3 nights at Waterfront Paradise

The beautiful lake front view has stunning sunsets and a nice cool breeze. We stayed during the 4th of July and could see fireworks all the way around the lake!

1 night at Runaway Bay Lodge

This is a great spot! Incredibly relaxing and full of fresh air. I loved laying out on the deck, fishing, and having a safe place to spend the night with nature on the other side of the door. The site comes plenty of amenities (hot shower, window AC units, indoor plumbing, stovetop burners, microwave, and fridge among other things). The owners have done a great job decorating the place, making functional and comfortable living spaces, and are just genuinely nice and sweet people. I had a great time and will be back!

2 nights at La Quinta Bonita Homestead

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2-day stay at Kelley and Victor's slice of heaven. Loved camping in their sky tent, which fared very well with the summer storm that came through the first night. Kelley and Victor adore their home, and it shows. They have a gorgeous garden and are consistently improving to beautify the land. The outdoor shower was the absolute perfect temperature. Thanks, Kelley and Victor for a great visit. I so enjoyed the quiet time amongst the trees.

1 night at Runaway Bay Lodge

Our experience here was more than we asked for. My partner and I enjoyed a day here during our birthday weekend and they really made it extra special for us. They even surprised us with a b-day desert. The chef that made the vegan burger is an excellent cook and the secluded yurt was lovely. We really enjoyed the opportunity to paint a memory on the walls of their abode as there were many other visitors that also left their memory. The tiki bar was chill and they have a lovely pool table and hot tub. It’s a very romantic place and it would be a great place to get away.

This little slice of heaven is absolutely breathtaking. It backs up on to the lake. Very clean and well taken care of. Sunset was beautiful. Outdoor shower works very well. Saw fish, osprey and plenty of gators.

Nice new hipcamp. Sam met us when we arrived and we walked to check site. Site 3 is what you wood expect. Gravel, water, picnic table. Fire-pit, and electric. Tall pines and shade. Definitely would stay again. Two adults and large dog. Lance truck camper.

We loved camping at Jay's place. The land was beautiful. The hot tub and outdoor kitchen added to it. The hosts were very helpful too.

2 nights at Tangerine Hideaway

This spot is in a great location and was quiet and secluded enough for us. There was some shade and plenty of trees to make for a peaceful setting. We saw squirrels and birds and several butterflies. The spots were nice but tight. We have a 25' skoolie (12' clearance) and I don't think anything much larger than us would have fit easily with all the low hanging branches and trees. The neighboring spots were close by but more private than any RV park we've stayed at. We loved our stay and the host was helpful and accommodating with any questions we had. The original coordinates in the app took us to the wrong place but that's suposedly an issue with Google and will hopefully be fixed in the future. If you find yourself at a black iron gate with a beware of dog sign then you're at the wrong place. The driveway is only accessible from Terrell Rd. We would come back here anytime. We loved the area and downtown Mt. Dora is adorable, everybody was so friendly and many unique places to shop and spend the day exploring the town.

Very calm and a little spooky. I car camped here for the weekend while I went to a festival, this means I was coming back late at night. The drive there is very spooky at night with no lights (which is expected), but there is a motion spot light on the property. As far as utilities, there are both RV and regular electric plugs. The outdoor shower is sketch, idk how often the water in the tanks get moved so I'd be concerned about still water. (Good place to shower with your own water bladder). I'd come here again.

Such a nice place to camp. The host was great and so was their sweet little Bengal kitty that came to hang out with me in the morning before I left. Absolutely loved the hidden spot.

Weekend Trip to Tangerine Hideaway

My husband and I loved staying at Tangerine Hideaway! They are correct in calling it a hideaway as it is tucked away and remote however still just minutes from downtown Mt. Dora. When we visited, the sites were finalized but were still working diligently to clean up and clear out around the property. They also have plans to add a bath house soon. The sites are spacious with water, electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. Great tree coverage which provided nice shade. They have 3 long-term mini rental homes toward the front of the property with the 5 tent and RV/camper sites directly behind. Host was out of town but other family members and property workers were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Even got the warmest hello from the sweet watch dog, Boomer. Looking forward to visiting again soon and excited to see what more they add to the property!

