Your dogs are welcome but must supervised while you're away from the property. We have some wonderful neighbors and do not want to disturb them. There are security cameras present on the property. This is a wonderful "Forgotten Coast" region of the Florida panhandle with so much to see and do within minutes. This area took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael in 2018 and has worked hard at recovery, with so much rebuilding and growth over the last few years. Howard Creek is an eclectic little fishing community made up of a variety of residents from weekend fishers, summer or winter visitors and full time residents. This little golf cart community offers a small general store, a small community church, a volunteer fire department and two landings to put your boat in. Just 20 minutes from the quaint little beach town of Port Saint Joe, Florida. PSJ is known for its warm, welcoming people, old world Florida feel, dog-friendly beaches, Cape San Blas and Indian Pass. Many locally owned wonderful restaurants, bakeries and shops. It's easy to find a charter out of PSJ if you're interested in fishing! If you leave our site and head north, you're just 35 minutes from the Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka; some gorgeous old Florida natural views and fresh water fishing; bream, large mouth bass, crappie, shellcracker and catfish.

I am offering short term rentals of my houseboat this season. It is located on the Apalachicola River about 1 mile upstream of NEAL LANDING near Blountstown and only accessible by motor boat or paddle vessel. The houseboat is in a fixed location and does not move. It is furnished with 2 beds, a futon, and a loft for extra sleeping space and there is a generator for power. THIS IS A PRIMITIVE CAMP, NOT A LUXURY RESORT STAY. You have to bring gasoline for the generator if you want power. The beds have mattress covers and sheets but you should bring your own sleeping bag and pillow cover. You relieve yourself at the boat ramp porta-potty ~1 mile away or in a (compostable) bag inside a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid out back and put it in my compost bin or haul it out with your trash. You have to bring in bottled drinking water or a Sawyer filter for the river water. There is a propane stove/oven, a charcoal grill and also a fire pit out front if you bring wood or collect it. There is an (outside) propane instant hot water heater with a shower head and a privacy screen if you need to get clean and don't want to hop in the drink. Service is spotty with AT&T but I get a few bars here and there. My goal here is to offer a unique experience and a code to the door for you to use it for the agreed time frame, not provide everything for you. I would be charging more for each stay if that were the case because it would be a real challenge for me to get to it and keep it stocked. If you come prepared for an enjoyable camping trip you will have a great time, if you come with nothing you will probably not. This would be my first time renting it out and so I do not have all of the logistics sorted, but I'd be willing to talk to someone and see if we can work something out if more reasonable amenities/comforts are required. This is an awesome camp for duck hunting or fishing weekend with enough room for a few buddies to drink some beer in the evening and relax, and this is NOT some random cash grab rental property. This is my personal camp retreat that I only want to share with people who are going to be respectful of it and the river. More photos coming soon.

You're welcome to use the remaining space under the pole barn for your leisure, approximately 20x35 ft. We're dog people! Your dogs are welcome but must supervised while you're away from the property. We have some wonderful neighbors and do not want to disturb them. There are security cameras present on the property. This is a wonderful "Forgotten Coast" region of the Florida panhandle with so much to see and do within minutes. This area took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael in 2018 and has worked hard at recovery, with so much rebuilding and growth over the last few years. Howard Creek is an eclectic little fishing community made up of a variety of residents from weekend fishers, summer or winter visitors and full time residents. This little golf cart community offers a small general store, a small community church, a volunteer fire department and two landings to put your boat in. Just 20 minutes from the quaint little beach town of Port Saint Joe, Florida. PSJ is known for its warm, welcoming people, old world Florida feel, dog-friendly beaches, Cape San Blas and Indian Pass. Many locally owned wonderful restaurants, bakeries and shops. It's easy to find a charter out of PSJ if you're interested in fishing! If you leave our site and head north, you're just 35 minutes from the Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka; some gorgeous old Florida natural views and fresh water fishing; bream, large mouth bass, crappie, shellcracker and catfish.

