Welcome to your own, private campsite in the heart of Weeki Wachee surrounded by the wildlife management area, various state parks and fresh water springs! Our well-maintained campsite is a big, open area with full sun, surrounded by trees which give you plenty of shade if preferred. It is quiet and dark enough for you to hear the wildlife at night! The primitive backyard campsite rural, secluded and easy accessible, the spot is 20 feet wide so you’ll have enough space for your motorhome to pull in. We, the owners, will be your neighbors (on the same property) so we can assist you with your needs. Right now what we have available is a 20 amp extension cord and a water hose. You can also run your generator. THINGS TO DO The wildlife management area is a one minute walk from the campsite with the buford and eagle nest springs inside. There is also a distillery (NJoy Spirit) on site. Seven Sisters springs are a ten minute car ride away. You can rent a kayak or a canoe to go out and see dolphins, turtles, alligators, manatees, snakes, deer, various birds or even bears. Other springs in the area are Hunters Springs, Rogers Park and Three Sisters springs. Crystal River is a charming, historical town 25 minutes north. You’ll pass Homosassa and their State Park (the oldest Hippo Lu (65) lives here). At the waterfront restaurant ‘Crumps’ you can watch monkeys on an island! Dames Cave in Lecanto is about 17 minutes from here with multiple caves to explore. The famous Weeki Wachee Springs State park is a 15 minute drive south highway 19. Howard’s Flea Market is the largest in Citrus County, 10 minutes north from the camp site. ‚Adventure Flg X’ is a fun Zip Line park in Brooksville. Rainbow River Springs is an hour north from Twin Pines. The park has beautiful scenic trails and a water temperature of 72 degrees year round which invites you to explore the river in a tube or kayak. The Weeki Wachee preserve is another beautiful, close spot worth visiting. Disney World, Legoland and Universal Studios are within two hours. St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa and Tarpon Springs are must-see cities! Beaches: Pine Island, Fort Island, Sunwest Park Beach. Further away: Madeira Beach, Honeymoon Island & Fort DeSoto. Make sure the beaches are open!

Beautiful spot overlooking Lake Weir in The Ocala National Forest. Watch the otters play and count the many different birds that make this lake their home. Treat yourself sunsets every night as the sun disappears into the water and enjoy the awesome reflection of the moon as it sets on the lake. (Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight). We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake. The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock. We also have citronella torches available for rent. We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10. Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible. It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground. We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so. Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people. Each site has its own fire pit. Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews. Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge. I'm a professional photographer with 30 years of experience. Please inquire if you are interested in having your portrait made at this incredible location. We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again. You can rent a kayak or a canoe to go out and see dolphins, turtles, alligators, manatees, snakes, deer, various birds or even bears. Other springs in the area are Hunters Springs, Rogers Park and Three Sisters springs. Crystal River is a charming, historical town 25 minutes north. You’ll pass Homosassa and their State Park (the oldest Hippo Lu (65) lives here). At the waterfront restaurant ‘Crumps’ you can watch monkeys on an island! Dames Cave in Lecanto is about 17 minutes from here with multiple caves to explore. The famous Weeki Wachee Springs State park is a 15 minute drive south highway 19. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground. We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so. Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people. Each site has its own fire pit. Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews. Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge. We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake. The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening. Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge. You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music. Electric and water hookup (garden hose) both sites. RV 30 amp electric hookup, as well as regular 15 amp electric hookup on hilltop site. Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle. Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock. Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road. Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected. Diane and Chris's property was perfect. The property itself is beautiful and nicely tucked away for some peace and quiet while still being very convenient to normal amenities and the special aspects of the Homosassa and Crystal River area. Our dogs had lots of space to roam and were particularly fond of Diane. Diane and Chris were both extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had whatever we needed. Diane is such a kind soul; she made excellent recommendations for the area and continually offered us amenities and help. One of our dogs got sick and she even kept checking in on her the rest of our stay. By far a favorite spot and favorite hosts for us.

Private, quiet oasis on dead-end road adjacent to the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail and within walking distance to Depot Park, Cade Museum, and downtown Gainesville. Shared the site with deer frolicking and birds singing each day. Excellent communication with host before arrival. Host is available on site, if necessary, Greeted with six-pack of beer from First Magnitude Brewing Company. Host also offered electric scooters for transportation. Stayed at Downtown Nature Retreat twice in the past month....and would say again whenever in Gainesville! Highly recommend! Check out Paynes Prairie Preserve. Visit Humble Pie, Grand Scheme Brewing, Lynx Bookstore, 4th Street Food Court, and Karma Cream.

Cool secluded spot for camping. Traveled with our 2 dogs for a quick overnight stay. The site had a fire pit and a table with chairs which was nice. There was a porta potty available close to the site. Quite & peaceful place to sleep under the stars. Host was responsive and super nice. No complaints :)
