise 💖 right ON the River, peaceful, breezy, private, wonderful path through the woods, surprising little “fairy lights” scattered about the property, and sunsets that are THE MOST Magical ☀️💥🧡 I can’t wait to come back - thank you!!

It was lovely! Near downtown st augustine which was perfect for us, loved that our dog was allowed off leash as he stays close anyway, got to feed the horses in the morning - shower was hot and felt safe and had enough privacy!

Stayed here for two nights with my wife, 2 kids and our dog. Host was very nice and was helpful in helping us find the campground as we went in through the first gate lol others have made the same mistake, keep going down the road there’s another gate at the next left. The campground was nice, my kids enjoyed seeing the the horses and chickens. The porta potty was as clean as a porta potty can get, was nice to have available. There is a shower, although we personally didn’t use it. It is attached to the back of what seemed like where someone was living? So kinda threw us a little to see personal items in the shower like shower gel and razors. The kids did play in the playground and trampoline which was nice, they showed their age but was functional. We used the existing fire pit to build a fire both nights, make sure to bring your own wood, I did see some there but wasn’t sure if it was available to all and it was covered in carpenter ants. The ONLY thing that I think would prevent me from staying here again was the noise at night. There is a train that blares its horn all night, I read it in previous reviews but figured people were exaggerating. They were not. It is ALL NIGHT LONG and is loud, it kept us up both nights. We were considering leaving after the first night. There is a little bit of road noise that can be heard as well but that wasn’t such a big deal. All in all, good experience but be forewarned.

2 nights at La Quinta Bonita Homestead

Kelley & Vic were very hospitable to us; we enjoyed the tour of their property, as well as the homemade bread and eggs we were able to purchase from their homestead. They also had great recommendations for us regarding nearby outdoor recreation areas. We thoroughly enjoyed Ravine Gardens State Park and visiting Angels Diner in Palatka. We comfortably fit two adults in the camper, and we’re grateful that the other adult who came with us had an in-car camping set up. It would have been very, very tight had all three of us needed to fit in the camper. We’d recommended no more than two for the camper. Camper did have a neat cooler/fridge inside that was spacious! The outdoor shower was amazing - all three of us absolutely loved it! And the fact that warm water was accessible was a win. The water got up to about 88 degrees or so. The compostable toilet was inside a small tent and cleaned daily. It felt slightly on display just with how close it was to the fire pit, but was convenient and easy to access. The fire pit was the perfect size, and tons of wood was supplied ($10/night). Our favorite part was hanging out around the fire pit during the evenings under the stars. TONS of stars, and beautiful wind blowing through the trees. Lots of fun animal sounds too! If you plan to cook over the fire, be sure to bring your own tools and equipment. All in all, great experience! We’d go again and are looking forward to seeing how Kelley and Vic continue to grow their homestead!

We absolutely loved parking our 30ft RV at Jen’s MOON site. Communication was perfection the whole time and Jen was so accomodating when we needed to amend our dates. Jen gave us great tips on visiting St Augustine with an RV, a short drive away and welcomed my children into her yard where they played on the playground and with all the lovely farm animals (pigs, a horse, dogs and cats). If we are ever in this part of the world again (from Australia) we would love to return.

I actually did not make it to this site, but the host was very accommodating when messaging back-and-forth. It looks amazing in the pictures and has lots of good reviews so the next time I’m in the area I will try it out for sure.

Gayle’s property was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gayle and all the animals were super friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing, close to all St Augustine has to offer. There were others camping in the area but it still felt very spacious and private. The outdoor shower is amazing! The toilet is port-o-potty but it was super clean and sanitary. There is drinking water but you might want to bring your own if you don’t want to carry it far. I would definitely stay here again!

Campsites are on a small horse farm located just 4 miles from downtown St Augustine and 5 miles from Vilano Beach. Many hiking and water activities within 30 minutes. You select the space you where you wish to set up camp. The entrance off the dirt road is tricky for large rigs or trailers more than 35' may not have easy access. Our sites offer potable water, a shower, picnic tables, a toilet, wifi, trash disposal, space for campfires, and we are pet friendly! We can accommodate tents, RVs, and trailers. Our guests love staying here: "Camping at Gayle’s property was an amazing experience. We shared the field with 3 other campers but there was still plenty of room between sites. Land is flat and has fire pit spaces and BBQ grills. Outdoor shower was appreciated even though we didn’t use it & it was great to have the port-o-potty on site. The best part was getting to see the animals!"

We just finished (well 2 years ago) traveling the country in an RV with five of our 7 kids (oldest two were in college) and we had a terrible time finding places to stay in Saint Augustine when we came home to visit. Things to do: The property is near the historic St. Augustine, a fun walkable/bikeable city, lots of state parks and of course an awesome beach! Other things to note: 6 Miles away is 4 Lakes Campground with dumping facilities

But you can book a cow cuddle if you'd like to go in and interact with the cows, especially the Highland cow. It is a wonderful experience for the cow lovers. Come on out to the country for the experience of a lifetime interacting with sweet farm animals in luxury accommodations or bring your own RV or a tent and "rough" it in your choice of spots on our beautiful 20 acre property surrounded by lots of amazing wild creatures of all sorts and our friendly animal ambassadors. We have butterfly gardens, one with a bee hive, and we're surrounded by natural woodlands in a convenient yet private and peaceful setting. Maybe you'll spot a bald eagle getting a meal from our ponds! There's so much to see and enjoy right here at the sanctuary, we have over 100 rescued animals who can't wait to meet you and maybe bum a snack from you too. If you get bored, there is plenty to do nearby: Goldhead Park, a paved Bike Trail, Jacksonville, St Augustine, High Springs, Ocala and Gainesville are all within an hour's drive. Melrose is quaint and rural. We don't rush here. Except at feeding time! You'll get to experience that too if you get out early enough. (9AM) We can't wait to meet you! You'll come as a guest and leave as a friend! No smoking in our units, no pets due to our animals and our Anatolian guard dog who will love you but not a pooch they don't know.
