Taste of Old Florida

A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is

due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats.

We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like.

Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle.

We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want then this may not be your kind of place.

Depending on the season and availability we may have local honey and/or firewood available for purchase. 

Plenty of Parking area for a horse trailer available

Taking a hike in the Allapattah Flats, where you also can ride your horse! 

This is a picture of the front of the barn, hot and cold water hose available for horse and people baths! Stalls have self watering buckets. Bring your own shavings and food.

100 acres of Florida land. 20 acres of primitive camping and the rest is a working farm with horses and cows. Arena, lodge, bathrooms, and lots of green grass. Lodge may be closed at times, for private functions

Stalls are available upon request. 

 NO SMALL CHILDREN. 10 YRS AND OVER.

CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.

PLEASE DO NOT START A CAMP FIRE BEFORE CHECKING WITH MANAGMENT.

IF YOU USE THE LODGE, PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES AND TURN OFF LIGHTS.

DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH. NO DOGS AROUND THE LODGE, BARNS OR THE HORSES.

DO NOT FEED HORSES ANYTHING.

The main lodge has a really cool back porch area. Scenic and comfortable.

Mini horse! Affectionately referred to as Tina Turner. (I kept calling her David Bowie...)

Inside the lodge. We were also told that in the event of rain, it'd be ok to sleep up on that upper area. Also below, full kitchen available!

Summer Crush is the culmination of decades of growing experience, years of vineyard and winery planning and development by owner/vintner Gary Roberts, and integrates the sun and fun of Florida and the Roberts' Family's interests in all things tropical and water. If you are a surfer ask about a personal tour of Gary’s Surf Barn and we will try to accommodate.

While we are familiar with the joy of camping with children, we are an adult destination and an agricultural working farm and are not ideal for guests camping with children. We ask that children remain in campsite area and in direct supervision of adults at all times.

Camping Amenities: Upgraded Sites Available, Access to Potable Water fill., Dumpster/Recycling Bins, Late, after-hours check-ins are available, please inquire if needed.

Upgraded Sites include: Power, Water, and Dump Station Access, and pad for RV.  We reserve upgraded sites up to 6 months in advance and can be quite busy in season Jan-April. If you would like an upgraded site, please contact us ahead of your stay, to check availability and to reserve.

Live Music Events Weekly  – If you would like to attend a music event on your checkout date and would like to leave afterwards, please inquire for options.

Camper supply cabinet "take what you need and leave what you don’t".  Festival Area with Lawn games, a Disc Golf Course through the vineyard, Pond, "Dock" and Picnic Pavilion with tables with seating for up to 24, charcoal BBQ grill, community firepit and fishing dock!!

Small above ground fire pits allowed. We offer a nightly fire pit rental and firewood and ice are available for purchase.

We are a 36 acre working farm, as well as a well-known live music entertainment venue. The weekends can be busy, especially in season with our more popular events. If live music and other campers here are not a fit for you, we recommend visiting us on a weekday or off-season. But please know the camp sites are far from music stage, pavilion, and festival area, and the music is usually ONLY during the afternoons and over by 4pm, so the evenings are quiet. Many of our HH customers come back several times a year for our weekend entertainment.

Since we are a working farm property, there may be farm activity early some mornings, usually weekdays. We want you to know all this when deciding if we are a good fit for you to visit

Come enjoy the peacefulness of nature and a night sky full of stars.About the propertyOur property is close to Vero Beach to the south and Melbourne to the north. We are not far outside of the town of Fellsmere where you can find some restaurants and services if needed.Our property is great for hiking, biking, local fishing, or hanging out with our farm animals. There are trails to be found less than a mile from our property but you can also head to Sebastian Preserve for hiking or over to Stick Marsh for fishing.Your hosts are onsite and we like to meet campers and just get to know them a little. Then we leave the campers alone unless they need something :)About the listingOur property has two sites that can accommodate tent camping or van/truck camping and we look forward to welcoming you. Please keep in mind that if you are brining a van or truck camper the maximum length we can accommodate is 20 ft. We do not have any hookups at this time so you will be dry camping or tent camping only. The surface of the sites is grassy and does need some leveling if you’re in a van.
