This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). We opened to the public on Labor Day 2014. Most people come to stay either in our rental cottage or in their horse trailers/RVs with their horses to ride the awesome trails in the 20,000+ acre adjacent Croom Forest. However, because our ranch is so peaceful, many stay here without horses just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There are many opportunities to recreate in the area, including outstanding mountain and road biking, OHVing, hiking, golfing, and canoeing/kayaking. Many full-time and working RVers stay for extended periods. Note that our camping area is small and intimate, so you will be close to other campers. We have 5 30-amp hookups, and 2 50-amp hookups; if you need 50-amp service, please request it. Note that a minimum of a 2-night stay will typically be required on weekends, especially during our busy season. WiFi is available, but we call it "Country WiFi" since it sometimes can be slow and may or may not be accessible from where you are parked; also, Verizon cell service in our area is terrible. If internet access is important to you, we suggest having your own hotspot or internet service (many working RVers have Starlink). Note that GPS can be very mean in our rural area; make sure your turn off Highway 50 is onto paved High Corner Road, which is 2 miles west of I-75 (if GPS tries to turn you down unpaved, dead-end roads, DO NOT LISTEN..you will get stuck!). If you don't have your own RV, you can rent one from Ray Day's RV Rentals (229-515-7008), which is literally around the corner.

The site is located next to our cattle ranch, and you will likely see our sweet herd of cows grazing in a nearby pasture (some of the friendly ones may come up to the fence to say hi). This offers you privacy while still being close to I-75 and all the modern conveniences (Publix supermarket is 1 mile away). We are third generation cattle ranchers here in beautiful Bradenton, Florida, and on our property you'll find many species of palm trees and tropical plants. Mornings are filled with birdsong, and you may see Sandhill Cranes, Ospreys, White Ibis, or even a Roseate Spoonbill -- and of course the rabbits, lizards and monarch butterflies that also enjoy this special little slice of paradise. We live in the house next door to the campsite, and you'll likely see Ryan around the property working during your stay. Our ranch offers you a chance to relax and reconnect with nature, while only being minutes from restaurants and convenience stores; 15 minutes from University Town Center, 15 minutes from Ellenton Outlets, and 30 minutes to downtown Sarasota.

A working farm oasis perfect for primitive camping! There is a sandy drive looping around a pond area where rustic camp sites are designated; so it makes the camping best for tenting or a camper van sized vehicle. There is no restroom, showering, water, electric available, but this is not a deal breaker. The land is lovely and sites are well spaced and give you privacy. A bit of highway hum can be heard, but not enough to distract or keep you awake. It is best to make reservations in advance and arrive prior to sundown. This will give you time to scope out the farm and sites as there is no lighting to guide you. I would definitely stay again!

Nice quiet spot, was a bit confused finding gate as it’s at a dead end in a neighborhood and I assumed it was more country from the pics, so I thought I was lost. Mike was very helpful and met me at the gate and I followed him to my spot. Surroundings in my area were pretty. Site 7 wasn’t exactly as the pic represented.. it was a pull off next to the dirt road that takes you around the pond. Not much room to put out a tent but I was camping in my car so it was fine for me. I drove around the pond and other areas had more room, so if you’re tent camping I’d pick a different site than 7. Overall, it’s a great location and a nice safe stay and would stay here again

Camping at Melissa & Ryan's place was absolutely great in every way! We were welcomed with the kindest greeting and they made us feel so comfortable being at their place. We travel with a small teardrop camper and have to set up shade and privacy tents along with awnings and I was a little worried they would be annoyed by our little tent city in their yard. Instead they encouraged us to set up however we wanted and assisted us with filling our water tank and showing us around the place. The site itself was perfect, large and spacious with a concrete patio, Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. Full electric hookup and access to their hose. The land was flat and easy to park our trailer on. We had complete privacy and felt comfortable hanging out there and coming and going as we pleased. Melissa helped us add extra nights and was quick to reply to any text. Overall it was a great stay and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a stay in this area to use Melissa! Also - an easy driving distance to so many beaches - we made it to Sarasota, Bradenton, Tampa, and Siesta Key. A perfect camping trip. THANKS MELISSA & RYAN! Xoxo

Loved camping at Lucky U Ranch! My tent site was so beautifu with old oaks and Cypress trees providing shade and an open area to view the stars. Very peaceful and quiet with dim lighting for viewing the sky. Sites are spaced well for privacy also. Hot showers and tasty complementary coffee and hot chocolate or cold water. Wildlife abounds and the farm animals are friendly. Hiking trails too! Rob and Mike are wonderful hosts. Plenty of extras available too.

Absolutely wonderful stay with fabulous hosts!! We are 25 ft RV and there was plenty of room on level grass with 30 electric. Beautiful yard with sun and shade, nice patio with chairs and outdoor grill. We loved seeing the cattle off in the back and it was quiet and peaceful. Perfect spot and we will definitely stay again. Hard to believe how close to town - we even had pizza delivered!

There is a reason the Lucky U Ranch was featured in the 2025 Best of Hipcamp - it is an amazing, beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Mike and Rob are WONDERFUL hosts and such very nice people. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We were there for an event in a neighboring town. The event was cancelled but instead of leaving we decided to stay and enjoy the ranch and we are so glad we did. We enjoyed the farm tour and seeing all of the animals that reside at the ranch. We had 3 - four legged guests each morning for breakfast that were friendly and truly loved apples. Our site was level and well maintained. Having a pad with a picnic table and outdoor carpet landing for our stairs was great. We camped in a 35 ft travel trailer. No issues entering the property or getting to our campsite.

Here you’ll find tranquility, peacefulness, and well thought out & intentional spaces; truly an oasis full of fun days & star-gazing nights! Rob & Mike thought of everything to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Quiet place with all the amenities you could ask for (Bathroom, hot shower, coffee station, etc.) while still feeling like you’re secluded out in nature. Visits from the horses and donkeys to start the morning; as well as all of the wildlife surrounding you throughout the day & night; truly make this place special! The tour is one of the best parts! So many sweet animals who are well loved & want all the treats you can offer! This place heals the soul!!

3 nights at T.L.C.'S GYPSY HAVEN

The camping on Tammi’s property was just as advertised. We got a nice little spot right next to the barrel racing arena and watched the girls running the horses through their paces every evening. Tammi was very gracious and allowed us an electric hookup and use of the bathroom in the horse barn. The property is off the main road and secluded. It’s also gated, so no worry if you need to leave your stuff for a while and run in to town. If we’re in the area, we will definitely stay again.