Turtle Whisperer Houseboat

I am offering short term rentals of my houseboat this season. It is located on the Apalachicola River about 1 mile upstream of NEAL LANDING near Blountstown and only accessible by motor boat or paddle vessel. The houseboat is in a fixed location and does not move. It is furnished with 2 beds, a futon, and a loft for extra sleeping space and there is a generator for power. THIS IS A PRIMITIVE CAMP, NOT A LUXURY RESORT STAY. You have to bring gasoline for the generator if you want power. The beds have mattress covers and sheets but you should bring your own sleeping bag and pillow cover. You relieve yourself at the boat ramp porta-potty ~1 mile away or in a (compostable) bag inside a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid out back and put it in my compost bin or haul it out with your trash. You have to bring in bottled drinking water or a Sawyer filter for the river water. There is a propane stove/oven, a charcoal grill and also a fire pit out front if you bring wood or collect it. There is an (outside) propane instant hot water heater with a shower head and a privacy screen if you need to get clean and don't want to hop in the drink. Service is spotty with AT&T but I get a few bars here and there. My goal here is to offer a unique experience and a code to the door for you to use it for the agreed time frame, not provide everything for you. I would be charging more for each stay if that were the case because it would be a real challenge for me to get to it and keep it stocked. If you come prepared for an enjoyable camping trip you will have a great time, if you come with nothing you will probably not. This would be my first time renting it out and so I do not have all of the logistics sorted, but I'd be willing to talk to someone and see if we can work something out if more reasonable amenities/comforts are required. This is an awesome camp for duck hunting or fishing weekend with enough room for a few buddies to drink some beer in the evening and relax, and this is NOT some random cash grab rental property. This is my personal camp retreat that I only want to share with people who are going to be respectful of it and the river. More photos coming soon.

Very well, kept with a beautiful scenery, the fact that there’s only three campsites is really nice as well so you don’t feel overcrowded. The firewood, being chopped and ready for you for $.50 a log was awesome. Beautiful sunrise, and sunset, I highly suggest you try to stay up just for a little bit because we were able to see a ton of shooting stars.

We certainly will be coming back and would recommend this location to anyone wanting some peace and quiet next to the river. If you want to relax sweet tupelo is your place.

What a beautiful, peaceful welcoming place & Host. We were greated by Sasha, Max a little princess. William came out and chatted with us and showed us all around his beautiful property. Full hookups, a beautiful Bathroom & Shower and washer and dryer area along with table. We had a nice picnic table and a big fire ring which we did use. William has beautiful fruit trees and a garden with chickens.. so cute. The fruit was delicious. We enjoyed cheese & crackers and drinks with William around the campfire and wonderful conversation. Very quiet and the pine trees were so pretty. We wish we could have stayed longer and in the future we will. This was one of our favorite places to stay. A must visit place. :)

This site is very clean & well maintained. Good signage, easy to find, great hookups. Will was very welcoming. We were in a bind because we had generator issues that slowed our trip down & the Hipcamp we had reserved said they would not accept us. Will had no problem with a late check in & had the light on for us upon arrival at 11:30pm! Also great communication with host. Spot was very peaceful & quiet. We were only passing through but definitely a place to come back and just hang out because it's easy to get to & so nice. Will definitely go back! Thanks Will!

This is an amazing hipcamp! The location very much gives you a feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere, which it is. It was very quiet although it sounds like someone is keeping a pack of hunting dogs nearby and they like to bark and howl...alot. And it was very dark, not a single light in sight except the stars. All three of the sites were huge (we were in site #1) and the entire location was very clean and neat, even manicured. There was an excess of furniture for just our needs but we appreciated the grill and fire pit and adored the benches set along the rivers edge where we enjoyed our morning coffee. It isn't clear from all of the user-provided pictures but there is absolutely no access to the river itself. It's a good 20 foot drop and the warnings against getting too close to the edge are there for a reason. The utilities were great and well kept and as easy to get in an out as advertised.