6 nights at Annamac’s Hideaway

When we arrived we were met and directed where to pull in. Area was easily accessible for our 45 ft camper, back in. Very quiet area. Was worried because you are kind of close to owners house but barely saw anyone. Seems to be a very well used site, had a few other campers in and out. Again we really never saw others!!! Highly recommend. Very close to space center, Merritt Island refuge, site seeing, good dining and Cape Canaveral port. 30/50 amp hook up, water. Close to a Loves truck stop, KOA and other campgrounds for dumping waste. Had some plan changes and owners were very kind to accommodate for a longer stay!!! Thank you very much for your hospitality and sharing your space with us. Would definitely come back!!!

Plenty of stuff to do around - fishing, canoeing and swimming- within 10-15 minutes to the River, Beaches and the Ocean; tons of natural preserves, parks and historic places. Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground is across the street. 20-30 min to Daytona Beach or historic St.Augustine. A little over an hour to Orlando with Disney, Universal and other parks, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral. Whatever your interest is - you can find it around - many of restaurants, wine tasting, fresh food market 7 days a week, NASCAR, Auditorium with performances, water sports, bike week, movie theater, and many more. We have a water and electricity hook ups for 4 spots. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal.There is a dog on the property. Dogs are ok but have to be cleaned after and be on the leash.Please no loud noise after the dark, no drugs or heavy drinking.Our guests love staying with us " We enjoyed our stay at Roxie’s place. Really great location close to the beach and grocery stores and restaurants, yet it is still in a quiet place just off the beaten path. Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

5 J’s Camp

5 J’s Camp is completely private 2.5 acres that backs the Ocala National Forest in Umatilla . This our family getaway, we are a family of 5 and we all have names that start the letter J. There are endless places to put a tent including by the lake, or completely private areas, or by the common areas to be close to a bathroom and kitchen and pavilion, water and electric. The amenities include a pavilion with an outside kitchen, dinning and living area. There is also a ( large shed converted to a ) cook shack with a full size fridge, microwave, electric burners and a toaster oven. There is also a bathroom with a full-size shower/tub, hot water and a toilet. It comes with all of the basics to be comfortable while you camp. Also, you have a good chance of being alone. we usually only book 1 party at a time, Just message me to confirm. The property has enough lighting to completely light up the common area. There is also water and electric all over the property. There is a shooting range right outside of the property that is part of the forest. There is Blue Sink several miles away, it is a spring feed swimming hole that is deep enough for SCUBA. There is horse trails and OHV trails as well. This camp was a hunting camp and still has an huge animal cleaning station on the back side of the property, with water, drainage, power, lighting and all stainless steel sinks and counters. Come to play and explore or come to relax. Our camp is always (slowly)being Improved, you might see work in progress so be aware there may be a consolidated area that looks messy. This is a camp, everything gets dusty, and there are bugs. We keep the yard kept up and do what we can to limit bugs in the common area. I recommend a 4x4 although I don’t own one my self. The roads are usually decent, but the weather has a lot to do with roads in the forest.

Learn more about this land: Fiddlers Green is a former Mounted Police Training Ranch and is in park-like setting just at the southern edge of the Ocala National Forest but close by to many activities, shops and amenities. You will have the option of an available site for your length of stay, to camp under live oaks or in our field depending on your amperage service needs. Office with small store. Gazebo over looking the lake, horseshoes, volleyball and basketball. There is a community firepit and charcoal grill in the picnic area. You can take a stroll along the small lake while enjoying birds, wildlife and horses. Horse accommodations: (paddocks and stalls) are available as well, please reach out to us directly. We have a covered and outdoor arena for horses to be lunged and/or trained. Coggins required upon arrival and before horses exit the trailer. Pet friendly: we have a dog park. Dogs must be on at least a 10ft leash and restrained at all times. Dogs are not to be left unattended outside at any time. If you are going to leave for an extended amount of time you need to take your dog with or find a doggie day care. We boarder the Ocala National Forest with it's 100 miles of trails for hiking, biking, fishing, OHV and horseback riding. Alexander Springs is the closest among many to snorkel, canoe and/or swim in 72* crystal clear water year round. Mt. Dora, Umatilla and Eustis are within 20 mins for restaurants, shops, golf and antiques, etc. If you have any questions your hosts will be happy to help. Choose a site to book - this may not be the actual site that you will have due to the booking calendar. You may be able to change once you arrive if other sites are available for your length of stay. Camp Shiloh

Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village.
